Yo, first let me you tell why Dr. Heetland should be your optometrist, as soon as you walk into his building, you are greeted by beautiful, friendly staff members especially the ladies! I would holla and get them digits but I cant cause I got a kid and my girl would kill me. But you have good eyes, Dr. Heetland! Namsayin? Second, Dr. Heetland is very professional and will educate you about taking care of your eyes, this and that. All jokes aside, I took my girl to see Dr. Heetland to get her eyes checked as she hasnt seen an optometrist in a very long time. She wore colored contact lenses and never took them off for years. She had always complained that her eyes were bothering her so I told her to go see an optometrist. After her first examination with Dr Heetland, he showed interest and was concerned about the conditions her eyes were in. Dr. Heetland found scratches on the surface of her eyes and dryness due to the contact lenses she wore. My girl never felt or noticed as she had gotten used to it. Dr Heetland said that it was not normal and that her eyes were in pretty bad shape. Both of her eyes (OD/OS) were at -7 (Rx) at that time. Dr. Heetland advised her to start using dailies instead, prescribed her some milky eye drops and to see him every month until he sees improvement. He told her that it was his "project" as he doesnt see a lot of patients with this condition very often. This shows that Dr. Heetland is very passionate about his job and will go above and beyond with helping his patients. He kept an eye on her (get it?) until her vision improved. It took about 4-5 (I could be wrong) visits within a span of a year. Her vision went from -7 to -4. Her eyes definitely improved and now she can almost see through my soul and how much more handsome Ive become. Thanks Dr. Heetland!

I come from several generations of optometrists, so I do have some basis of comparison when reviewing Insight Eyecare & Eyewear. My relatives would be blown away by the professionalism of all the staff members, from the front desk to the optician to Dr Heetland, and by the technology employed in the exam itself. I personally dislike having my eyes dilated and found the Opti-Scan option of great benefit. I also like how the image of the scan allows the doctor to compare one exam to another in subsequent years, without relying on subjective memories of what he observed during the dilated exam. I was having trouble with my near vision and found the exam to employ fine tuning aspects I have never encountered before. The showroom of frames itself is a thing of beauty--so many styles to choose from should you order glasses after your exam! The only drawback was the length of time it took to receive my glasses--a couple days shy of a month! For me, this was unacceptable as Id already been having problems seeing close up. In fairness, Dr. Heetland did compensate me for the inconvenience. However, I am accustomed to receiving glasses from an optometrist within a week to 10 days max. I found this practice via Yelp reviews for "Best Optometrist." In them, others had criticized the length of time for receiving their glasses, but I was assured those cases were anomalies. Given my recent experience, Im not sure they were. I do hope Insight is able to resolve this particular issue. Its the only thing that keeps me from rating the practice five stars.

My visit to Insight Eyecare and Eyewear was very positive. I called and made my appointment for the very next day and filled out all of my insurance and personal information using the online form in the comfort of my own home so when I arrived I didnt have to sit and fill out paperwork. The front desk staff was very kind over the phone and in person. Everyone was on time and ran smoothly. My eye doctor Christopher Heetland, OD is very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. I felt comfortable and informed. Afterward, another woman spent one on one time with me explaining all of my insurance benefits and advising my eye wear choice. It was a pleasant appointment I am very impressed. Great environment, very clean, easy to find.

First of all I went to an appt in April or Early May. I gave them models of the frames that I wanted to order. Two months later I call and they told me oh the frames will be in by the end of the week. So they didnt come in that week. It took another week. Once they came in I picked out a pair that were grey, which in reality I ordered them in black. I was told they would be here fast because they were available and not on back order. Two weeks later I call and they are now on back order and I still dont have glasses. Last year when I went there they were efficient and got my stuff fast. It seems to me that they arent really worried about their patients. So coming up on 3 months now that it had taken to get glasses.

I have been a patient of Dr Heetlands for over eight years. When he moved offices from Central Phoenix out to Chandler, even though it added 10 more miles to my drive, I gladly made the switch. From day one, Dr Heetland has been attentive to my care and is always very thorough. I have a thin area on my eye that he has continued to watch over the years and lets me know what I should be looking for in case something happens to that thin spot between office visits. His staff is always very courteous and has always gone out of their way to make me comfortable. I would not even consider trying out another optometrist just to be closer to home or work. Insight Eyecare and Eyewear is definitely worth the drive.

One of the best experiences Ive had with a medical appointment of any kind. Smooth, easy, and fast process to check in. I was offered coffee or water while I waited and was taken back pretty quickly. Short wait after the initial evaluation by the Dr.s assistant, then saw Dr. Heetland. His exam was the most thorough Ive ever had (in a good way) and he not only asked a lot of questions about my lifestyle to determine what preferences I had for contacts and glasses, but he answered every question I asked. I never felt rushed, which I greatly appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend this office and Dr. Heetland to anyone based on my experience there.

Pleasant experience yesterday for my initial visit to Insight Eyecare. My eye exam was thorough and indicated the need for new lens as my prescription had changed since last check up. That is when I met Paige, eyeware specialist. Paige was great. Her knowledge of the product line was good and her honest reactions back to me allowed us to select two pairs of glasses which I purchased. Thank you, Paige for your help, attitude and assistance. I look forward to picking up my glasses in the near future and using your services in the future. In addition, I noticed Drs choice of radio station and found that to be comforting. Thanks.
