We took our cat here for her sensitive urinary tract issues (What we now know is Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, no thanks to this animal hospital). As her condition seemed to be urgent, we were in and out of the offices 4-5 times over the course of a few weeks, and every time we were seen by a different vet. Every single time, the vet seemed to be disorganized and unaware of our previous visits, and we had to explain our situation over and over. Dr. Lederer was extremely unprofessional and caused us unnecessary stress by immediately telling us it could be tumors, internal bleeding, etc. when in fact it is something very common and rarely anything serious. He spent 15 minutes telling us that he is retired, no longer a vet, and he just "helps out here sometimes." Then he told us that he used to use an invasive procedure of his own making that heavily sedates cats for days while he flushes them out with ice water. "Thats not something they teach in schools, its just something I came up with. We might do that on your cat if we have to." This man sounded like a complete quack, who at the very least had a horrible bedside manner. We eventually ended up having to take our cat to an emergency clinic in the middle of the night as she was urinating quite a lot of blood. We got more answers that one night than we did from Longmont Animal Hospital in 4 visits. Several hundred dollars later, come to find out all we needed was to switch to wet food and keep on eye on our cats hydration because of the arid CO climate. Please save your money and sanity and go elsewhere.

We were treated horribly by another clinic in town. We brought our cat here after an brutal attack from a large animal. She had severe injuries, but the vets treated us and her with the utmost compassion. They have given us all of our options and even let us take her home to pass peacefully at home. Some of her options were very grave. We brought her home to spend the last night with her in her favorite place, in my lap. While she was at home she got up and walked around which was a miracle. She had a possible spinal cord injury that prevented her from walking for a few days while being hospitalized. After calling the vet back during the evening hours, she decided to fight and the vets are behind us. They rallied and found her a blood donor from a personal pet from an employee. They never demanded high dollar tests that were unnecessary and were mindful of my teachers salary. They have called us at home to inform us of her conditions as well as check on her while at home. They kept care of us and our grief as well as our cats pain. After her night home, her spirits and will to live turned around. She is going to have surgery to repair her hernia today. I am grateful for the kindness and compassion here from all staff and the Doctors. I will send everyone I know here in the future. The costs of treatments are middle of the road, but well worth it. Regardless of Miss Cleos outcome, I will bring all of my pets here in the future. <3

It is downright dangerous to bring your pet here. I worked here for 3 months. In that time I witnessed several deaths due to improper anesthetic techniques and lack of monitoring. A technician named JoAnn choked a pug as a means of restraint. She also let an anesthetized patient fall off of the dental table while unconscious and entubated and just left the animal on the floor and laughed about it with one of the doctors. It landed on its head and the ET tube could have ripped the animals trachea. This pet could have been seriously injured. They talked an owner into doing a dental procedure on a 13 year old dog less than 12 hours after an allergic shock episode in which it nearly died, and did not monitor blood pressure or use IV fluids which are minimal standards of care. This animal died while under their care. I witnessed a family bringing their dog for having respiritory arrest and turning blue. The hospital refused to give this animal oxygen until the people gave them money. This caused the poor animal to suffer beyond inhumanely. It also died. The technicians are the ones pulling your animals teeth during dental procedures instead of the doctors. This is illegal and they can loose their license for doing this!!! They do not have the proper training or certs to do this. These people are evil and money hungry. They put on a good front, but behind the scenes the clinic is hurting your pets.

My family has been taking our pets to the Animal Hospital for over 40 years, and the care our pets have received has always been excellent. When my dog Mattie suddenly got sick after hours last summer, Dr. Dreyer was absolutely wonderful. He met me at the front door and examined her in my car. Mattie had cancer and suffered a ruptured tumor which caused massive internal bleeding and was unfortunately unable to be saved that night. Because it was night there was no staff to provide the care Mattie needed immediately, so Dr. Dreyer sent me to the emergy clinic. When I arrived there, they were waiting at the door for me because he had called ahead to tell them I was coming and had also sent her records to them. The care that Dr. Dreyer showed my beloved dog that night was extremely comforting. He also followed up with a phone call and a card expressing his sympathy for my loss. I have never had anyone at the Animal Hospital recommend a treatment that was not necessary or do anything that would have put my pets in danger. Everyone has always shown the utmost love and care for my pets. I have since gotten a new puppy that I take to the Animal Hospital for her care. She receives hugs and kisses from all the doctors and staff every time she is there. I have always found the doctors and staff to be very loving to my pets, and I would highly recommend the Animal Hospital to everyone.

I have nothing but praise, thanks and respect for the wonderful people who make up the team at the Animal Hospital~ they truly care about each and every animal in their care, and gave my old dog a quality of life his last few years that would not have been possible had they not been the kind, expert people they are. I cannot say enough about Dr. Ferguson, who did everything in his power to keep my four legged friend comfortable and happy through his extensive knowledge and caring application of accupuncture. Coqui gave me a tremendous gift by hand delivering that same old dogs cremains to my home while I was recuperating from surgery so I could have my old friend home with me again. I cant say enough about a group of people who continually go far beyond the call of duty to care for each and every animal as if they were their own. Every interaction; whether on the phone with Linda, Coqui or Jennifer, or in the office with my current dog being cared for by Michelle, JoAnn, Kim or Karen, has been absolutely positive. Thank you everyone for delivering the kind, quality care that only you could provide!
