I hate the dentist. Ive been going to the dentist almost my entire life for braces, cleanings and such. I have been to multiple dental facilities and I really feel like I have finally found a home at Arlington Dentistry by Design. I am always one to be way ahead of schedule, always the first to arrive but silly me, I parked in the wrong parking garage on my first visit with Arlington Dentistry and even showed up at the wrong dental office, (what is wrong with me?) thus making me late. I ran into Arlington Dentistry Design all flustered and I felt so bad. Michelle greeted me right away and didnt make me feel stupid or bad at all for showing up at the wrong office. She complimented my outfit and got me started on my paperwork right away. She then proceeded to give me a tour of the office, (complimentary parking in their parking garage, their lab, dental stations, etc.) which I thought was really nice and personable. After that, they took some x rays of my teeth, and Dr. Ray Cho went through all of them with me. He was professional and kind. Daneen was the dental hygienist who performed my teeth cleaning. I believe she was also the person who I spoke with on the phone when I scheduled my appointment in the first place, but im not sure. To backtrack a bit, when I first booked my appointment, whoever I spoke with at Arlington Dentistry was so extremely nice and patient, that I decided to keep my appointment with them even though I had other dental facilities to choose from. Often, drs and dental office receptionists can be rude, or sound bored but this is not the case at Arlington Dentistry by Design. Anyways, back to Daneen, she was the nicest person ever! She explained everything that she was going to do, and always checked to make sure I was ok. She also wasnt rough, some dental hygenists have been really rough with me before, and I never say anything because Im not like that, but I end up going home with a sore mouth. Daneen was gentle, and got my teeth feeling great! Overall I think this is a great team of people, they love what they do and obviously have a good manager behind the scenes. Arlington Dentistry by Design is the place to go!

When I came to Smile by Design I had coached myself for weeks in preparation for what was sure to be a painful and humiliating experience. Sheila, the marvelous receptionist/office manager, and Dr. Khalil were both genuinely interested WHY I had decided to come in and what my previous experiences with the dentist were. After divulging my apprehensions, they spent the time to address those fears and offered several mitigation options. After the initial exam, I truly felt welcomed but due to previous experiences I was still weary to return for the work to be done. To my surprise, that appointment went exceedingly well! I truly cannot say enough good things about this office! Dr. Khalil recognizes his patients and makes a point to stop by to say "Hi!" even if youre not there to see him. Which brings me to my next point, Beth, my fantastic hygienist, was very warm and did such a great job! The entire office is very welcoming and it almost makes you feel like you are walking into a family reunion. Their impeccable atmosphere is backed by exceptional service. My teeth have never looked or felt better! I wanted to briefly outline what I have had done with a short review of each procedure to give some context. Exam- great and thorough! They explained every xray and went into detail to ensure you are comfortable with the diagnosis. Onlay, crown, fillings - I have to say- I had so much work to be done due to my apprehensions in returning to the dentist based on previous experiences. No need to wait anymore, this office is superb! I opted for the conscious sedation and had everything done in one morning. While you need a companion to drive you, it is only one day off work as opposed to several visits. Cleaning- Beth - great work and very accommodating. My teeth looked amazing after! Dr. Khalil even stopped in to see how everything was feeling and if he needed to make any adjustments. Tray Whitening- This was a very easy process and the results are wonderful! Thanks again to the Smile by Design staff for changing my outlook on the dentist! :)

I was really nervous as a person who had put off going to the dentist for too long, and I also was coming in as a brand new patient. Im not sure where to start with why this is the best practice, because I feel like I just won best smile at the Academy Awards, and Im at a loss for words with how great I look and feel! It started with their Administrator Michelles friendly and welcoming voice and knowledge of insurance questions all new patients have. The office is really nice and modern. There isnt an old fashioned window to check into, but a nice business desk with a smiling staff member awaiting your check in like a youre a VIP client. Adriana was my Clinical Technician and took away the fear with a warm smile and comforting candor with any normal dentist anxiety. Dr. Cho is a top gun professional and knowledgeable dentist who diagnosed, and went over treatment options for both short and long term dental health. Dr. Cho talks to you as a person as supposed to a dentist from a commercial. All of the equipment is new and patient comfort is their priority. Also, HD flat screen X-rays for Dr. Cho to show exactly whats going on as supposed to the old school dentist who takes a peek and puts them away into a file. Dr Cho and his staff makes sure you know exactly whats going on and care about how you feel. On my way out every time is Michelle who is just awesome (like everyone else who works there), always treats patients as people as supposed to numbers. Michelle goes above and beyond in patient care and is a natural. I now have a great smile and want to take as many pictures as possible! Arlington Dentistry by Design is the A-Team of dentistry. Stop searching and make an appointment today. I cant wait to tell everyone I know in the DC area to come here. As an Arlington native, I think that speaks strongly for this practice.

In a day and age where medical care of every sort has become a sometimes soul-crushing real-life reenactment of the very worst parts of 1984, how incredibly refreshing it was when I stumbled upon Arlington Dentistry by Design in a search for a new dentist. From the first phone call to make my appointment (which actually consisted of a pleasant conversation and not the typical perfunctory grunts weve all become accustomed to when making medical appointments), I knew I had found somewhere special. If there is an employee of this practice who does not genuinely care about the patients, who does not go that proverbial extra mile, and who does not always have a smile for you (which I suppose is itself good advertising for their quality of care!), then I have not met him or her. The front-of-house staff are tremendously helpful, warm, funny people who remember you, chat with you, and dont simply toss an invoice in your face. Michelle (with two Ls!) and the rest of the young ladies are a joy, and Ive actually found myself sticking around after appointments to shoot the breeze. And the dental team - well, I have a phobia of dentists that could put a therapists kid through a private college, but Dr. Khalil and his team were so patient and so proficient that I pretty much forgot the white-knuckled fear I usually experience. As pleasant for me, there was none of that used-car-salesman style of dentistry, trying to use scare tactics to sell me procedures I dont need. All in all, I cannot recommend this practice enough. They are a gem in the otherwise rough of modern, big-city dentistry!
