I went with this place soon after moving to Seattle, I figured why not save a few dollars on my paycheck right? So I signed up. They are convenient in that a lot of things can be done online. Website is workable but the pharmacies are a joke. You have to go out of your way to pick up a prescription at one of their locations, cant just go to QFC. Even if you order ahead its at least a 30 min wait there holding a number. I just had them mail me my prescriptions in the end. Then, soon after joining, I got a horrible cough and called in for an office visit. I was harassed repeatedly on the phone by my doctors staff about whether or not I had been treated for this condition before, all this despite having said that its been going on for a few weeks. Where was I for two weeks? Canada? So finally they let me set up an appointment, its late in the day and the doctor is an hour late. She looks completely tired and frazzled. She asks me questions and gets visibly angry when I cant answer them, like what color is the mucus... what am I, spitting out the mucus into a tissue every time I cough and matching it to swatches? Finally she says that its viral, of course, and goes on a lecture about the misuse of antibiotics you get everywhere, gee thanks, and to drink water. I felt like she was assuming I was a hypochondriac and didnt give me the benefit of the doubt, just horribly rude overall. I thought that I didnt have to say that Id gone though two bottles of robatussin that week just to get her to listen to me. Im sure its not the doctors fault because she sure seemed overworked but why even bother going in if they pay you no attention? Overall they dont seem to know what they are doing. Routine tests are done much less frequently here due to lack of evidence, really? Is it evidence or a cost cutting expense? Lets be honest. This year I finally left group health. Im so happy to be taking to a nice doctor who acutally has the time to take care of my needs and listen to me, as well as a healthcare provider that doesnt seem like they are just trying to shove me out the door as quickly as possible every time I have a concern. This place may seem tempting, but dont do it if you have other options, just dont.

The Bellevue facility is nice the surgeons and specialists are great however the emergency room nurses and doctors and the worst Ive ever seen. I went in for sharp pain in my right side rib cage (the consulting nurse said to go in) i get an IV for dehydration and they concluded my pain was from this cough which i repeatedly told them i didnt have. The following week i go back with worse pain and a fever. No IV and the nurse said "well you can do your eyeliner you dont look sick" and they send me home with the same conclusion its from some mystery cough that i dont have. A couple days later i finally get into see my primary care doctor and she immediately does a chest xray and finds out i have pneumonia. Now the third vist i have i go in because i have bleeding when i urinate and im about 28 weeks pregnant. I get in and wait and wait to see the doctor he (before even talking to me or seeing me) believes its a STD he then proceeded to push on my stomach and then looks at me and asks if im pregnant? Are you kidding me did he not even read my chart or look at me, im so pissed off and he then discharges me and says its normal and happens some times. The next time i go in im in labor i called ahead of time and they said not to go to OverLake but to come in and see them first. So i go and wait and wait practically in tears they finally get me in and i wait some more they open my legs and im already 6cm dilated and they are like oh no and rush me to OverLake. The last time i ever went after i had my daughter (mind you this is every single vist Ive ever had here) i go in because im in awful pain, im peeing blood, and throwing up. They cant seem to figure out whats wrong and they send me to OverLakes ER (which i find out is a fortune to go to) OverLake does a simple test and a pelvic ultrasound and finds out i have a kidney infection which Group health at the time couldnt seem to figure out. Its a bunch of uncaring people that work in the ER there and have no right to be in the medical field. Im a RT and i would never treat my patients the way this ER has treated me.

A Disconnection from The people whom provide services Deductibles that are difficult to pay, due to limited time Payment allotments As in other reviews, one specialist told my wife to expect operations on both eyes within a month of each other for cataracts But this was changed to an indefinite just the week before the 1st surgery by another because one cataract was deemed not too blinding, and the one good eye should be adequate for the duration??? She was deemed healthy and ready before all this Her deductible was high, so almost begrudgingly this for the "people of Puget Sound non profit" corporate entity said she would have 12 months to pay up or collections will have to ensue Would you want to go back? Never have recommended this type of behavior, what's to like or admire? Just got off the phone, the administrative person just repeated herself endlessly, asking questions I had quickly already Explained slowly and in great detail She kept hammering away without acknowledging what I had said This place is like a fast food Drive through, order what you can afford before you reach the payment window WOW SO DISCONNECTED IT'S SCARY!!?

Great check-in and appointment processes once you have you appointment scheduled, but to schedule an appointment you have to wait for weeks... Now. The main issue is that I dont think doctors have much knowledge or desire to explore the issues - in fact several things that were actually resolved, were first researched by us via friends and internet, and then possible solutions and recommendations were presented TO doctors by US. There is lots of talks about quality of doctors at GHC in medical circles. You have to constantly fight over referrals - they always want you to come in and see PCP first (dont forget to pay co-pay) and then in 2 minutes they say, yes you do need to see another doctor. We knew it already, why did we have to take time off, come in and pay co-pay for something we already knew? Same with tests, what they scheduled for us never revealed anything, but only if you are persistent, they will refer you to something deeper, like MRI, and then you see what is happening. How can you treat something if you dont see a full picture? By guessing? This is why we are leaving and wont be coming back...

Outstanding facility, outstanding doctors, incredibly knowledgeable, patience, empathy! The list goes on. I absolutely love Group Health! They have amazing doctors that have stayed for years! I have visited many of the locations over the past 30 years, and all of my experiences are positive. To all the 1 star, well it must not be GH your upset at. Its really your negative perception, possibly unrealistic wants. Nothing like the VA, or any other for profit Healthcare system. -all hospitals have waits... There is little to no waits at any of the facilities. Worth every dollar I pay for my private health insurance! I love the CO-OP!!!!!!! They stay true to values of people, while providing top notch Healthcare! Dont get me started, ObamaCare/for-profit think they can control our Healthcare. We the people have a say in our Healthcare!!!! Voting member! I love Group Health and the teams/alliances they have started!!! What health care is and should be about, working together!!!
