Ive been terrified (yeah, thats really no exaggeration) of dental procedures since I was a kid in the 70s when dentistry was pretty barbaric. I avoid going to the dentist as an adult. I take really good care of my teeth so I wont have to go very often. Pain is the motivator. That said, I knew a few months ago that I was going to have increasing pain in one tooth that I figured was cracked. I looked up sedation dentistry (finally) and found Dr. Sklar. The first time I saw him, he sat patiently with me and discussed the different aspects of sedation dentistry. He really listened to my concerns. He then did a minor procedure on the tooth and said to wait and see if that helped. It did for a while and then about 5 days ago, the pain started escalating. I called his office on a Sunday and got a great answering service who gave me his cell phone. He called me back within 1 minute to discuss an appointment. It was a holiday and he was still willing to see me, but I thought Id wait until the next day. Well, the pain shot through the roof all of a sudden at 8:00 at night. I called his cell again and he called me right back. He offered to phone in a pain killer until I could get into his office the next morning. That got me through the night. Nervous, but in pain, I went to his office at 8am. He was very kind and could tell I was in severe pain. He took an X Ray and recommended a root canal. Normally this would strike instant fear in me, but he said we were going to use Nitrous Oxide so I trusted him. Even before the gas, he gave me a shot to numb the area and I didnt even feel the needle. Then he started the gas and he quickly and deftly did a root canal. I was out of the office within an hour and I felt not one bit of pain. I was very comfortable and felt like he would stop if I told him to stop. This is the best experience Ive ever had at a dentists office. Dr. Sklar and his staff are professional and kind. He is a very skilled dentist, this much is obvious. I would recommend him greatly to anyone that is afraid of the dentists chair.

I am so thankful for Dr. Sklar, what a blessing he has been in my life. Recently I went to another Dentist (who I wont name here) and he did a poor job of installing a crown (lots of pain and crown didnt even touch the bottom tooth). Dr. Sklar not only took the bad crown out and fixed it nicely, he also filled cavities on that side of my mouth in such a beautiful way that you cant even see the fillings at all (they look exactly like my tooth color). He was very patient, very gentle, and listened to any questions or concerns I had. I feel so much better now, thanks Dr. Sklar!

His staff is equally excellent, beginning with Stephanie at the front desk. From the point of view of the worlds most challenging patient (me), Monica is the worlds best dental assistant and Mollie the most wonderfully professional, gentle and effective registered dental hygienist. Im more grateful than I could ever say to all of them. Without their help, I would be unable to have dental care, so to me, theyre all super heroes.

I now love and look forward to my dental visits! Everyone in the office is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and most importantly, they do a great job! I am one of those tough dental patients having both sensitive teeth and a dislike of peoples fingers in my mouth, and their use of nitrous oxide is the perfect solution for me! Now my trips to the dentist are stress free - I really cant recommend Dr. Sklar enough!

I have been treated by Dr. Sklar for several years and he has treated a root canal to dental cleaning. He has done an excellent job, seemed to be concerned about providing the needed treatment as well as if any out of pocket cost would be incurred by me.
