The cat in the front office is covered in ringworm, it infected my cat and I am sure many other customers pets as it is a highly contagious fungi. Instead of isolating it they have it in the front office so they can infect clients pets and make more money off of treatment; brought my kitten in today and it was most likely reinfected from exposure to the cat. By the way this is also contagious to humans and causes ringworm of the body, athletes foot, jock itch and ringworm of the scalp. Also they do not have the lamp to test for ringworm like most notable vets do. They charged me for a free visit I was promised after adopting a new pet from the humane society, and charged higher rate for a kitten than ANY office in Hampton Roads area $25, (other places are Kitten Package - $26.99 Includes the following: exam, fvrcp, deworming, Revolution Kitten Kit). They became rude when I pointed it out, claiming that I for-fitted the free visit for missing the appointment date the first time. Mind you I had been waiting for the vet to contact me back as she promised, they never called even though I called to speak with the vet on several occasions. They charge $30 for a fecal and most places it is half that. They also charge hundreds of dollars for the treatment, other places charge 9.99. I have spent thousands of dollars there in 2 years of service with them, all of my pets are healthy with no problems except when I brought my kitten there and it was infected with ringworm because the humane society brought it there for the shots and it was clearly infected by the cat in the front office that is covered in ringworm. Needless to say I will NEVER go back because they are unethical and scam artists plus their prices are very expensive for what little they actually offer the pets. I just hope people read this so their pets dont get infected like mine did. On their rabies clinic days they say they charge half price for the vaccination which does not include the exam fee they make you pay, other places include the exam for the same price all the time! Shop around and do not use this place unless you want to get your animal infected!

Horrible experience after using this practice for years. My kitten was sick and after 3 failed attempts to diagnose her, they recommended exploratory surgery. When that revealed NOTHING, still had to pay $800.00 for the surgery. This is in addition to the $300 I had already paid for her to be wrong at the previous visits. At what point should I have to pay for NOTHING? 3 half days of work missed, not to mention the stress to my kitten and my family during surgery and after and never got a diagnosis for the original problem. Yes I was given the option to wait, but "threatened " with it costing twice as much if I had to go to the ER vet! I also explained my position to the vet and she didnt care! Told her I was fine to pay part of the bill except her surgical fee of $350.00 since she was WRONG about everything she said at every visit and never did give me a diagnosis. She refused. Never going back! Shame on her!!

I really wish there was an extremely poor option. I have never been so appalled at taking my animal to the vet. The staff is extremely rude, has no clue what they are doing, yells at you when you have someone else pick up the animal because you are unable to pick your animal up due to taking your daughter to a doctors appointment that you told them about, and rush you out the door. They act like there is more important things to do than to take care of your pet. I honestly feel like I just condemned my kitten by taking him here. Their prices are not fair. I can not believe that the Humane Society makes you sign a contract to bring animals here. My kitten was seen there on 06/18/13 and I had to take him to my vet to fix what they did wrong. If you want proper care, this is DEFINITELY NOT the place to take them.

Dr. McCray always provides great care for all the rescue dogs we bring in there for routine care, spay/neuters, heartworm treatments, X-rays and other more extreme issues. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is that we did have one issue with one neuter that I felt could have been handled a little differently in regards to payment, but other then that no issues and we can always get in on a timely manner and dogs are always well taken care of. They spend extra time with the rescues who are nervous and unlike many vets understand the need to be patient with animals who have been abused, neglected and mistreated in the past.

I felt as if they didnt care about my Dog, they just grabbed her and talked to me instead of making her feel safe with them, the other incident was when we had her Rabies shot, I asked if they could see if she was dehydrated, they refused and said I had to make a appointment, which I would have lady paid extra for her to check. How hard is it to just grab her skin to see??? I stopped by and asked them once if they can convince me why I should bring my dog back to them, needless to the receptionist was speechless but tried, FAILED.

needed to spay my puppy and had to see Dr.McCrary for check up before she would do it. So we did that and Dr. McCrary told my wife August 25 between 7:30 and 8:30 am. My wife showed up today and she had no appointment on the books. I was told that the Vet doesnt make appointments the admin staff does. I am sure the Vets notes about my dog included being spayed today. So we are going elsewhere. I was going to move my dog to this vet but that wont happen either. I gave one star because my wife and dog really liked the Vet.

Avoid using this veterinarian; she is not universally animal-friendly and not as competent as you would hope for your babies. After having given her my business, spending hundreds of dollars for my pets, I wouldve hoped that she would at least feign interest and concern, and do what she can to give them proper veterinary care. The bottom line is: it is our pets who bear the consequences. Look for someone who genuinely cares about your pet and you as a pet owner.

All 5 of my pets have received excellent care and extra special attention from the team. Additionally they open their doors to animals with critical needs and work to find resources for the animals care if it is a specialty case. When I moved to Carrollton from Norfolk and had to go to an emergency clinic over a holiday, the vet there recommended Dr. McCrary and her group. I feel blessed to have her and the entire staff.

I started taking my dog here when they first started out and I lived right around the corner. Now I live 45 minutes away and I still take him there. They are very personable and kind. They have good prices and look out for you and your animals best interest. They will also fit you into their busy schedule rather quickly. I highly recommend bringing your pet here!
