I received "cryosurgery" -- liquid nitrogen sprayed on a spot on my face. The spot is very close to my left eye. The PA did not tell me to close my eye -- I decided that might be a good idea, so I squeezed my eye closed. She did not state that I might NOT have any mark, swelling, or scabbing on the spot, which I have not. Its as if nothing was done. 100% of all descriptions on medical websites indicate that when your skin is treated with liquid nitrogen this way, there is some swelling or puffiness, the skin will scab over, and the scab will fall off by itself. None of these websites-- I read 30 of them about this subject -- indicated that your skin would remain looking exactly the same as if you had not been treated with the liquid nitrogen. Hmmmmm. I did not in any way feel that the PA was interested (nor would she devote the time willingly) in sticking around to talk to me after she was through with a VERY rushed full body skin exam. She was far too abrupt. People need to have conversations. Cutting people off, interrupting them, trying to finish their sentences, etc. ...none of that is "health care." This has been a problem in many doctors practices for 20 years -- it is not a recent development. Physician, heal thyself. Your office staffs have turned into data-base entering call centers, and you have turned clinical management over to a new flock of young people who have NO people skills.

I went here in December for a checkup. The MD was over an hour late (my appointment was at 830 in the morning, so this was impressive), no one gave me updates on when she could be expected. When she did finally show up, she didnt mention anything about her tardiness, she hardly looked at my skin, and then she gave me SEVEN different prescriptions that I was to use on my skin for acne. I told her I use simple soap and water for my skin, then she prescribed all those products? I went in to get a spot checked, not for acne treatment! My skin isnt flawless, but its not a train wreck either. Plus, she was pretty rude about the age spots when I asked if there was anything that could be done about them ("no, you know youll just be getting more"). There were no instructions on how to use anything (some were for am, some were every other day, etc.). I had to ask the secretary for clarification. When I went to Wegmans, I spoke with the pharmacist for further clarification. I have dry, flakey skin in the winter (during my visit). The pharmacist was baffled at why the MD would have even prescribed these products as she says they were all very drying! The ONLY pro is that they had a very short wait time for me to make an appointment as a new client. Not worth it though. I would never go back here.

Concerned about a mole or growth? Expect to wait 6 weeks or more for an appointment and that is for established patients. And it isnt because they are so good. I agree that their approach is assembly line with marked disinterest in their own patients. My husband had to wait about 2 months for an appointment and he worried the entire stretch. My impression is that theyd prefer to specialize in cosmetics rather than dermatology. Most dermatology offices have that long a wait for the first appointment but established patients can get appointments in a timely fashion. It could be considered malpractice to make an established patient wait weeks for an appointment about a skin lesion he was worried about. Id avoid this office at all costs. We wont be back.

I moved to the area and needed a new Dermatologist ASAP! I called and they were able to get me in right away. Everywhere else said 6-8 weeks for new patients but I was almost out of my meds. Thank G-d I found this place! The nurses are super helpful and so was the PA! I was in the middle of taking Accutane for acne and was running out of my medicine. They made it so easy to switch providers. Accutane is a difficult drug to take that requires blood work/urine samples every doctors visit so the medical center having a lab is also very convenient. Yeah I really have nothing bad to say about the place. Even the waiting room was nice and I liked how they had a little store to buy lotions and potions from. Highly Recommend!!!

I saw a couple of negative comments about Dermatology Associates of CNY and I just wanted to say I had a great experience here. Im sure every day, situation and doctor is different but I went in for a general exam/full body cancer screen, purely cautionary and was treated really well. The office was incredibly busy but I was seen after only waiting maybe 10 minutes. I was a little nervous but Elaine Cretaro F.N.P. and her staff were very friendly and reassuring throughout the entire process. The staff was professional, I was treated with respect and all my questions were answered. I am happy to be a patient here.

My advice to this office is to spend $10/hour. Hire someone to answer the phones and to do nothing else.. It is just that simple. The office is obviously profitable. Spring for a dedicated staff person to simply answer phones. If your hope is that your patients can get through to your office, then your system is not working. Menu after Menu to leave a message is not what is expected by patients. I dont want to leave a message and I cant get a call back while working. Im not unique this way. Answer the phones!

DONT GO HERE, THIS ISNT THE 1ST BAD EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD HERE, NOR HAS MY FAMILY. MY AVERAGE WAIT TIME WAS OVER AN HOUR. OFFICE STAFF AND OFFICE MANAGER ARE CLUELESS. THE NURSE PRACTITIONER MADE EXCUSES FOR BEING BEHIND. OFFICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT IF YOU WANT TO BE SEEN ON TIME YOU HAVE TO BE THE 1ST PERSON IN THE MORNING OR THE 1ST PERSON AFTER LUNCH, PLENTY OF OTHER OPTIONS FOR DERMATOLOGY DOCTORS IN THIS AREA, WILL NEVER GO BACK, UNLESS I HAVE AN AFTERNOON TO SPEND WAITING IN THEIR OFFICE.

I would think twice about coming to this office. I have been tying to resolve a billing issue caused by their office. Can not get a hold of anyone. Because of an internal issue and their past billing company. They sent everyone to a collection company. I have been trying for days to resolve it can not get a hold of anyone. Tried calling the office manager that proved to be of no help. I feel I should not even put one start to process this complaint

The worst place i have ever been. I went to this office for many years and every appointment i had, i ended up waiting about an hour passed my appointment time. The people at the desk ignore you when youre standing there and are not friendly. Doctors dont take the time to sit and talk with you, and let you ask any questions. I always felt so rushed and not valued as a patient. Do not recommend!

Expect to wait an inordinate amount of time on the phone listening to music punctuated by "your call is important to us," which is apparently not true.
