I will never take my dogs back to Dr. Houri. He is an arrogant butcher. My dog was scheduled to have surgery, I arrived at the specified time (8:45am), Dr. Houri gave my dog the anesthesia shot while I was there and the tech told me the surgery was scheduled for 9:30am. She also stated she would call me when the surgery was finished and to expect a call between 10:30 and 11:00 am. By 12:30, still no call, so I called them to check on my "family member". Dr. Houri had broken his foot 2 days before skiing and was on crutches. So when I called, the tech told me they hadnt done the surgery yet. I asked her if his foot was okay to stand on or if it was bothering him and that I could reschedule. When she went to ask Dr. Houri about rescheduling, he immediately got on the phone and started yelling at me, stating "Why are you calling? I am going as fast as I can! What is your problem?". At this point, every red flag popped up in my head. I proceeded to tell him "I have had pets my whole life and I have NEVER been spoken to this way by a vet, EVER. I wanted to know what HIS problem was with me calling to check on my "family member"? I was supposed to receive a call after the surgery and that is why I called to check on him. He said "who said we were doing the surgery at 9:30". When I told him his tech did, he said "that is where the lack of communication was". Then when I pressed him as to why he would even give the anesthesia shot at 8:45 am if the surgery wasnt scheduled for 9:30, he had no answer for me. He made a 6" incision across my dogs stomach for a pea-sized nodule. He left stitches in his stomach and ear after the so-called "follow up visit for stitch/staple removal". He is, in my opinion, incompetent and should NOT be allowed to examine an insect. His arrogant attitude just adds insult to injury. I have been in the medical field for 25+ years and if any doctor/vet/nurse or anybody in that field ever spoke to me or my patient that way, they would be brought before their superior to answer for it. Who does this guy answer to? Left a very bad taste in my mouth and I tell everybody who asks me what vet I use to run in the other direction from PetCare Animal Hospital in Monticello, especially Dr. Houri!

Dr. Quick and his staff have always gone out of their way to care for our Snowflake, Gato and "Kitten." His staff is well-trained and compassionate. Dr. Quick himself has gone above and beyond the call of duty. One late night Snowflake began to bleed from someplace where she should not have been bleeding and I called Dr. Quick. The answering service passed the message onto him and he called us back immediately. As it turns out, he was within minutes of arriving home over an hour away and in spite of that, he turned around and sped back to meet us at the office. He took care of Snowflake. If that isnt dedication, then I dont know what is. Even off-duty, he acts as if he is on-duty. One time we were in a local market shopping and passed him and his family. One of our pets was having an issue earlier that week which he was made aware of. So, there in the market, on his personal time, he starts inquiring as to the status of our little beastie to make sure he was alright. Dr. Quick is one of those doctors who looks upon his patients as if they were his children, I think, based on how he has interacted with our pets AND he truly cares about all animals. I cant count the number of times he has taken in strays, injured animals off the street, dropped off by concerned citizens, etc, and nursed them back to health, sometimes asking for help but always bringing the animals back to health if possible. What sort of doctor does that? A REAL DOCTOR. And there you have it. I am sure there are other caring vets in the area but as for me and my wife, we would not trust out little Snowflake, our Gato or our "Kitten" with any other doctor.

I brought my cat in for a checkup and shots. The interior of the office and exam room look to be a tad rundown. It did not feel neat and clean or professional. They would do well to redecorate the office and exam rooms. For example, in the exam room I was in, one of the corner tables had wood peeling off of it. I would hope that a doctor would make enough money, and care enough about his office, to keep his furniture clean and well cared for - as a reflection of how he would treat his patients. Since my last visit things my have changed, donno. Additionally, when we discussed my cats weight, the Dr. told me a story about how he killed one of his own cats by trying to keep its weight down. A doctor telling me stories of how he killed his patients (or even worse, his very own pets) does not instill me with confidence in his ability to treat my pets. While I do appreciate his honesty, some things are better left unsaid. Finally, as my cat is aging, the Dr. insisted I do "baseline blood work" on her costing more than $100. I was told they would call me and let me know the results, good or bad, as soon as they came back. Months later, no call. A huge deal? No. But, I expect a medical personal and their staff to be a bit more on the ball when it comes to the things they say, promise, and do. Will I return in the future? Yes. My mother swears by him and things may change for the positive. If they should then Ill amend my review at that time.

As an animal rescue, we depend on our Vets more than any other people or professions. Our experience with Quality Pet Care have been outstanding. Because of the nature of what we do, we see many abandon, neglected and abused animals. Dr. Quick and his staff are always ready to step up to the plate and do what is necessary to help to ensure these animals are taken care of properly. If you are looking for a compassionate, gentle and knowledgeable Vet to care for your pets, we would highly recommend Dr. Quick and his staff.

Dr. Quick cares about animals. That sums it up. The staff is always professional but very warm and friendly. The office and exam rooms are always very clean and they do not smell. One quick "hero" story. One time late at night our little Snowflake was experiencing abnormal bleeding. I texted Dr. Quick, who was already getting close to home about an hour away. Without hesitation he turned right around and drove back to the office to care for her. Now, THAT is an authentic physician.

My son dropped our dog Dexter rather than dropping his new tablet and accidentally broke his leg. We took him to Quality Pet and they gave us immediate attention. They continually checked on Dexter throughout the entire healing process and they worked out a doable payment plan with me. I rate their office with 5 stars. Thank you all for all your help, my dog healed 100% and because of the great care we received, this is now Dexters vet. Very satisfied customer!! :)
