Clean facility. Only two of the many members of the staff had serious attitude problems, but my complaints were addressed properly when I stood up to them and went over their head. Some of the staff are great; and the rest are all pretty decent people. You have 2 nurses and 2 respiratory therapists in addition to a charge nurse taking care of up to 36 patients on any given shift. There are a few other assistants to suppliment them. On occasion I felt they were under staffed for the number of patients and the amount of attention each one needs. This becomes a big problem when a patient goes critical and requires a whole team. There really should be a doctor on the floor 24/7, but there is not. One of the more uncomfortable issues I had to deal with is how the doctor to patient-family relationship is non existent. A number of doctors take turns rotating and call themselves Hospitalists. You will barely get to know who they are unless you live there. They make their rounds; write the orders; and then disappear. I got the distinct feeling they want to have as little to do with the patients as they can get away with, but that is not just them. It appears to be the trend everywhere. Not to say the doctors will not do their best to address your questions and issues when you do get to see them, but I have to say I always felt like I was being hurried by them which makes it easy to get flustered into forgetting to mention, or ask something important. The most serious issue was the stage 4 bed sore my loved one contracted during his stay at Noland. They were not turning my loved one over, nor were they cleaning the wound everyday like they should have done. I did not realise how bad it was until it got infected and smelled up the whole floor. They tried to tell me the smell was normal. I dont think so. That was when I put my foot down, but by then the damage was done. Even after the doctor wrote orders to change the dressings every day they were missing days. The staff did not take care of the bed sore the way they should have. Best advice I can offer you is to have a family member pretty much live in the room with your loved one. They have a fold out bed and an easy chair to use for that purpose and it is allowed. That is the main reason I give it 3 star thumbs up rating. You will not get a 4-5 star facility unless you are wealthy and connected. Not sure there even is another choice in Montgomery besides Noland anyway. The cable TV service is adequate. The cafeteria is nice and the prices are not outragious, but they are not cheap either. It was a scary 50 day experience for me, but my loved one made it despite a few close calls. Two of them because my loved one was not restrained. If the staff says your loved one needs to be restrained LISTEN TO THEM. There is a very good reason for it. This place is serious business peeps. Your loved one would not be in this facility if their condition were not serious. Be vigilent and most importantly try to drop in to visit (inspect) your loved one at least two to three times a day if you cant arrange for someone to stay 24/7. I was only able to spend on average 5 hours a day total and I got myself pretty stressed out and exhausted coming and going. I am glad that I learned to interpret the important readouts on the monitors and looked at them often. Beware your loved ones CO2 level building up when they come off the ventalator and progress to the collar. Watch that oxygen concentration readout on the monitor. It may be your eyes that save their life by sounding the alarm and getting them back on the ventalator in time. Were it not for me arriving one day at just the right time my loved one very well may not have made it since the staff had dropped the ball and were oblivious to the seriousness of the emergency until I walked into the room and immediately sounded the alarm. I recall the night two patients passed away one after the other despite the staffs best efforts. Forget trying to get a staff member to come to your room when that is going down. Visting hours are 24/7.

Zero stars worst hospital ever! Outside looks nice but inside is nasty and run down. Staff seems incompetent and more concerned with gossiping and playing than treating patients.

Horrible Staff, horrible attitudes. Nobody does their job nor do they seem to take care of patients in need. DO NOT use this facility
