From a new customer perspective, my experience at Mill Creek Family Eye Center was mediocre and embarrassing. This review is to help other potential new customers understand what they might get for their money. Heres my breakdown. Setting Appointment: Setting an appointment was a breeze. I told the person over the phone I was looking for an eye exam and contacts. Contacts were the biggest priority. New patient documents can conveniently be found on their website. I printed them out to save all of us the time and trouble. Day of First Appointment: Upon arrival, completed patient documents in hand, the lady at the front desk greeted me and pressed the same paperwork into my hands. I told her, "I already have them" and she ignored me. No acknowledgement whatsoever. Later I was told shes new. Why put someone at the front desk, to be the face of your business, if they have zero listening skills? She saw I had the papers in hand and continued her programmed response she probably went through with every other schmuck that walks through the front door. Gross. Eye Exam: The actual exam was pretty vanilla, although it seemed a little rushed. I told the doctor I was looking into new brands of contacts and he gave me a set to try out. Payment/Post Appointment: Including the Optomap, that way I could drive myself home, the price of the exam came out to be around $300. I was able to pay with my credit card and went on my way. "What about the contacts?", you ask. ONE MONTH LATER . . . Having received zero follow up calls, emails, etc. I found myself having to call them and calmly inquire what happened. Did my $300 bill include any contacts? Why havent I received any follow ups? Rather than engage with me or provide any apologies, I was immediately transferred to another line. Great. Weve become so anti-social as a society employees arent even allowed to interact with upset customers. "Customer service" wasnt available and I left a message. That same day I received a call from them. Again, no apologies or sense of understanding. Instead Im welcomed with a rather clinical "Did you like the contacts?" "Would you like to order some?". Regretfully, I put in an order. Conclusion: Two words, "Buyers Remorse". Ive had $50 eye exams at Sears that were more thoughtful and patient than what Mill Creek Eye Center offers. As someone that works sales, it blows my mind to have a customer walk in saying "I want to buy contacts" and never bother to follow up. What happened? Is this what GREAT customer service looks like these days? Was I the exception? Value is subjective, and having a nice office doesnt justify the price tag for me here. Hopefully I will be the first and last customer to walk out of Mill Creek Eye Center having felt remorse.

After having the same eye doctor since a kid, at age 30 I had to find a new one after Boeing changed from VSP to Davis Vision. I wasnt thrilled with the change of insurance and did not want to go to a Walmart or Costco for my eye exam and didnt love the idea of choosing my frames there either. I try to support local businesses and honestly Walmart doesnt need my business, they have enough. After calling a few places and even more Web based research I decided on Mill Creek Family Eye Center. I called to set an appointment and laughed with the receptionist - always a good sign. Had to cancel that appointment but rescheduled no problem and had my exam on Monday 4/4. I walked in to a beautiful eye center! Great parking, great lighting, clean and welcoming. Receptionist, Toshi, was friendly and got me started with paperwork - wasnt too much dont worry! I spent my time looking at frames and it was time to go back. Katie took me through the fun of all the machines and then I even mapped my eye! No dilation!! Incredible. I then was given the option to wait for the doctor for a few minutes or go back and look at frames - I opted for viewing the frames. By the time the doctor was ready for me (wasnt long) I had picked out two pairs of frame, with approval from the eyeframe consultant Allison (thankfully she talked me out of a pair that looked exactly like what I already had and talked me into a awesome new pair! Thanks Allison - and one other consultant but I didnt catch her name.) Dr. Davis was very approachable, humble and funny! I like humor. We chatted about the Boeing insurnace change and he mentioned how it was an opportunity to meet new patients and continuing serving the patients he already had. (Im not sure who has compared VSP to Davis, but if you have, you know VSP is the best and Davis is hardly comparable). My question to Dr. Davis was is if he was going to be in business for a while and he said yes and that his son is in school to become an eye doctor. I love supporting local so this was exciting to me. Dr. Davis was knowledgeable and thorough. I couldnt have asked for a better exam (also, my vision didnt change - bonus!). Anyway. Overall I think you can tell it was a 5 star experience. I cant wait to pick up my frames and go back next year for another exam! Eye health is often overlooked but Mill Creek Family Eye Center made it fun and easy!

This month I had 3 appointments at Mill Creek Eye Center. From beginning to end, all good experiences. My first was my annual eye checkup. The receptionist, Toshi, was very welcoming (as usual) and had me checked in quickly. My appointment was on time. I dont really like going to the eye doctor, but the technician was great and getting me through the various tests & pictures of my eyes, always encouraging. It was my first time with Dr. Voegeli and she was fantastic, personable, and made changed the type of contacts I have based on my use and they have been great. After getting my new prescription, Penny was very patient with me and helpful picking out the right glasses. We narrowed it down to two pair & I was indecisive and she held them for me to bring family for another opinion. I went back to finalize glasses and Penny was helpful and it was minutes before closing time and my sister came with to pick up her new glasses as well. When I went to have my new contacts checked at a follow up it was quick and painless. I have had consistent great service from all people I have dealt with at Mill creek Family Eye & do recommend it to my friends, family, and anybody looking for a new eye doctor or even just new glasses, they have a great selection.

They made a mistake and wont fix it for me. I went in for an appointment in September and saw Dr. Lucas Hoekstra, after the exam he said that I needed progressive lenses. I went and saw Jodi for some glasses. Dr. Hoekstra told her that I was going to try progressive lenses. I explained to her that I was trying to keep costs down and she found me some frames that were inexpensive. I explained to her that due to work I do I would need to be able to see without only looking forward. She said I could get progressives with wider angle. Then she left for her own eye appointment. When she got back we finished the order. After I recieived the glasses they did not work for me. I tried them for a week and frequently couldnt see what I was doing . I sent them an email asking why progressives were my only option and then they gave me many other options that were all less expensive. I did change my prescriptions to lined bifocals, that do work for me, but they wont refund the $185 I paid for the progressive lenses. If they are only going to offer one choice they should be prepared to refund the money if it doesnt work for the customer.
