Ive just started going to Ashby with my five year old lab/hound mix. For almost five years, my dog has had a small, persistent issue that our former vet basically told me was in my imagination. When it became worse, we sought out another opinion, and boy do I wish we had gone to Ashby sooner! Dr. Bell listened to our explanation of the dogs symptoms, did a thorough (yet gentle!) exam-- she didnt even insist on putting the dog on the table, but crouched down beside her instead-- offered us x-rays, and eventually found a minor birth defect that makes our dog prone to a particular type of infection. With a week of antibiotics, my dog is bouncing around like a puppy again, and we know how to respond when this happens during the rest of her life. I was so relieved that I actually teared up as I left the Ashby Clinic. Dr. Bell was kind, patient, and seemed to actually like my dog. Outside of the office visits, they have an online pet portal where you can track your pets medical issues, and they respond promptly to email and phone inquiries. Ashby offers a level of service and expertise I thought we just didnt have in our community. Im so glad to find out otherwise! I am extremely satisfied and would highly recommend Ashby to all Harrisonburg-area pet owners.

I called ahead yesterday morning to alert them that I had an emergency situation with my Saint Bernard. Dr. Whitman, and the vet techs assisted me with unloading her, as gently as they could. My dog was very sick, and needed urgent care. They took her back immediately for x rays, blood work, and an IV drip to hydrate her. These people treated me like family. Dr. Whitman spoke to me with empathy and compassion, knowing the outcome wasnt good. Dr.Whitman allowed me to spend the morning in the back with my girl, and even came back to talk with me and check on us several times. Sadly, within a few hours of taking my baby home, she passed away. Dr. Whitman and her staff did everything they could for us. Dr. Whitman even called me at home to check on us, and just lend a sympathetic ear. I appreciate the kindness we were shown. Their efforts at Ashby Animal Clinic did not go unnoticed, as I will be forever grateful to them. I will take all of my pets there in the future. I cannot recommend them enough- please visit these wonderful people for a wonderful experience. They truly do care about you as the pet owner, and your fur babies.

My Siamese cat wasnt acting herself for almost two days. I just got her from my family because of my father passing and mother going into a nursing home she had to be kept in the family. I called every single vet in Harrisonburg not one could see her that day. Ashby clinic was so nice n considerate that they felt she was in need asap. They got me in quick but yet never been there before her original vet is in Woodstock. They got her back to her usual self by antibiotics n pain meds for her pain n fever. That night she was back in my arms like always. Needless to say they are my babys vet now.I highly recommend then they are so tender and loving to all the animals I seen in there. Thanks ashby animal clinic you guys are rated #1 in my book. Ive bragged how well you are with my sweet cat n to others. I hope this review will let people know how great you guys are the whole team is wonderful! God bless!!

I am very pleased with the professional care my Boston terrier, Bailey received at Ashby Animal Clinic. First, the front desk staff, Justin was very friendly and worked with me to get an appointment that fit my schedule. He quoted me correctly on prices and even called to confirm the appointment. Dr. Emma Inman and the technician was AMAZING! They treated Bailey extremely well and she is a very hyper active dog. They were very careful to make sure Bailey never went toward edge of the table and they carried her around in their arms. My previous vet’s office didn’t show the care, love and most important the respect that, Ashby Animal Clinic gave to Bailey and me. I recommend if you are looking for someone to treat your pet like family go to Ashby!

As soon as we walked in they were scared because of his breed, hes a Rottweiler but would never hurt a fly. These little dogs started barking and growling at him so he started barking. He was sitting at my girlfriends feet calmly after he quit barking and they isolated us to a small room away from everyone because of his size and breed. When they gave him the shot they didnt rub it to numb it or give him a treat to calm him down. They shoved the needle in and he freaked out because they didnt try to do it like they would for any other dog. If you have an "aggressive breed" that isnt aggressive dont come here. I wont come back. If I could rate -5 I would. I want my money back for the attitudes towards my dog.

Our beagle, Macy, needed to have some growths removed;one from her eyelid which was causing her irritation. As always, Dr May laid out the options, and when we decided to go with the surgery, estimates were given. We knew upfront what we were dealing with and had procedure options discussed. Dr Bell called after the surgery to let us know that Macy was fine and when we could pick her up. Morgan went over the discharge procedures and asked if there were questions. We are very grateful to have a dedicated and knowledgeable team working with and for us, including Winnie, Tiffany, and Lisa at the reception desks. Thanks to all.

I have NOT used their services, but am super impressed by their courteousness over the phone, attention to detail in answering my questions, and super-quick response with a quote for services. Spoke to (2) females and my opinion is the same for both. Great first impression in professionalism. However, Received quote for dental services of $546 on the low end to as much as $1,008 on the high end. Thats the most expensive quote yet ...even more expensive that Valley Veterinary Hospital, the next most expensive place that I have had quote me for dental service. Would give 5 stars, but cant with that outrageous quote!

Ive been taking my animals for Ashby for years and have been consistently impressed with all of their staff. I recently had to bring my dog in and ended up being scheduled with Dr. Inman, whom I had not met before (I had previously seen Dr. Bell, who was wonderful). Although I was nervous about explaining my dogs complicated history to a new vet, Dr. Inman was amazing. She listened very carefully to what I was telling her, even asking for clarification about details that I thought were insignificant, but turned out to be crucial. I was thoroughly impressed with her skills, her manner, and her care.

I have been to several veterinary clinics over the years. I would recommend Ashby to anyone looking to provide proper care to their pet. It is difficult to come across people so kind and that genuinely care about animals that are not theirs. My typically nervous dogs are excited to come to this clinic and greet the staff with tail wags and kisses. I always feel as though options are thoroughly explored with me, taking into account budgets and what is best for the dog. I will never leave this clinic again. Juno, Naomi, and soon Dakota are so happy here :)
