Stay away from this hospital! I was impressed with the doctors care and knowledge upon my initial visit. However, when I returned my dog for the recommended dental procedure a few weeks later, I was completely hosed. The bill was almost double the estimate I was given, which amounted to an almost $300 difference. They run a business with deceptive practices. While the doctor can charge whatever he would like, he should be upfront about his costs so that consumers can choose his business versus others and know what they are walking into. When I gave the doctor a chance to rectify this situation, he was dismissive and condescending. While I understand the cost of pet care, I will not return my animal to a practice that treats their clients in this manner and is not upfront and honest about their costs.

Ive been very pleased with Dr. Schulman. I find him quite knowledgeable and compassionate. He was recommended when we adopted our beagle Henry Charles from the SPCA. Henry suffers from PTSD and Dr. Schulman has been wonderful in working with Henrys special needs. Over the years weve lived in several states and visited many vets for our pets and I believe Dr. Schulman is one of the most knowledgeable. Some other reviewers have stated that they found him to be rude. I believe that is a misunderstanding. Dr. Schulman is not a gregarious person and is more reserved, but definitely friendly (especially when you build a relationship over several visits) and he is quite kind with our beloved Henry. In fact, Henry doesnt even mind going to the vet, which is a big plus, considering Henry is rather shy.

We have had very good experiences with this vet over the last 3 years -- for everything from routine yearly checkups & dental cleanings to grooming & boarding for our older dog. The staff are very friendly and accommodating & they shower our dog with affection whenever he walks through the door. Its hard to reconcile some of these other poor reports with our experiences, which have been very positive. Their prices arent cheap, but I dont think they are any more than what weve had to pay elsewhere. I would definitely recommend them based on our experience.

Dr Schulman and his staff are wonderful! I researched many vets in the state of Virginia to find the best care for my boxer. We drove 3 hours each way to get his opinion and treatment suggestions. I was so impressed with his communication skills and ability to explain the process of diagnosing and detail explanations of test results. I felt included in the process. The staff was very caring, polite and accommodating to my needs. It was worth the drive and worth every penny! My only regret is that I cannot keep him for my regular vet because of the distance.

Dr. Schulman (and his excellent staff!) have provided exceptionally good care for two of my cats for over twelve years. Dr. Schulman has years of experience with cats and dogs, and I have the greatest confidence in him. He is a great listener, and is always willing to spend extra time to explain medical conditions, medications, etc. I particularly like his conservative approach to pet care. (I have had other vets and specialists push for unnecessary tests and meds for my cats...)

I have almost twenty years of experience with Crozet Vet, and they are everything I want in a Veterinary Practice: kind; skillful; helpful; cheerful; healing; and compassionate. They also board animals, which is convenient. They will treat your pet if needed while you are away, a relief if a pet has special health needs. I am grateful they see my cat, who is 19, and have treated other beloved pets over the years. I recommend.

We have been taking our GSD to Crozet Vet for 10yrs. Dr. Schulman and his staff are fantastic. They are true animal lovers and have amazing patience and compassion. highly recommend them! We recently had to put our old dog down rather suddenly and the staff and everyone there were extremely compassionate and kind. A couple of them were crying with us.

You could not pay me to use this vet after 8 years they havetaken meto court for a bill and the dogs in question died after 3 years old so they have been gone for about 5 years or more no dogs and a bill they are tring to collect alot more than should of for a bill really people
