Our Doberman Zena loved Dr. May. Breeder did her ears; he helped us with aftercare. One ear would occasionally droop. He fixed the problem by putting in permanent stitches and that cured the problem. We have taken our dogs there with great results for any problem. He was kind enough to come to our home when the time came to put her to "sleep." He was at a tennis match with his wife and took the time to tend to her at that time. Our Doberman Deacon was treated with the same care. He took care of our Airedale Tazzi. He is now taking care of our Doberman Ziva and our Airedale Copper Skye. Would we take all our dogs there if we werent happy with the services? I dont think so. The Smithfield Animal Hospital, all vets, and staff are out choice. Thank you Dr. May for such wonderful care!

Dr. May and staff are AMAZING! My cat needed emergency surgery and they were wonderful in explaining the procedure and aftercare. We appreciated the care and affection they gave our cat while he was there. Saw an earlier post and our experience was not at all like that. It was stressed upon us the importance of following the aftercare instructions AND bringing our cat in for his follow up appointments for the surgery to be successful. Dr. May has taken care of our 6 dogs and cats for years and we have been extremely pleased. Wouldnt go anywhere else!

Dr. May and his great staff have been taking care of our dogs for over 20 years and they are fantastic. He even came to our house to put our beloved lab to sleep when it was her time - she was scared of the vet office and he wanted to minimize the trauma and make it peaceful for her. His staff is always on top of things and we appreciate their caring approach to our pets health care.

Awesome staff all around, from the front desk to the doctors, but excessive treatment charges cause me to knock off two stars. For my dogs ear infection, admittedly a bad one, the cost for initial visit with treatment and 2 week follow-up was almost $500. Similar treatment with follow up at Great Lakes Animal Hospital in Michigan 18 months previously was $260....
