I brought my dog to the Hope Center after he started vomiting and having watery stools following a neutering at Falls Church Animal Hospital (which was closed at the time). The Hope Center performed a series of tests and one of their vets informed me that my dog had tested positive for a bacteria he picked up from another dog, likely during his overnight stay at Falls Church Animal Hospital - as that was the only time he had been in contact with other dogs since the surgery. The Hope vet was very friendly and seemed confident in the results. I asked her if an antibiotic would have helped prevent this (something that was NOT administered to my dog at Falls Church Animal Hospital) and she said "yes," it would have likely made a difference. I also asked it if would be better to keep my dog at Hope overnight for observation and she said that he would get better faster if we did that - so we went to the front desk, paid $1000 for the tests, exam, and boarding and went home for the night. The following day, I called Falls Church Animal Hospital to report the results from the Hope Center. They told me that they would reach out to the Hope Center and "discuss" the matter further. When we returned to the Hope Center to pick up my dog, we were quickly ushered into one of the examination rooms to meet with the vet. The vet came almost immediately into the exam room to speak with us. Apparently, Falls Church Animal Hospital called her to discuss our visit to the Hope Center and she wanted to "clarify" a few things. Looking visibly nervous, she told my fiancee and I a very different story than the one we heard the night before,,, she started by saying that there had been a "miscommunication" earlier and that my dog DID NOT contract this bacteria from another dog - but instead, he "already had it" before he went to Falls Church for the surgery - and it was "stress" that brought it on. She also said that antibiotics would NOT help his situation (even though she told us the exact opposite the night before). She said that it was OK that Falls Church never gave him any antibiotics because they wouldnt have helped - ironic given that the Hope Center sent us home with an arsenal of antibiotics. It made no sense. It is clear that Falls Church Animal Hospital and the Hope Center have a working relationship based on referrals. Hope Center was the hospital that first referred me to Falls Church Animal Hospital - a hospital that was clearly was able to pressure the Hope vet into changing her story. Net result is that Im out of pocket more than $1400 ($1000 to Hope Center and $400 to Friendship Animal Hospital for the neutering), my dog is STILL sick and my fiancee contracted this bacteria from my dog (it can be passed to humans) and we had to cancel our nonrefundable weekend vacation because he was sick. My fiancee and I dont plan on letting this go until we receive a full refund from The Hope Center. Were quite certain they can afford it.

High-end center and high-end price. The staff was friendly, intelligent, and began to take care of my dogs needs in an expedient manner. I took my dog in to have a non-bleeding laceration stitched up, and after an initial consultation with a tech, they took her into the back for a closer look. As she walked away, I was asked if it was alright for them to administer medication, which I responded: only if she needed it at this time, but that she did not appear to be in any pain. I then consulted with the doctor, who took time to explain the process and the need for surgery, but that she seemed to be fine and they would not get to her until the morning. They gave me a quote shortly thereafter in the amount of $1450 that needed to be paid up front. I informed them that I was unable to pay this amount, after which they offered financing through Wells Fargo. I made the decision to take her to her usual vet in the morning, with whom I have an insurance plan. This decision was made on the fact that they were not going to operate at the Hope Center straight away, and there was neither present danger nor sign of pain in my pet. The receptionist came back with a new quote of $380, what I now owed for the services rendered. This included a $75 emergency fee, $100 consultation fee, $40 clipping and clean-up, and a few other fees for staff and medications. We were in and out within the hour, and the longest period of that was the 30 min wait for her to be discharged. Seeing as my situation was not of imminent danger, and I could wait for the vet in the morning, I felt the Hope Center took advantage of me for a mere thirty minutes of service and nothing more than a clip and local anesthetic. Had I not been so tired and worn out, I would have demanded not to pay so much for such little service, but we both needed to go home. For an emergency care center, I was impressed by the response time and the cleanliness of the facility. I was not impressed by the granite counter tops, marble façades, crown molding, or flat screen, but to each their own. Overall, I would not likely recommend this facility again to my friends, because like me, they would not be able to afford their fees. But if you are without reason, and need to have your pet taken care of with the quality service in an expedient manner, this is the place.

My review will be simple, factual and to the point. They killed my 7 year old dog. No diagnosis, no compassion, no apologies, no answers, no compensation (billed me for $11,000), provided him with medication for every illness and disease imaginable that he never had nor did they diagnose him with. I requested the medical records after he passed in their care and there were pages missing, his wrong name and wrong age. But even more devastating, there were medications given that had nothing to do with him and on further research, cause respiratory distress and cardiac arrest. They dont want you to know what they are doing back there and no one thinks to look at medical records when your baby is alive and in their care. They have torn our familys heart out of us and my only hope is there is a hell and one day, my only consolation is they will burn in that hell, slowly. He only came in there with a little lethargy and he left there dead. There only answer to me, "just died, we dont know, what do you want us to with the remains?". When my husband picked him up, he had blood all over him and they never could answer where the blood came from or at the very least, cleaned him up. They shoved the most sweetest little boy you would ever meet into some cold, dark storage and will never provide any answers. I do want to thank the male that works at the front desk in the evenings. He called my husband on the side and said he could tell us but needs his job badly. Thank you for your kindness and as much as we understand you have a family to support, please if you see this and leave the company in the future, you know who we are. If that day comes, please contact us and let us know what they did to him. We know as you do, something went wrong, unintentional as it was, they got him mixed up with someones elses pet and gave medications according to the medical records, that had nothing to do with him and his little body could not go on. That seems like the obvious reason. An autopsy revealed there was nothing wrong with him whatsoever. We wanted to let you know that through this venue and not get you in any trouble with your position there. Thank you. .
