I’ve been coming to Modern Dentistry for almost a year now. My first visit was due to a dental emergency, and they were the only place that I called who were able to accommodate me with an appointment on the same day! They were even kind enough to call my insurance company on my behalf and confirm that their office accepts it, since I could not talk much that day due to the pain. Initially I was treated by Dr. Bernstein, whose services and expertise were excellent and he was able to identify the issue and relieve me of my pain very quickly. Since my second visit, though, my doctor has been Dimitry Nikotayev. Dr. Nikotayev is not just one of the best dentists, but one of the best doctors that I’ve ever been to. He is very patient, understanding, will hear you out, and goes the extra mile to confirm what the issue is before beginning the actual treatment. Although he looks young, you can feel his expertise and confidence in the dental field within 2 minutes of sitting down in his dental chair. The actual dental procedures are as painless and as quick as one can hope to spend in a dentist’s chair. The staff that works there are great, they always make sure to follow up with you before you appointment, as well as stay pro-active. Everyone is very friendly, the wait times are very good, it does a little busy on Sunday afternoons but what place doesn’t. The office is very clean and well maintained; everything looks modern and hence matches their name, Modern Dentistry. I hear that they do a great job with cosmetic-related dentistry as well, but I have not used it myself so I cannot judge. I highly recommend this office to anyone who has any issues with their teeth.

I first found Modern Dentistry when I was searching (and failing) to find a dentist that accepted No Fault Insurance after I was hit by a car last year. My front teeth were seriously damaged from the accident and I was going to need either crowns or veneers and ASAP. I went to the office and all the staff and Dr. Bernstein were really nice. They worked with me and tried to make the whole experience as painless as they could. They were understanding a few times when I was a bit late, and when handling all the insurance stuff, which can be a nightmare. The office worked with my lawyer to get everything straight and covered by the NF insurance. I had 4 veneers done and these came out beautifully. The process of getting veneers is not pleasant, but the hygienists and Dr. Bernstein did their best and checked to make sure I was ok during the whole procedure. I liked the office and staff well enough that I now go to Modern Dentistry for my routine oral care. Another thing I like about Modern Dentisty is that they are straight with you. They arent going to tell you to get a filling when you dont really need one. (Ive encountered other offices that do this.) They may suggest replacing a silver filling with white amalgam, but they arent pushy. Should you want a cosmetic procedure, its nice that they also do that, so you dont have to go somewhere different. As a bonus the neighborhood that Modern Dentistry is in has some nice little grocery stores and bakeries with local goods. So when I have an appointment I usually poke around the stores a bit and get some local Turkish or Russian baked goods.

I must say, the staff were very friendly, the service was good and professional, my daughter was comfortable and not in pain (she was nervous and they let me be with her), and we never had to wait long. My disappointment is with a matter of inefficiency. We were told upfront that they accepted our insurance; my daughters coverage had temporarily lapsed and they said no problem, they would fill out the paperwork and we would still be reimbursed, since my daughter needed to begin care immediately. When I went for the follow up visit I asked how much cash to bring and they were unable to tell me; they said it would probably be "slightly less" than the first visit, for which we paid $225. So when Dr Bernstein had checked my daughters mouth, he then asked me for $1700 in order for him to proceed, which of course I did not have. I then had to take my daughter home without having her work done; before I left the office I asked if they were sure they would still be able to get the reimbursement because this was a lot more money than we had expected to pay. I am then informed that they DO NOT accept our insurance and they had made "a mistake". Mistakes happen, but this was a costly one; we are now out of pocket for $500 for the two visits, and we have to start all over again finding another dentist. They did apologise, but I am still very displeased. I wouldnt go as far as not recommending them; as I said the service was good overall, but I would advise everyone to ask a lot of questions upfront about money/insurance, and make sure all the info is correct.

I had my first cleaning & checkup visit at Modern Dentistry last weekend (Sunday hours--so convenient!) and I was very impressed! All of the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and they seemed to really care that I had as pleasant a trip to the dentist as possible. The woman at the front desk was super friendly and very knowledgeable about insurance procedures, so taking care of that was a breeze. She also booked my next 2 appointments for me, noting their flexibility if I need to change them, but its great to have them on the calendar and taken care of. The hygienist was extremely thorough, which I greatly appreciate - my teeth and gums feel so clean, and thats my main reason for going to the dentist. And Dr. Nikitayev spent a good amount of time examining my teeth and answering my questions. Ive been lucky to have never had any major problems with my teeth, but with previous dentists, Ive sometimes felt like they just breezed right through and hardly examined my mouth at all. But that was NOT the case today! I found Modern Dentistry through a Google search and reviews, and if youre reading this, feel good about making your next dental appointment with this lovely practice!

I want to thank the staff but most importantly Dr. Daniel Bernstein. I went to see him a few months ago to receive treatment for my broken teeth due to a pedestrian accident and not only was he kind but was extremely positive about restoring my smile back. I was extremely nervous and anxious on the day of the procedure because of the anticipated pain that comes with having crowning placement, not only did he try to humor me about the procedure but gave me confidence to control my emotions. He did an amazing job with my teeth, I couldnt have been more thankful about my smile. Not only do I recommend him as a great orthodontist but also as a person. Im very thankful to have found this location and also thankful for the staff. I have nothing but great things to say. Im very happy with the job he did, now i can finally eat the things that I havent been able to eat in months.

Clean, neat, modern facility and 10 out of 10 Office Staff, but Daniel Bernstein (DDS!) is no dentist to recommend. I am 66. He suggested braces for my front lower teeth crowding! I said no. He also said, “Gum erosion has nothing to do with brushing or brush type”. Then he ordered three X-Rays. I thought he needed them to find out about my crowding and gum issues. But he did not look at them at all! He just said, “The hygienist is not in today. Make an appointment to see her.” I said, “For what?”. He said, “She will show you how to brush and other things”. “But you said brushing has nothing to do with gum erosion”, I exclaimed. He arrogantly told me to make the appointment to see the hygienist if I wanted, tossing the folder to a Staffer. My visit was all negative: I paid, got wrong info, and zero service. Is he really a DDS (from the US!) or just a money-guzzler?
