Being in the health care field myself, let me set some things straight before giving my review. 1) if you find yourself waiting and people who came after you are examined sooner, ITS BECAUSE THEY CAME LATE TO THEIR APPOINTMENT. I know its frustrating and unfair but that has nothing to do with the doctors qualifications and it surely does not undermine her expertise. 2) with Obamacare, doctors have a very difficult time with insurance. You dont know how your insurance tries to weasel out of paying physicians and other health care professionals. So when the staff at this office ask you for a co-pay, you should NOT give them a hard time or take it as an insult. Now, as for the rude receptionist, I completely agree. I believe there are cultural differences present, and her attitude is mistaken for brash when in reality its just a culture thing. Not justifying her behaviour, just giving a reason behind it. I would strongly advise the doctor to hire a new receptionist. However, poor experience with an arguably nasty office staff does not and should not be reflected on Dr. Shnitkind herself. She is lovely. Compassionate. Understanding. She told me what my problem was, how it was caused, highlighted future prevention methods, and explained the treatment plan. I have zero complaints about Dr. Shnitkind and if I am ever met with another issue, I will without a doubt make an appointment with her.

I would give this place negative stars if it was possible!!! If you come to this doctor plan to clear out at least a 3 hour block of your time to see her! You will be waiting in her small stuffy waiting room, and then waiting again in 1 of the only 3 examination rooms she has! She will ask you the same question over and over again about your concerns but some how never actually hear them because she isnt listening!!! She does NOT care about your concerns, she is set in her ways and will not adjust her "one size fits all" advice for any reason. She is just awful. Her only concern is that her receptionist collects your co payment on your way out. I just saw her and she suggested that I come back in a week so she can have time to "calculate the correct dosage of medication I should be on." The only thing she is calculating is how much money she can collect from me. Tired of this woman! Please do yourselves all a favor and choose a different doc, I would not want any one else to have to deal with such ridiculousness as I have!!!! Oh and FYI, she gave me a shot but DID NOT clean the area before she punctured the skin! TERRIBLE!

Shes a great doctor. Very kind and soft spoken, but is very attentive. On my first visit she checked my moles and took a sample of two; one ended up being pre-cancerous which she removed the following week. The removal/surgery went great, and she had to dig in there and make sure she got it all. The end result was good, thankfully. She was a breath of fresh air after seeing Dr Lederman, or shall I say Dr Ledermans PA as its impossible to get an appointment with her and not wait for hours just for her to shuffle you out of her room. Dr Shnitkind is great, and Ive reccommended five people to her who all love her as well. She has a new office with more rooms, which is a plus also.

First off, the doctor herself was friendly and receptive to my questions and concerns. However Im giving this place 2 stars because I arrived to my appointment on time and waited 1 hr 45 min before I was even called out of the waiting area. Then an additional 20 min in the room before the doc ever came in. The receptionist were not necessarily rude, just a little short and clearly didnt want to have a conversation with you. I honestly think they just have too many patients for just one doctor, hence all the comments about waiting forever to be seen. Overall the office was clean. If I could give the doctor and her business two different ratings I would.

I wont go back to this doctor. The receptionists seemed friendly, but their side conversations in front of the patients in the waiting room were inappropriate and annoying. The wait was long, and the overall experience with this doctor was nothing special. I found her personality to be bland, not to say that makes her a bad doctor, just not for me. I like a more personal experience. She does seem to spend a lot of time with her patients but I am unimpressed. Do your reseach when looking for a doctor and dont just call the first one that pops up on google like I did.

I decided to see Dr. Shnitkind based on all the great online reviews I had read. Im pleased to say that the reviews were right on target. Dr. Schnitkind is kind, caring and patient. She spent a great deal of time listening to my concerns and examining my problem. I felt at ease with her and was not rushed out of the office as I have experienced with other dermatologists. She even went out of her way to call me after my appointment to offer me additional prescription samples because she had realized from my files that I didnt have prescription insurance. Wow!

I do not understand the bad reviews on here. Dr. Shnitkind is wonderful. I have went to many dermatologists in the past and none was willing to try to figure out what was going on, they just refered me to other people who doctors who do not accept insurance. On my first visit to Dr. Shnitkind she suggested a treatment option to try and we got right to it. If you do not have an early morning appointment you will be there waiting all day. I always get appointments for 9am or earlier and the wait is not too bad.

An Excellent Dr! Highly compassionate, very knowlegable, always returns phone calls to her patients and will do everything in the best interests of her patients. Very few doctors that I know will go out of their way for their patients, and this is one of them. I feel very safe in her hands, my kids go to her and I will never use anyone else. She will never do any procedures that are not necessary and doesnt go for your pocket as some doctors do. I will recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Worse experience in any doctors office on Staten Island, I went to her for a skin problem I delevloped babysitting, she didnt even say one word to me and just wrote a prescription and wouldnt even look at the rash I was trying to show her. Then she left the room as if she was afraid of catching whatever I had, then her little assistant came in pretty much to kick me out and tell me my visit was done. Dont waste your time

A friend of mine has told me about Dr. Shitkind because she knew I was looking for a good dermatologist to address my persistent problem with adult acne. Dr. Shnitkind turned out to be an excellent doctor. The treatment regimen she picked for me seems to be really working, since Ive noticed a significant improvement in my condition over the last weeks. I will definitely recommend Dr. Shnitkind to my friends.

Dr. Shnitkind is very professional and helpful. She explained fully what my situation was, and gave me the proper treatment and advice. I had many questions and she provided all answers without rushing me. The Doctors new office is very clean & modern, with plenty of space and a pleasant atmosphere. I very highly recommend Dr. Shnitkind. :)
