This vet was awesome. He stayed late to take my dog who needed an emergency appointment. He was calm and collected the whole time. He gave me all my options and let me decide the treatment I was comfortable with for my dog. We decided she could go home for the night. The next morning he personally checked in to make sure she was no worse & confirmed I wouldnt need to drop her off for further monitoring. He paid attention to the time I said I started work and made sure to call me an hour in advance of that time. In addition to excellent treatment he charges a fair price. Ive always been charged at least $200 plus for a vet appointment regardless the reasoning. This time he did a thorough exam, provided 3 prescriptions, and did a fecal test and cost under $200! He will be our primary vet from here forward. Update: After two years, I have used this vet for everything from day boarding to rabies shots. I recommend them to my friends and they have also really enjoyed the service. My dog LOVES going here. For example, she tugs at the leash to get inside the building and is slow to walk out. The front desk staff, intake staff, and the vet all greet my dog by name and immediately get on her level to pet her. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We had been going to Dr. Wayne at another hospital and loved him so much we followed him to his new place. We had a sick cat, Dr. Ryan saw her was fantastic with her and us. They even called 2 days later to check up on her. Could not ask for betters vets. We just Love them and the staff is very friendly. We had to put our PitBull baby down. But here is the story. We took him in with a lump, Doc Wayne, took X-rays and ran tests. Run tons of tests and ultra-sound, found he need surgery. They stayed late to do his surgery and found out it was cancer. Demon was having a hard time recovering and Doc Wayne and Doc Ryan called each day to check on him, we took him for fluids, Doc Wayne even made a house call (at no charge). After 7 days of him not getting any better, we decided to have him cross the Rainbow Bridge. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do. NEVER have we had a Doc stay after his shift to meet us as Demon passed in our arms and we decided to cremate him, so we brought him him. Docs cried with us and shared stories with us, they had been seeing him for his whole 11 years. Doc Wayne and Doc Ryan are simply the BEST.

I want to personally thank Doctor Wayne Svoboda. Today is Christmas, their office should be closed. However, Doctor Svoboda spent his Christmas with my Bob, doing everything he could to save him. In the end, no matter what he did, he could not. Even after Bob passed, Doctor Svoboda stayed and did a necropsy (autopsy). Doctor Svoboda is not just a normal vet, he is the vet to all the most of the Police, Sheriff, and Military K-9 units in the Phoenix area. To say he knows his stuff is an understatement. Bob could not have been in better hands. I just got off the phone with Doctor Svoboda, he conveyed the results of the necropsy. It turns out that there never was a blockage, rather Bob had stomach cancer. The cancer had created a huge whole in the stomach. There is no medical procedure that could have been done to save Bob. Doctor Svoboda, thank you. And it goes with out saying, I highly recommend Hayden Road Animal Hospital.

Unfortunately, this vets main concern is their profit, not your pet. I moved here from out of state and brought my animals here because it was convenient to my location. Since, Ive discovered their prices are 20-40% higher than other vets in the East Valley area. In addition, they constantly pressure you into buying their "wellness plans" which even with the 20% discount are just a bunch of over-priced services. They also like to hold you hostage on things that you need prescriptions for (i.e. Prescription Diet, Heart Guard, etc.). My dog ran out of Heart Guard, and his next appointment is in 2 months, but they wouldnt give me any more (not even 2 doses to get him to his next appointment) without a heart worm test. This was very odd to me because he is only seen in their office and was up-to-date on all appointments, so how could he need the test before his next check-up? Over it....finding a new vet.

My wife and I took our 9 month old boxer puppy (they can be a handful if you’re unaware) for both basic and intermediate dog training at Hayden Road Animal Hospital and we were extremely happy with the results. Liz is a fantastic trainer and works with you to develop the habits that YOU WANT in your dog not just what they think that you should learn. We are now looking to utilize Liz’s fantastic training with our 5 year old Boxer (who did go through another training program at a large retail chain). I would highly recommend Hayden Road Animal Hospital not only for their veterinary services but the fantastic training programs they offer. The one thing that this vets office has that sets them apart from others is their ability to make you feel welcome and that they are always their for you and your pet. Matt & Jessica

Dr. Wayne Svoboda has been OUR VET for almost 30 years. Ive never had anythiing but a five star opinion of him and his practice. THIS REVIEW ORIGINALLY ADDRESSED MY DISAPPOINTMENT IN THE DELAYS I EXPERIENCED DURING MY RECENT VISIT, BUT IN DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM BY PHONE WITH DR. SVOBODA, IVE COME TO UNDERSTAND THAT OF COURSE THERE WAS A REASON FOR THE DELAYS THAT DAY, AND I WOULD NOT EXPECT ANYTHING LESS THAN THE TIME AND ATTENTION GIVEN TO THE PATIENT (AND OWNER) IN QUESTION.. I WAS VERY APPRECIATIVE OF THE TIME HE TOOK TO CALL ME AND EXPLAIN. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY DOCTOR SVOBODA HAS ALWAYS HAD FIVE STAR REVIEWS, AND IM HAPPY TO CHANGE MY RATING TO FIVE STARS. THANK YOU, DR. Ive taken my pets and working dogs to Dr. Svoboda for over 10 years. He is, by far, the best in the business. Always knowledgable and pro-active in his treatment of any and all animals. Dr. Svoboda has always taken the time to explain the treatment options for my animals and what he feels are the most affordable options available. As a professional dog trainer, I refer all of my clients to Dr. Svoboda knowing that he always keeps the best interest of his patients (and their owners) in mind. If you want the absolute best veterinary care for your pets, I would recommend that you schedule an appointment at Hayden Road Animal Hospital.

We came across this vet as one of the many clinics that offers free exams after adopting from Maricopa County. We where impressed that the offices offered separate dog and cat entrances. Being a cat owner this is important since vet visits can be already stressful. The waiting room and exam rooms where very clean. Bethany the animal tech a self proclaimed crazy cat lady was very kind and knowledgable. Dr. Sura, as well was also kind and knowledgeable went over and beyond my expectations. We found their services fairly reasonable I reccomend using the Wellness Plan they offered . I feel confident we will be returning.
