If I could rate the experience any lower, I would. My first visit to this office was January of 2015. We had just moved to the area and happened to walk into this office on Halloween where we were greeted by Dr. Pile and some of his staff. He seemed very friendly and said he took our insurance so I told my wife to set the appointments for routine cleanings with them. Shortly after my appointment, I received a bill related to my routine cleaning, which is covered 100% by my insurance, for a specific x-ray. Naturally, I called to inquire as to why this x-ray was not covered by my insurance. I was told by Daniel that my insurance only covers this specific x-ray at 100% once every five years. I explained to Daniel that I moved around four times in the last five years, had four different dentists in that time, and had yet to run into this issue. Daniel explained that I could not have received proper treatment without this x-ray. I asked what happens during the other visits if I can only get this specific x-ray every five years. Daniel said that they would use a different x-ray for those visits. I replied by asking why I wasnt offered that x-ray to begin with. After several phone calls back and forth, Daniel said that the Doc would take care of it. I thought, okay, that seems reasonable since it is obviously not needed if I can only get one every five years. I should have known better but I scheduled a second cleaning in August. I walked into the office and Daniel asked me if my insurance had changed. I replied that it had not. I got my routine cleaning and made sure that I didnt received the special x-ray. Everything seemed normal. Well, I just received a bill in the mail. Of course, I called Daniel to inquire as to why I was getting the bill. He said that the explanation of benefits for my insurance changed. What? In the middle of the year? That makes no sense I thought. He said that I should contact my HR department or my insurance company directly. I said I would do that but that he should resubmit the claim again. Daniel explained that my benefits were only covering 60% now. He then decided to mention that it could have been because the doctor was selected to be a part of Delta Dental Premier. Well, thats not my insurance so why would that have to do with anything, I thought. I called my insurance company to ask why they would change my benefits during the year. I was told by my insurance company that my dentist was no longer in network. Wait, what? I asked how would I know that? The lady responded that the dentist might tell you. I said that the office had not but did ask me if MY insurance changed. I should have asked did YOUR insurance coverage change? I called Daniel back with my new found knowledge. Daniel said that they would not have alerted me that my coverage changed because they didnt know it changed. Lets go back to his statement about the dentist being selected for Delta Dental. Seems they knew it changed then. I asked Daniel when that change took place. He wasnt sure but offered to call my insurance company to find out. He called me back about five minutes later and said that my insurance dropped them at the beginning of April. That was four months before my second visit. Seems like enough time to know that I am now going to a dentist out of network. IDaniel explained to me that I am the first one where my insurance didnt cover the out-of-network at 100%. When I confronted Daniel with the fact that it should have been explained to me that their insurances changed, he replied that it technically is my responsibility to make sure that they are still in my network. Hmm, I went to you in January and you were in network. I came back in August, you are no longer in my network, and dont alert me to the fact that YOUR insurance coverage has changed (because I tell you when mine has changed). Does this seem like the honest practices of someone you put your trust in for the care of you and your family? I will not be going back to this circus. Good luck.

I have been seeing Dr. Pile since we moved to Arizona 2 1/2 years ago. He and his staff are the best! Anne, his dental hygienist, is super -- very gentle yet thorough. My dentist in Half Moon Bay had been recommending laser surgery to repair some gum disease. Since Anne started taking such good care of me, my gums have improved dramatically to the point no surgery is required! At the same time, Dr. Pile has very capably replaced two failing crowns and a couple of very old fillings. He is very knowledgable and personable, explains things well, and does very good work - excellent results with all of his procedures. I have always been a high anxiety dental patient. No more. While going to the dentist is still not among my favorite things to do, I am now more relaxed and comfortable that my check ups will get a thumbs up. Thank you -- Dr. Pile, Anne and Daniel -- YOU ARE AWESOME!

Dr. Pile is hands down the best dentist Ive ever been to: hes skilled and knowledgeable, with fantastic bedside manner and professionalism. He and his staff are courteous, empathetic and have that spark that drives them to excel beyond expectations. My first visit with Dr. Pile four years ago was the first time that Id ever had a cavity filled and didnt have post-op soreness; Ill never forget what Dr. Pile told me when I mentioned that the next visit: "I treat every patient like theyre a member of my family." If only every clinician would strive for this level of excellence... Very grateful for everything that Dr. Pile and Element Dental has done!

I found Element Dental by researching my insurance for dental coverage in my area. I then went to the reviews left for Dr. Pile and his staff. Everything was 5 stars and I agree with them as well. Everyone was very courteous, Stephanie was very informative in explaining all the details of my visit. Dr. Pile was warm, caring and thoughtful and Amy was a fabulous hygienist! Daniel did a great job making sure I understood my estimate for future treatment. I think the office is very clean and welcoming. They all did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend Element Dental to everyone I know!! Sincerely, Norma Jasman

Element Dental Centers is a wonderful Dental office. I recently had hours of work done and Dr. Pile was beyond amazing. I had gone in for a routine cleaning and found out I needed to have further work done. Dr. Pile completely adjusted his schedule to fit me in and spent quality time fixing my teeth. Dr. Pile made me feel as though he takes pride in his work and truly cares about his clients. I also noticed the camaraderie in the office. It says a lot about how a business is run and you can tell he respects every one of his employees and they do him. I will be back regularly. :-)
