I always enjoy seeing Dr. Waldron, he is a great doctor. My son and I went in for our annual exams yesterday. My son was brought back first giving me time to fill out the paperwork, which I thought was nice. The assistant that called him back had red hair and politely asked if she could bring my son back for the first part and then we would see the doctor together. My son said she was nice and he felt comfortable with her. Once I finished the paperwork the other assistant called me back. I thought she was going to do my exam but she just opened the door to where my son was and the assistant with him said she thought I was going to be worked up by the black assistant so we could see the doctor together. This clearly pissed off the black assistant because she rolled her eyes. She closed the door to the exam room loud enough to shake the building. I could barely understand what she was saying because none of her words came out clearly. I thought she would have came off nicer if she had a genuine smile and took time to speak instead of rushing through her sentences. This woman acted like she didnt want to do my exam let alone be in that office. I think Dr. Waldron would be making a wise business decision by letting that one go. All the other employees seemed very nice and happy to help. Im glad my son had a good time with the other assistant.

I will say I enjoyed my first visit to this office. Almost all the staff was friendly and the care from the doctor was great. I really felt like I mattered and wasnt just a number. However, during my time spent in the office I noticed a few things that I feel should be pointed out. First of all, the young lady at the front desk with the shorter hair seemed very agitated. I witnessed her puff out air and put her hands on her face a few times. This seems unprofessional to me. Secondly, the nurse or the assistant that brought me back for my exam, the African american woman, seemed as if she had an attitude the entire time. She slammed the exam room door closed and when she was talking to me I could hardly understand her questions because she was not speaking clearly. Highly unprofessional! Also when one of her coworkers knocked on the door to get some kind of tool out of the room she gave her a nasty attitude as well and she even said, "the people I work with" and let out a sigh and shook her head. Im sorry but I do not want to work with those two again. If you come here for an eye exam make sure to stay away from the short haired girl up front!

I lost a contact lens on July 1st and immediately called in to order a replacement. I was told that my Rx had expired and I would need an appointment before a new lens could be ordered. The soonest I could be seen was July 3rd. I saw Dr. Buck and he was wonderfully understanding of my desire to have the lens replaced as soon as possible (as I wear a rigid gas permeable lens). During the appointment there was a great deal of confusion regarding the replacement lens, my insurance, new glasses Rx and the appointment took much longer than I anticipated (2+ hours). I was told that I would be called when the lens arrived. On July 10th I was called and informed that my lens had arrived at the office and that the earliest I could have it dispensed would be July 14th. I understand that I need to "try" the lens on, but the fact that they will make me wait another four days is unacceptable. They are quick to take payment immediately but not so quick to provide service. I am thoroughly unhappy, and Ive been a patient there for over seven years.

After having a bad experience with another Optometrist (office closed down, but still called me to confirm I was coming for my appointment - so I showed up to an empty office), Dr. Waldrons office fit me in same day. The Dr. was thorough in his assessment, patient and detailed in his explanations and accommodating based on my concerns over my contact issues. There were a few things that would improve the experience e.g., assistants that are a little more knowledgeable in the equipment and tests being performed, and visually wiping down the equipment with disinfectant wipes so that I know it was done - but overall a good experience. Would recommend to others.

I went there to get a new prescription in my Google Glass. The staff were amazingly helpful, the best treatment Ive had to date. The person that helped me get the right lenses even went as far as to take every possible measurement of my face and eyes to get the perfect lenses. When I got the Glass back with the new glasses they were better than I would of ever expected and they even gave them to me in a special bag and everything. HIGHLY recommended. side note: they say their in Yorktown but theyre no more than 100ft from the welcome to Newport news sign.

Have been going here for years. Called to set up standard eye appointment. Scheduling and front desk process was poor. I almost gave up and switched after all this time. Were more concerned about getting my new insurance information than setting up my appointment. I have great eye insurance, but even if I didnt, an eye exam is not out of the standard realm of people paying cash for it. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. The scheduler who answered the phone also seemed very scattered.

I have been coming here for several years now and it has always been a great experience. The staff is always friendly. The ladies at the front desk can answer insurance questions right away or, if they cant, are quick to call and get you the answer. Dr. Waldron is very personable and I have never felt like he was rushing through an appointment in all the years I have come here (Im in my 30s). I definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for an optometrist.

Excellent experience! I would highly recommend this practice for eye care. The doctor was wonderful. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Explained everything to our satisfaction. He was also very welcoming. They were able to get us seen soon and the office was very clean and up to date. They had a nice selection of glasses and the doctors assistant and eye technician were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend. Wonderful practice!

Thorough, professional, all staff members were great at their job and friendly. First visit and liked it - saw Dr Buck. Spent time pricing frames and lenses - good selection, prices seemed reasonable but need to look more before I buy. No pressure. Been going to optometrists around the USA for several decades now, and this is a modern, excellent business. Took my Tricare insurance plan and zero copay or issues.

Dr. Waldron and his staff are very professional and my visit was handled very well and my vision was checked and corrected thoroughly. I even went back at a latter date to double check a test and for the return check they did not even charge me. They just wanted to make sure the numbers were correct. I would highly recommend Dr.. Waldron office to keep your eyesight well focused.
