Here is what happened during my “physical” -He took my pulse and pulse ox, measured my weight and height, took my blood pressure, asked what my complaints were, and took blood. -For the bloodwork, he inserted the needle, no blood, pushed it in farther twice, and still no blood. Finally he tried a different spot. I told him it was very painful and that I had a better understanding of what my diabetic cat goes through when I give him insulin. He said “THE THINGS PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY DO FOR THEIR ANIMALS.” I suppose he’s free to insult me for caring for another species but don’t insult the country that’s giving you a job. I had a huge bruise from his first attempt to take the blood that took 2 weeks to go away. -He did NOT take ANY history at ALL, did not ask about any medications, did not listen to my heart or lungs, look at my eyes/ears/nose/throat, or take my temperature. He also didn’t investigate any of the areas that I had concerns about by examining or palpating them. Yet he recommended multiple specialist for me to see regarding these concerns. -Lastly, I called my insurance company to see if the tests he wanted needed authorization. One test did, but he wouldnt do it. He said the people at my insurance company were untrained and didn’t know what they were talking about. I asked why he was being so difficult, and he said I was the one being difficult. I asked why can’t you just do the authorization? His answer: he’s never had to do it before and he wouldn’t do it. I double checked with my “untrained” insurance company and they confirmed authorization is needed.
