STAY AWAY!!! After three visits and three bad experiences with Dr. Vasquez, my family and I have found another local optometrist. Dr. Vasquez is most inflexible and she has actually yelled at me during two of my three transactions with her. In one case my son was overcharged by $60, an error that I caught a couple of days after his visit. This my have been pure sloppiness (versus dishonesty), as the assistant that handles the front desk and billing is incompetent. At any rate, I tried to clear it up with Dr. Vasquez and this ended-up with her literally shouting at me over the phone. In another case, after I ordered contacts for my son at college, the contacts company called Main Street Optometry to verify the prescription and they refused to approved the re-order. Again, when I called the office to try and clear this up, I was screamed at by Dr. Vasquez and then she hung up on me. We have since taken our business elsewhere, and we have told all of our friends in Northport to STAY AWAY!

Im pretty surprised about the negative reviews. Ive been going there for years. Both Drs. are friendly, and I find their staff engaging when looking for a new pair of glasses or working the numbers to see how best to use insurance. If youre looking for McDonalds fast food service this is not the place. I never expect it to be, so I never have minded the family friendly / small town feel & service (which has never struck me as slow). Check it out for yourself...

I prefer to keep my business local if at all possible and going here is a no-brainer. Prior to my first visit 4 pairs of glasses ago, I went to the big chains and got tired of dealing with different people all the time and no one taking responsibility for mistakes -- which happened all too often. Big chains or warehouse stores are fine for buying tires or electronics but with something as important as my vision, I wouldnt take the chance of going anywhere but here.

First time contact experience transitioning from bifocals. Dr. Arlene Vasquez-Young explained in great detail,and showed with her own personal experience, what to expect and how to take in and out. Very professional, friendly, state of the art equipment. Staff very warm and welcoming. Constant attention and making sure I was helped and doing ok.. highly recommend this office and eyeglass choices too! Many trendy glasses to choose from as well!

It seems sometimes like people only rate places when they are unhappy. I was also surprised at the negative reviewa. I hae been going here for several years because dr vasquez is the only one who has ever gotten my prescription right. He took patience and time to get it right. Not inexpensive, but totally worth it. Great service.

Great location and service. Dr was great and did a great job with the examination. I had Lasik many years back and had not been to an eye Dr in quite a while. He showed me my retinal scan and how everything looked and took the time to go over all my options. The support staff there is so helpful and friendly.
