Even though my dog has been seen nearly his entire life by Banfield providers the Dr. at this location refused to fill a prescription from our local banfield to this location here. They could clearly see his prescription in thier computers. As I offered to give them the Rx # i was informed that "it isnt really needed, I see the prescrition in your pets file". So safety wasnt an issue. To specify, the staff member answering the phone was polite, patient and knowledgable (the only reason I didnt give them a 1 star rating). I appreciated her help. This is a failure of one Doc at this location. I dont have the time to go take my dog for a vet visit he doesnt need just so they can charge me more and make it worth it (for them) so my dog could recieve his medication JUST prescribed by another doc in their program. They could have called the location to verify information any information that they needed and I am traveling so while I have had a wonderful experience at my local Banfield this is clearly a hit or miss service. Do your research before signing up for their wellness plan. With any luck youll find good people, just dont expect much from at least one of the Vets at this particular location. I hope that if Banfield starts taking beeter care of its customers and patients at *all* loations that the reputation they build will be their own reward. For now, they have this...

WARNING!!! Do not come here! I took my 2 yr old maltipoo here and she was nervous as many dogs are when you go to the vet. The vet who was an older male was joking around, being sadistic and said "why dont we take your head off" and also "why dont we dip you in a vault of oil that will shut you up really quick" I was horrified! He then asked me if he could take my dog to the back to get her blood drawn. Why in the world would he want to take her out of my sight very strange creepy and unprofessional! I said no and had them draw the blood sample in front of me. I was furious. The only professional staff member was the assistant who was there to help out. The assistant was very nice and patient with her. For some reason the vet caused my dog to bleed after he drew her blood sample and they had to put peroxide on her and hold pressure for about 5 minutes or so until she stopped bleeding. Horrible experience!

Dr. Crystal Bowman is a true professional. I have been to 3-4 different Banfield locations through various moves, and Im fortunate to have found her. My cat suffered from chronic vomiting for 3 years. Vet after vet said he was fine and to give him Zantac. Dr. Bowman ran reasonable tests, and ruled out everything but IBD. Rather than spend tons of money getting a biopsy, she suggested putting him on medication for IBD anyway. Its been a miracle 2 weeks now. My cat is happy, meowing, gaining weight, and hasnt thrown up once. She takes her time to diagnose your pet accurately. I highly recommend her professionalism and honesty.

The staff is friendly, the facilities are clean, I can always get an appointment (prob because the location is newer) the pricing is reasonable, and the vet seems to know her stuff. Also she does not try to upsell you. For example when my dog had a problem, she explained the expensive way to address it and a cheaper way then explained the risks with both. I did not feel pressured, like my dog would die if i didnt shell out major cash. What more do you want?

Have been to a few Banfield locations and this one is by far the nicest! We have never received such personal care and advice for our puppy like the Herndon location offers. Dr. Washington was really knowledgeable and seems like he really loves what he does. We wont be going to any other location from now on!!!
