After graduating college in early 2012 and landing a great job I decided it was time to go back to the dentist to get some much needed work completed. I Google searched "best dentist offices in Tempe, AZ" and a long list came up. After doing my research I decided to test out Shalimar Family Dentistry, and boy am I glad thats where I decided to go! Since day one the staff has treated me like I was a patent my whole life and I know thats because they want to keep me a patient for the rest of my life. I obviously started with just a simple cleaning and they did an amazing job. Afterwards the doctor came in to to have a second look and they both agreed that I needed a cap for one of my teeth. The price was very reasonable and affordable and the work that was completed was/is terrific. To this day I forget that it is even in there it fits so perfect and feels exactly like one of my real teeth. They always take very good care of me and have me leaving with a little goodie bag filled with all the essentials I need for the future. They always give great advice on better cleaning techniques, as well. I always recommend them to my friends whenever the subject of dentistry come up because they take such good care of their customers. I would never attend another dentist as long as I live in the sate of Arizona!

I went into this office as a new patient about a year ago. The cleaning went well and the staff was friendly and nice. However, they seemed to have glossed over my medical history when they recommended a certain prescription tooth paste. For context, I have Chrohns, and was in remission for about a year prior to my appointment. After a few days of using the toothpaste, I started have tremendous stomach pain again. I had no idea what was causing it until my doctor mom saw me using the toothpaste and raised a red flag. It turns out that the prescription toothpaste they recommended to me is a known trigger for my stomach condition. Within a few days of not using the toothpaste I was back to normal with no pain or discomfort. I was very dissapointed in Shalimar Dentistry for recommending that toothpaste given my condition. I understand the dental hygienist not knowing, but you would think that the actual dentist would have know about the correlation between certain stomach conditions and that prescription grade toothpaste, or maybe he just didnt look at my chart because Im 23 years old and look to be in good health. Either way, if you have a stomach condition like I do, you should probably go to a different dentist.

Ive been going to Shalimar Family Dentistry for almost twenty years. The office and dental staff are always friendly and willing to help. In all the time that I have been going there I have never seen any of the staff exhibiting signs of having a bad day or just giving the appearance of going through the motions. The office itself is as clean and as new looking as the day of my first appointment. Most of my experience has been with Dr Forney and he is just great. Above being very knowledgeable and professional he has a very calm nature about him. The other dentist also seem to be friendly and they all truly seem to enjoy their work and in helping others. The hygienist also are very friendly and do an excellent job in cleaning teeth as well as helping teach proper care of the teeth and gums. Lately Peggy has been my hygienist and much like Dr Forney she is very friendly professional and also has a calm nature about her. I would recommend Shalimar Dentistry to anyone seeking dental care.

Ive gone to Shalimar Family Dentistry since 1997 and have been extremely happy with them for all those years (and thats saying something because I can sort of be a bit critical :) ). The office is always clean, everything in good working order. I have seen this office expand over the years and new staff come and go. I am always very impressed with the quality of and customer service skills of everyone in the office. While all of the dentists are wonderful, I am partial to Dr. Forney. His compassion and caring over the years has been great. I can tell you that I "dentist cheated" once over the years when I moved out of the area. I immediately saw the error of my ways and came right back! Now I drive from wherever I live just to make sure I still have access to a great dentist!! SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Arianna was my hygienist and was very thorough explaining everything she was doing including reviewing film of my teeth and going over problem areas or things for me to watch and consider. Dr. Jenkins was kind and caring and went over some of the same areas Arianna covered with me and while I have two teeth needing attention in the near future Dr. Jenkins was very low pressure. Karen in the office was very helpful in going over billing and savings plan options. Even though I have a regular dentist back home in Oregon I felt so comfortable here I’ll try to work in future dental work with trips to PHX area. This is a professional and clean office with staff members I was exposed to who showed genuine concern and interest in my dental health and not just out to sell or pressure me for dental services.

Shalimar Dentistry is by far my favorite dentist office! Dr. Jenkins is so good with my whole family. I have 3 little kids that go to Dr. Jenkins. Him and his assistants have been so kind and patient with them, and me! My 4 year old just had to have a cavity filled and he did great. Dr. Jenkins did not even have to give him any shots...thats how wonderful his practice is. My daughter loves to come and get her teeth cleaned by Anne and she listens to everything Anne tells her...if Anne says to floss every night she will, and she does. They really try to teach my children the importance of flossing and brushing their teeth and teach them "how" to do it and make good habits. If you need a good dentist for you and your children this is the best place for both.

The crew at Shalimar Family Dentistry are just that---a family. I have had the privilege of being a patient for at least 5 years. Our relationship started as an emergency patient in need of a root canal. The former dentist from another practice delayed treatment and the pain brought me to tears. Although my threshold for pain is very high, what I experienced was not nice. Dr. Forney and his crew came to the rescue---took me in upon the first call as I was driving from the other dentist. I have been there ever since and satisfied. Now my entire household are patients. I have given out referrals--as I was referred to them. I appreciate them all!

I have never liked going to the dentist... I always felt so judged and small any time a dentist would talk to me about my teeth. So when I started to slack on my dental visits, my husband suggested I come to Shalimar Family Dentistry. He had been seeing Dr Jenkins his entire life and he said he never had a negative experience with them. So I decided to give it a shot. They were sooooo nice! I immediately felt at ease the first time I went to see them. They have never once made me feel judged and they are always so gentle. Its been about 2 years since I started seeing them, and I will never be looking for a new dentist again!
