For a low cost clinic with a sliding scale based on income, this is one of the BEST places to go if your poor and dont make enough to qualify for the affordable healthcare system, but arent poor enough to qualify for Virginias medicaid. The most I paid was a simple 35 bucks. Although Im financially low on income at the moment. 35 bucks is easy to come up with the help of friends and family. The other clinic that helps low income individuals is the "Virginia Beach Health Clinic" based on Holland road. I have been going to that one for years until I came here to the Family Medical Center. Although its free there with more specialists at their disposal, It does not compare with this clinic. The folks there are mean, rude, everything is in disorder, and they wont see you until you can prove that you are poor. This involves tax papers, irs tax transcripts, unemployment statements etc, etc. They do more to keep you out, than to actually help poor people. Your best hope if your poor, unemployed with no job, or your work is sporadic throughout the year, is to come to the Virginia Beach Family Medical Center! (Stay clear of the Virginia Beach free clinic on Holland rd.) This clinic is fast, (well they do their best to get you in and out) kind, courteous, professional, and they can get poor folks their meds for free with the PAP program.

I give this place one star because every one of the staff was very nice and professional except for the doctor. He acted like he didnt care if I lived or died. I came in there looking for help and got NOTHING! I paid them money for NOTHING! I will never go back ever again.

Absolutly terrible. I called in September and made an appointment to see a dr and got the appt. Day of the appointment i called to verify and the woman tells me my appt had been canceled. No one called to let me know. And i could not get another appt for another month. .

Horrible and they lie about ur copay till u get there and then try and up it 40 more dollars when they tell u on the phone ur copay still the same

friendly staff and great medical care! However the waiting time is usually over 1 hour.
