UPDATE 3-25-2015: First off, Im done with this place. I like being a loyal customer but now they are clearly endangering my pet on top of ripping me off. The straw that broke the camels back, so to speak, was when I recently dropped our mini-dachshund off for overnight boarding. First, off, they charge you boarding for every date on calendar involved, so if its the boarding goes over the strike of midnight, youre charged for two days. You could drop your dog off at 11pm and pick them up two hours later and youd still see the two-day charge. I call BS, but then again, Im used to it and put up with it because I assumed this was what was best for my dog. Secondly, it doesnt matter how often I go there for boarding, it seems there is a new mandatory vaccine and comprehensive exam that you HAVE to get if you want to board your pet. So, what starts out as what should be a $20 charge, turns into a nearly $100 bill; every damn time. Again, sucker me, I know this and keep coming back. Finally, the third and most serious issue: they know that my dog is allergic to the leptospirosis vaccine (because they charged me several hundred dollars years ago to treat her after they gave her the shot that left her all swollen and barely able to breath). Apparently, referring to their own charts before they start pumping our pets full of their combo-vaccines is somehow not high on their priority list. This mandatory vaccine that they gave her that was mandatory before boarding? The DHLPPC vaccine, containing, among others, the leptospirosis vaccine that they KNOW she is allergic to. So when my poor dog has a grand mal seizure in their parking lot they have the audacity to charge me an additional $200 to run a CBC/chem panel and a pheno-barb shot. The vet didnt deny or admit a correlation between the leptospirosis vaccine (though he did admit shouldnt have been given to her) and her seizure. The tech on duty at the time told me that she didnt feel there was a correlation because shes had facial seizures while in their care and given that history, this is to be expected. Please. This dog has never had any kind of seizure EXCEPT when shes been under their care. This dog goes everywhere with us and is fully socialized, so the suggestion that this is merely separation anxiety triggered episode just doesnt add up. A known allergen is pumped into her hours before she goes into the first (and hopefully last) Grand Mal seizure and blame is somehow diverted to us putting her under stress by boarding her is laughable, at best. Maybe its just me. If you dont really care about your animal and dont mind being nickel and dimed to death, then by all means, ignore my review and bring them your pet. As for me, Im done. Im going elsewhere. ANYWHERE else. Original Review: I recently had some issues with customer service being unbelievably slow, but they listened to my feedback, made changes to their computer maintenance schedule (so they dont me sitting around for a half hour while their POS does maintenance) and even offered a credit for future business. Im hopeful that they will make good on these promises, because I like being a loyal customer.

Horrible experience! My mother and I made appointment at 10pm, we then waited in a room for an hour before the Vet came and saw us. After that we waited another hour and half before they came back for my dogs xrays. During the time we waited we could here the staff joking and laughing the whole time as if there was nobody waiting on them. I only saw one other customer the whole time and that was when we came in at 10pm. When they came to get my dog for her Xray my mother, told the lady that you guys should at least let us know a time frame and if your so busy let us know so we can reschedule, the lady then replied well we are ready now. No apology or anything, very poor customer service. Then she continued saying we need to put a muzzle on my dog, which was hard for me because my dog has some trust issues/anxiety and all this was going to do is make it worse for my dog. (I do understand this for the safety of the staff) I then asked if I could go with my dog while she gets the xray and she replied you can come to the hall and then as I was walking back there I was told to go back to the waiting room. My dog was having issues with her leg, this lady then decided to basically drag my dog to the to the room for the xray because my dog was resisting her. All that did it force my dog to use her injured leg to resist her and all this did was add more pain to my dog. Then they returned to tell us basically they dont know what is causing the issue because they couldnt get my dog to relax enough so they could take better xrays. So we paid for what exactly, nothing. I have been to several different vets over there years due to relocation of my job and not once has my dog reacted this way. The other vets knew how to deal with a dog with anxiety. The only individual who knew what they were doing was the head Doctor/Vet. When he met my dog he knew exactly how to be around her. He sat on the ground with me until my dog was comfortable with him. My dog gain his trust with me there very quickly. I honestly believe if he had handled my dog instead of the one lady staff it would have been 100% better. We will not return because of this poor service. Their only hope is to keep the head doctor/vet and get rid of the other staff. Very disappointed in the service.

COMPLAINT DESCRIPTION Took my 4ft female green iguana “Paully” from The Dalles Oregon to St.Frances in Vancouver Washington at 2am in the morning {good 150 miles} drive with eggbound problems. they took her back for xrays they took xrays of her, claimed nothing wrong no eggs were in her as they could see. but when she came out from xrays she then appeared to have a dislocated tail. the tail was not dislocated prior to the vet tech handling her. So with me asking 100 questions of then what is that ? i clearly could see lots and lots of eggs or what appeared to be eggs in the xrays bunched up inside of her, but no that is the digestive system they said. ok then. charged me $185.00 and said there was nothing they could do she’s just old. Next morning took her to hood river oregon {60 mile round trip} the vet there said he needed to look at xrays so i travled back to vancouver to get them and show him. the vet from hood river said clearly there are many eggs that needed to be removed and her tail was dislocated , AND low and behold the vet in Hood river had previously worked at St.Frances , that sent chills down my spine. I pay him $185.00 also without hesitation and without a doubt I needed to find someone I could trust with my Lizard. My lizard is struggling bad and is’nt in very good shape nerve damage due to poor handling, and very eggbound, thank you southwest animal hospital in Beverton Oregon {200 mile round trip} for they got her in emergency did surgery removed close to 60 eggs from her, pretty unbelievable that if I was ignorant I Would believe them at St.Frances and she would have died soon . They need to be shut down. How could they call themselves veterinarians, they shouldnt claim they can help you if they cant then take my money, and damage my pet. My Paully will never fully recover due to the careless handling of St.Frances animal hospital , if I would have belived them my baby Paully would be dead right now THIS PLACE SHOULD BE VERY ASHAMED OF THEMSELFS !!! SHUT IT DOWN or stick to cats thats the only animal they havent a complaint about.
