We normally go to another veterinarian close to home which I like because they are prompt and the service is good, although their prices are high. We made the tough decision to get our dog put to sleep due to health reasons and she was very old. My wife called around and she thought we got the best price here at Patton, they quoted her just above $100 because we were there in the past and would not be charged a visit fee. I arrive there for my 6:20 appointment (15 minutes early) and was walked to a "comfort" room to wait so we can have our beloved dog put to sleep. I was told by the person who walked me back that she would be with me shortly. I was left in the room an hour past my visit time, no one came back. I walked out to the front desk and asked if I was forgotten, she checked and said the doctor would be with me shortly, about 10 minutes later someone (not the doctor) came back and asked a few general questions and stated the doctor would be with me shortly. FINALLY at 7:45 the doctor came back to the room, 1 hour and 25 minutes after my appointment. He did not do an examination, however I would be charged a $40+ examination fee and I was the one who told him that we took her to somewhere else and through testing found that she had failing kidneys. She was also having seizures and blood in her stool. He agreed we were making the right decision, then walloped me with the examination fee for not doing an exam. He just held her and listened to what I had to say, if you can 40 bucks that easy I am in the wrong business. Their reason was they have to see them in the past year, if we were told this over the phone I would have went to the place we normally go to. I thought we were saving money when in actuality we were not. If you value your pet and your time STAY AWAY!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I have been taking all my pets to Patton for several years. Called and asked if they treat rabbits and was told yes, so I made an appt. Was told that my rabbit was very ill but they would neet to run tests to see what the underlying issue was. My other options were euthinization or try to administer critical care food and medicine at home to see if that would work. I chose to give her the food and medicine at home. Was also told if she wasnt eating because of dental problems, they would not be able to do the dental work there, but would refer me to someone else. I just assumed since Patton said they would treat her, that meant they would treat anything that may be wrong with her. Otherwise, I would have first tried to see if I could find a vet. that would be able to do the work (because honestly I was thinking it was her teeth). A couple of days past and she still wasnt getting better, so instead of making another appt there and still being sent somewhere else, I decided to make an appt with another local vet that specializes with rabbits and would have did the dental work (I made sure I asked the right question this time). Unfortunately my rabbit died at the other vets cause it ended up being her heart and it was too much stress on her. Ive always been happy with Patton and their staff in the past, so I guess my biggest grip was for this appt, the dr. was running 40 minutes behind, so the wait was longer than I anticipated in the waiting room and exam room.

The Vet was nice, brought my dog in because she had arthritis and they gave her meds that said would help her with pain and make her better. The dog became worse over night, whimpering all nite unable to even get up. Called the next day to find out what to do, kept being told they left messages. Finaly after 4 hours I called back again and the receptionist could hear my dog crying in the background and I asked what needs to be done, if I needed to put her down, because i didnt want her to suffer anymore, or could they give her a shot till the meds kicked in. They were unhelpful and when I called back again, April answered and gave me an attitude saying they did call my house a few minutes ago and said to give my dog more pain meds, and I advised her that I told them to call my cell and that i already gave her an extra dose and it wasnt helping and she laughed when I said why wont you guys tell me what to do or to bring her in can you give her morphine? she laughed and said we are trying to help. I told them they were incompitent and I would never again bring any of my animals there. The worst thing a staff memeber can do is laugh about a dying dog. Shame on you and your stupidness. I will make sure no one I know goes there.

I love Pattons. I took my two six month old Pit Bulls there to get checked. Xena had some type of skin allergy going on and Gaia had never been to the vet before (since her previous owner had never taken her). Dr. Schmidt walked into the room, gave me a firm handshake and then immediately got down on the floor to say hello to my dogs. Both him and the tech took their time making sure my dogs felt comfortable with hugs, kisses and treats before they did anything medical. After taking some samples, Dr. Schmidt stayed with us the entire time the samples were being tested. He answered all the questions I had and didnt use vet jargon. He made sure I really understood what was going on with the girls and how to help them. Although the entire bill came out to be over $600, I loved the customer focus. Also, I believe they dont charge the vet visit bill ($50) if youre just going in to get your dogs a shot. As long as its just the tech administering care and not the actual vet, I think the bill is significantly lower in price. Love them! The price is iffy depending on the care your pet needs.

I like dr Doug and dr Kevin. Theyre nice and friendly. There is always a long wait though. My appt was 6:00 and the dr didnt come in till 6:40. The sign out front said he Dr. Kevin was on time and he was far from being on time. My husband went out and asked how long it was going to be because we were ready to leave and go to my other vet. We got there plenty early since we travel from Dover. Some of the meds are way over priced. Baytril was 45.00 and my backup vet charges 20.00 for it. An X-ray they charge 170.00 for my back up vet charges 110.00 for the same exact X-rays. The staff out front were nice. Nikki and I had a conversation about getting a bunny. That helped pass the time while I was waiting on medicine. I do like coming here but waiting in the exam room for more than 10 mins is unacceptable.

I recently switched to Patton Vet for my two dogs, and so far am very happy with my experience there. Rileys first visit here was for a consult before surgery, which shortly followed. Dr. Edwards went above and beyond the day of the procedure to provide multiple calls with updates on how she was doing - both during surgery and after. Ive noticed the pricing is a bit on the high side, however all veterinary costs are high no matter where you go. Each visit my dogs & I have been greeted with friendly staff and smiles; I would rather pay a few extra dollars for services when they are accompanied by kind & compassionate staff.
