Although I see a lot of positive reviews as far as this practices care for pregnancy patients, I need to share my experience, as someone who just needed a routine exam and a birth control prescription. The appointment itself was great. Dr. Varmas assistant saw me, was pleasant, and my appointment started on time. I was thinking about switching from Ortho Evra to Nuva Ring, and so she wrote me a prescription for Nuva Ring. She told me that if I wanted to switch back to the patch after trying the ring, to call, and they would fax a prescription to my pharmacy for the patch, no problem.Well, after a month of trying the nuva ring and hating it, I decided to do just that. I called in, and they said it would be no problem to fax my prescription over. A week went by, and it had not yet been faxed in, so I called again. They said it would be faxed in. Another week went by, and it STILL was not faxed in. I called for the first time during the first week of december, and my prescription did not finally get faxed in until Christmas eve. When I went to pick up the patch, it turned out that the prescribing doctor had not filed a claim with my insurance company, and I had to pay 100 dollars at the pharmacy for a months worth of patches, when, with my insurance coverage, I should have only been paying 25 dollars. In addition, the gynecology practice also did not file a claim to my insurance company for my appointment, and I received a bill for 300 dollars in the mail. I called them right away, and their billing lady was very quick in filing the claim and all was settled in a weeks time. However, I provided my insurance information at the appointment. This should have been done.I thought all was well...... until today, when I went to get my first refill. It turns out they only faxed in a prescription for one months worth of the patch, with no refills. Even though the entire purpose of my appointment was to not have to worry about this until the next time I am due for a pap smear. I called their office at 8:30am the next day, and they said that they would phone in my prescription that day. They did not do it until 6:30pm that night. Although their staff is pleasant, I have had nothing but problems involving most logistics with this practice. If you are having a baby, its a great practice to go to. However, for general pap smears and birth control appointments, it seems they dont care too much.

Dr. Supriya Varma is one of the best gynecologist in Virginia. She is very professional and talented . Before I met her I read the reviews but didnt care much about the reviews , I read her profile and understood her that she has immense knowledge in the subject . When I first met her and asked questions , she answered all my questions and I had positive feeling that she is the one I am looking for. Her staff was also good and are very up-to-date with appointments or the reminders or the follow-up calls. It was Supriya Varma who assured me that I will have a safe pregnancy in the late age of 43.She took very good care of my health and I was treated as a one of her family member . She gave me personalized care through out my pregnancy and was very supportive when I was in depression. I have seen Dr. Varmas talent on the D-day. I was supposed to have a C-section due to babys transverse lie. The night before D-Day my contractions started and she responded to my calls in the midnight and gave me full support. She rushed to the Hospital when the contractions were 2-3 min apart and nurses were preparing for C-section. Dr. Varma could have went ahead with C-section but she waited and monitored my contractions and babys position. When the baby is in head down position she responded quickly and decided to have Vaginal delivery and she dealt the delivery with patience and treated me as friend. She saved my life from not having C-section. I took a week to post the review so that I can add my post portum experience. My recovery was easy though I had 2nd degree tear. I would never forget her support and help and treatment in my life. I would recommend to anyone who is dealing with high risk pregnancy. The talent of any Dr. comes into picture when Dr. deals with patients at risk. Thanks Dr. Supriya Varma , Nicole and staff for making my 9 months experience a wonderful Journey in my life. I gave birth to a healthy baby girl in my late age. I would have not been able to do it if I would have not met her.

DO NOT GO HERE. Worst experience with a doctors office ever. I recently moved to an area and made an appointment with Dr. Varma for a specific health problem reason. I did not even get to see the doctor at my first appointment. A nurse came in to do my yearly pap smear, then a medical assistant came into the room with a small notepad and a pen, and asked me why I came to visit. She jot down my conditions and said she will share it with Dr. Varma. When I made a complaint at the next visit, they explained that it was a nurse who can professionally provide a healthcare, but I know it was a medical assistant who was merely delivering my comments to Dr. Varma. I paid for a visit to have a consultation with a doctor, not a medical assistant! I got to meet Dr. Varma at my second visit and she advised me to get a pelvic ultra sound done. Six days later, Dr. Varmas office emails me that the lab result is in and I can view it online at the patient portal. I logged in and I did not see any results uploaded for 3 weeks. Thinking weird, I called the office and a lady who picked up the phone said that she doesnt believe that they received the result from the ultrasound image center and said that she will get back to me as soon as she finds out. I did not hear anything back for another 2 weeks so I called back and now they are saying that they actually received the fax BUT FORGOT TO UPLOAD IT in my patient portal. I asked then why they didnt even follow up with me after they received my result, and she said sorry. This place is the most unprofessional doctors office that I have been to. These people dont care about individual patient health, and only give excuses for their indifference, carelessness, and forgetfulness. I will never go back and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I switched to Womens Care Group last year after receiving disappointing care at another practice. When I became pregnant, I had many questions and concerns, especially throughout the first trimester. Every time I called with a question or concern, I was received with kindness and patience. The office never hesitated to have me come in so that they could check on the baby and make sure that he was doing ok. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and I always got into my appointments on time. Dr. Varma is very gentle and kind, and her calm approach to each appointment up through the delivery made me and my husband feel like our family was getting the best care. When delivery day came I experienced some complications and our son had to be delivered by emergency C-section. Dr. Varma approached the situation with calmness, explaining in the operating room the need to proceed with the C-section. She delivered our beautiful, healthy baby boy, and my recovery was smooth and easier than I ever could have expected. We are so thankful for Dr. Varmas care and the care from Womens Care Group.
