Dr. McGowan and Dr. Bruno are fantastic! You would have a hard time finding more compassionate, knowledgable, and capable vets anywhere else. I first met Dr. McGowan years ago when she was at another practice and immediately loved her (much to the surprise of my boyfriend who says I complain about every vet Ive ever brought my dog to see). I have since followed her to her and Dr. Brunos new locations in Westbury and Oyster Bay. While there are vets closer to me I happily make the trip in order to see them. I have a "people-iffy" dog with some health issues that sees Dr. McGowan, and whenever Dr. McGowan walks into the room my dogs tail starts wagging, she gives kisses and rolls over for belly rubs...something she doesnt do for anyone. Dr. McGowan (and Dr. Bruno on the occasions Ive seen her) never seems pressed for time; goes over everything, answer all my questions, explain diagnosis and long term expectations, take time to go over care options and help determine what the best course of treatment is based on the dogs lifestyle, activity level, etc...and what will ensure the best quality of life for my dogs. If I call with a concern, Dr. McGowan is happy to call me back, or get on the phone on the spot, in order to determine if an office visit is really needed..something most vets would just have their staff get on the phone with me about and tell me to come in in order to go over it. Its nice to know they arent doing everything in order to pad their own pockets. The entire staff at Village Vets is also great. Not one thing I can complain about!!! Highly Recommend them!!! ( If you go to Westbury facility just be open-minded as they are in the process of bringing the office up-to-date with current remodeling. Their office in Oyster Bay is beautiful so Im sure the remodel plan for Westbury will have it looking just as great!)

I am so happy to have found the kind, caring staff at Villlage Vets of Westbury. They were very helpful and informative at my cats first initial visits. But when we were hit with illness, they helped squeeze him in for an appointment almost immediately upon calling, and saved us a trip to the ER. I am so pleased with their professional, heartfelt care for all the pets that they treat, as well as the cleanliness of their exam rooms.

Absolutely excellent service. I brought my frenchie here last week to get checked out, they gave me a same-day appointment, diagnosed the problem, gave us meds, called me a week later to check in (Sunrise Animal Hospital does not do this). I have to say they have won my business, I will be coming here for all my vet needs.
