Ive taken a few of my pets to this hospital in the past and every time Ive been horribly disappointed. 2 years ago I took my new miniature pinscher puppy there due to an emergency. He had already been vaccinated and had his check up at a different hospital but one day I was crarrying him into the house from the backyard and he kept squirming to the point where he fell out of my arms. I was horrified. He landed wrong on his leg and couldnt walk on it. I immediately tried getting him in to his current vet but they didnt take emergencies and couldnt see him for a week. I called white Tank and made a same day appointment. When I came in the staff was short but polite. I was greeted by a vet tech which wanted to hear the story and took the vitals of my puppy. She left and returned with the vet who was completely uninformed by the tech, so I had to repeat my story all over again. The vet looked at my puppy and came up with a huge treatment plan. X-rays, pain medication, etc. I was confused because we dont even know if its a sprain or break and they are already prescribing take-home medication. I said yes to x-Ray and hold on the pain med. after he X-ray they came back and showed me the images. It was blurry as hell and I could make left from right. I worked in animal hospitals and Ive seen x-rays and this just looked like crap. They said it was a bad shot because my puppy was squirmy. These x-rays are digital so it costs them nothing to retake the x-Ray but they insisted that Id have to pay extra for retakes. The vet pretty much said it could be broken, it might not be broken, not really sure. So what was her next step???? An EXPLORATORY surgery. Pretty much open him up and check things out. From what she said the likelyhood of them repairing the damage may be pointless so insisted we amputate his leg. WHAT? So I asked the cost for this and they quoted 2500$+ for this amputation. I told them hell no. Paid for the office visit amd x-rays and left. I sought a second opinion by my puppys current vet since they had a last minute cancellation a few days later and they took their own x-rays. My vet came in and was baffled at White Tanks. He said there was no break, no fracture, just a possible sprain and that he should recover. He did recommend pain meds which were a fraction of the cost for the meds white tanks wanted me to buy. Two years later and this dog is running around like he never hurt his leg. Sprints and jumps on the couch. I am very happy I did not listen to that hospital and amputate my dogs leg. They jump to erroneous diagnosis that cost a fortune. Do not go there.

I have to say this review does not count for the treatment or diagnosis of any of my animals but is strictly for the office manager Ms. Williams. My son went in to the office and had his cat put down because she was very sick and old (17 years) at that time I told them I wanted to make a payment for a specific dollar amount to help him out. I made the payment and from that point forward he was to make payments on HIS account. Well for one reason or another he still had a small balance on his account that went unpaid. They sent him a few letters and of course, it’s not MY mail so I did not open it. I just put it in his pile of mail. Unbeknownst to me they were letters stating he had a balance. To my surprise I get a collection letter in the mail stating that I was on the account....really? Then why did you never send ME a letter or simply pick up the phone and call me to tell me that I would be sent to collections if this balance was not paid. I NEVER received one letter or phone call regarding this matter (and the account is NOT even in my name!) So I call and the account said I would have to come down and pay the account in person after being very rude not even offering any explanation as to why they never called me or sent me any letter personally regarding the past due account. I went to the office and paid the account and got a receipt of payment and still no apology or explanation stating why if they were sending me to collections why I was not notified. I was actually asked to leave because I mentioned the wrong doing and that I should have at least received an apology for the error. Sadly, I also have had an account with this place but I will not be back due to your lack of effective communication and have no conflict resolution skills. I just wanted you to be accountable for doing something that was unethical.

One star is an over statement! I had a horrible experience with this vet which is a shame becuase I have had very good experiences with their sister vets like Arrow Animal Hospital in Glendale. Arrow animal hospital particularly Dr. Wilms saved my dogs life from pancretitis. He is amazing, I wish I could have said the same about White Tanks. My dog went in for vomiting and loose stool, they did their x-rays and blood work next thing I know I am leaving with a bill of $525.01, really because when I go to the Dr. for these types of procedures I dont think it has ever been $500+. I honestly felt like the vet just wanted to rack up the bill instead of tending to my dogs needs. I got my dogs blood work back via voicemail and the vet said she would like to speak with me about a treatment plan for Mini, Mini had some elevated pancrease enzymes which sounds a lot like what happened to her brother ( who was successfully treated at Arrow). Once i called the vet back the receptionist let me know that the vet would get back to us before they closed; which raised the question, what if she needs treatment today? Anyways I demanded that a vet call me asap in case we had to bring her in for treatment and fluids, luckly for us they did call us back but it took over an hour and we didnt need to bring her in. Long story short, it seems like they have more interest in my money than actually helping my dog which is a shame. What happened to the days where vets became vets because their care for animals not for their pay check.

Ill start with the positive. The vet has been very nice and their hours and availability are good. Now for the rest. Their prices are ridiculously expensive. I took the time to do a price comparison, calling another local vet for the exact same lab test. White Tanks was $117 and the other was $61. I made sure I was comparing apples to apples. You do the math! I think they keep their vet visit charges in line so you wont realize that they are gouging you on everything else -- people tend to shop office visit charges and they know that. Once youre in there and they say you need to have a blood panel (Chem 10 if you want to comparison shop) done for $93, it might seem high to you but you have no point of comparison so you swallow it and walk out with a $300 vet bill for practically nothing. After I did the comparison shopping on the test, I decided to take my business elsewhere. In addition to the cost, I dont think the quality of care is good. The vet prescribed a med for my cat and the label on the container said in bold print: FOR DOGS ONLY. MAY CAUSE RENAL FAILURE AND DEATH IN CATS. I was thoroughly disgusted that she would prescribe such a risky and off-label use, especially without even mentioning to me that she was doing it! So, all-in-all, they are charging double what other places charge and for lousy quality of care. I suspect they pay to have their reviews scrubbed, so this may not be posted for long!
