Oh! Riverdale Vet group would like a review. I will gladly assist. Sure my dog was a patient there for a couple of years. To begin with I took my dog there for a general check up and her regular shots. My dog was very healthy at the time. Then my dog developed a strange decaying skin disease on her nose. None of the vets at the Riverdale vet group were able to diagnose her condition. They sent my dog to two different vet specialists one where they took a biopsy of her nose tissue and another in Brooklyn where they gave her a MRI. Her diagnosis turned into a guessing game, cancer, not cancer. In the mean time my dog got sicker and sicker. The MRI in Brooklyn was an extremely traumatic experience for my dog. When I picked her up she was covered in vomit, drowsy and traumatized. She was never the same after that. She developed urinary incontinence and became an insecure wreck. Even after a MRI the vets could not diagnose her and even argued amongst themselves Not one vet at the Brooklyn practice would talk to me in fact they fully ignored me. All of the above $8,000.00 later Then I lost my business followed by losing everything. I was fully broke. My dog’s health continued to deteriorate and I needed help from a vet. I begged the Riverdale Vet Group for help and they flatly refused – NO MONEY NO HELP Finally I found a vet hospital willing to help. They found that my dog had several conditions all of which were degenerative, her joints, cancer, etc. all of these conditions were fully and completely ignored by the Riverdale Vet group. My dog had to be euthanized that day as she was at this stage beyond help. The Riverdale Vet Group specialist vets and regular vets did not care about my dog and do not care about your pets. They don’t know what they are doing. My dog suffered terribly in their hands. Their only concern is money and how much money they can make. Here are a few more words to describe Riverdale Vet group, corrupt, money-grubbing, selfish, unethical, unprincipled.

I went in expecting a regular visit as a new patient with all my recent vet paperwork. I was told I would only have to pay for the visit, and the pills my dog needed. When the vet (Dr. Angelo Rosado) came in he checked her briefly then explained he wanted to do a small blood test to check liver and kidney functions (to make sure the pills werent damaging her). I was okay with that, it was a bit of a charge but I was okay with it. He briefly mentioned doing more blood work eventually but immediately for me to get the pills we would do the short one. He went to draw me up an estimate and sent a technician in with it. He added on a significant extra charge for all the extra blood work he had just told me we didnt need to do today. When I explain to the tech about the discrepancy he told me this is what the vet wanted done or I couldnt get the pills today. The vet finally came back in to speak to me and denied what he had previously said to me, stating "if I had said that, then it was a mistake." I paid and the VERY nice ladies (Sara) at the desk had charged me multiple times on accident. When I got home, I called back after checking with my bank and had them reverse the extra charges. While I was on the phone, I looked at the PILL BOTTLE I had JUST PAID FOR (which by the way is $10-$20 over the average amount charged for them at other offices) and realized that the pills were LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY FROM BEING EXPIRED!! (These pills are supposed to last for 60days). They told me they had ONE BOTTLE LEFT THAT WAS NOT EXPIRED that I cant wait to go pick up tomorrow with my FULL blood work report. Hope there arent any EXTRA FEES Ill be paying!!!! The office also smelled and was dirty. I will NEVER go back there for another visit. DO NOT RECOMMEND, unless you want to be overcharged, and taken advantage of!!!

The only vet I relied on in this clinic when I lived in the area was Dr. Fried. You can tell that he works really hard. He was always available for my two ferrets, both of whom died from seperate, fatal illnesses. And he remembered their names and always returned a phone call. He also saved my rabbits life; she had a serious eye infection that wouldnt go away with medication and i had to scrounge up the money to get her eye surgery done. Dr. Fried successfully removed her dead eye and followed up with us in the months after. Fortunately, the surgery wasnt too expensive. I do feel a bit weird asking him questions to things I would like to better understand, though whenever I do, I get the sense that he is tired of "stupid" questions, and that they require some form of "common sense." Maybe he just doesnt have the energy at times to not give off that kind of vibe. But it makes me not wanna ask things. At one point, I needed my then-kitten neutered. Had a female vet do the checkup, and didnt really like her. I know a checkup is needed prior to t e operation, but think I ended up paying for extra tests that werent necessary for the prepping. Kitten healed excellently but hated the painkiller meds. He foamed and drooled everywhere whenever he had the slightest taste of it, so we stopped givinv him that. All in all, my personal experience was decent. However, a fellow dog owner of whom I know personally said that this clinic had given her dog the wrong diagnosis, wrong meds, could never remember her pets or her (and she lives in the area) and pushed for having her dogs toe amputated. She got a second opinion and it was just a treatable infection. What I will agree with her is that the people behind the desk are very forgetful. And maybe they should know better for the most basic of questions.

My experience with this vet left me with serious regrets. I will not use them in the future. On the surface they seem caring, but their actions are quite different. I took my cat in on June 29th of this year. When we arrived, my older cat had stopped eating and was lethargic. I told them I had never seen him like this and I did not want him to suffer. They kept him for 2 days on fluids and they told me he was eating again and had more energy. I agreed to a battery of tests and brought him home until the 3rd of July when I took him back for an ultrasound. While home he never touched food and was even more lethargic. When I said he would not eat, I asked what they gave him and bought some from them. He would not touch it. When I picked him up from the ultrasound, they brought him out in 3 wrong carriers. My cat was miserable enough, he didnt need to be shoved in and out of carriers. July 4th, he suffered miserably all day and died that evening. On July 5th, the vet called to say they thought he had some kind of cancer. I told them he had died the night before. I also mentioned that I could not imagine a practice full of seasoned veterinarians not knowing what a dying cat looked like, no response. That was the last I heard from the practice. $1800 over 4 days had been spent with them. A couple of days later, I got an email requesting a Google review. There is an expression amongst pet owners regarding euthanasia: Better to be a minute early than an hour too late. Well, I was days late and I would have preferred even hearing of this option rather than watch a beloved family member suffer excruciating agony. Our cat brought such joy to our lives. He deserved better.
