This a great place where you can expect honest diagnosis. My dog had been treated by another vet in long beach who couldnt cure a rash on his underside. They gave him allergy shots, pills, antibiotics, fungal creams (basically tried everything). This costed us over 200 dollars to treat. When we took him to animal care clinic Dr. Salvador immediately recognized it as infected flea bites. He said just switch the way you attack the fleas. He told us the ADVANTAGE flea treatment that works for normal dogs wouldnt work for our since his hair is long and that it would be hard to get it to work effectively. He gave us Comfortis which is a pill that contains enzymes to kill fleas and is not harmful for our dog. This turns your dog into the flea treatment (so you dont have to spray your yard etc.) His rash cleared up in days for only a fraction of the cost (we needed flea treatment anyway). I was really impressed by his knowledge, honesty, and ability to teach us more about how fleas work. My dog is happy and hasnt had fleas or infections caused by the bites in over a year!

I was so lucky to have come across this place on such short notice and in an emergency. My dog had a very nasty, ugly in-grown nail in her paw that was causing her pain. I searched up many places and called them inquiring about their prices and ALL were very expensive; some even suggested she might need surgery which I did not have the money for. So I just choose one out of the many pet clinics I googled and this is the place I choose randomly, and it was the luckiest gamble!!! They did a wonderful, painless, quick job. She didnt need surgery because all they did was apply an anesthetic balm on her paw; so if some clinics/hospitals suggest surgery and you KNOW it is not necessary do NOT agree; instead come here! I dont remember the cost but I know it was less than $50, including the cone. It was cheap and effective, and we both left satisfied. Just an afterthought: dont let the appearance and location of this place fool you because all that matters are the vets who care and do a wonderful job.

Dr. Sal is amazing at his job and truly cares about his patients and their families. You can tell his staff and him love what they do. Ive had horrible experiences with other vets who recommend unnecessary procedures, want to charge a ridiculous amount of money, and dont genuinely care about pets. Dr. Sal is honest and comprehensive of the fact that healthcare for our pets can get expensive and only makes recommendations that are sensible. Ive been going to him for at least 4 years now with my 3 adopted dogs, which range from Chihuahua, Lhasa Apso, and German Shepard, he shares the same love for any breed. Ive had to hospitalize one of my dogs with him and I know they are in the best hands possible. There is always a wait to see him, even with an appointment, but I dont mind considering that my pets get the best treatment available. Thank you for all that you do Dr. Sal and the Animal Care Clinic Staff!

Horrible receptionist, she was a blonde heavy set woman. We walked in with our dog and no one greeted us. We came for the walk in hours and we arrived 10 mins after it started. Not only were we there first but we ended up waiting over an hour and half. After the hour and a half mark I approached the receptionist to ask how many people were ahead of us, in answering me she was rude, and kept talking over me. I tried to ask why 2 people were seen before us and she said one was an emergency and the other she refused to give me an explanation. After the attitude and long wait, my boyfriend and I decided to take our business elsewhere. If thats how the front desk girl behaves I dont want to know how the actual doctor will be. We will definitely be spreading the word to all our neighborhood pet owners to ensure no one has to go through the same thing.

The first time I took my dogs to get there shots, I took them here..Not easy taking a 200 pound Great Dane or a 15 pound mean old Chihuahua, but we managed. when I went to take my dog back to the car..my Dane wouldnt get in. After about 15 minutes of tugging, pulling, begging and cursing,, 2 of the techs came to my rescue to help me load up my beast. When the time came to put my "Big Baby" down, Dr. Sal came to my home with the same 2 techs, and with me holding his head, my friend left peacefully. They took great care in loading him up and treated him with respect. On such a sad day, its always great when you have a doctor who understands the pain you are feeling. I have recently adopted a new pup, and I will be taking her here for all her shots and treatments. they are low cost, and they really care aboutyour pet. What more could you ask for?

The vet and his staff were great. I had brought my dog here a few years ago, so when my cat needed to see a vet I took her to see him. I didnt receive the best of news with her but he was very nice and explained what I should do to care for my sick cat. Today his staff was very nice when I had to make the call I was dreading since she was diagnosed. I feel good knowing that she was in great hands and I would recommend him to anyone. I thinks his prices are reasonable but I love the fact that the vet and his staff treat each animal like they are important and sympathise with you as an owner.

This is the only place I trust taking my pets. My family has gone here for over 23 years to current. Dr. Sal is the best Vet whom is thourough, understanding and offers reasonable prices. Animal care clinic is such a friendly and welcoming place compared to other clinics who do not show the same quality service or reasonable prices. Although the clinic is small, and the wait may be long due to so many people who trust this location, I can assure it is worth the wait and will enjoy being a regular with them. I hope this location grows in the future and possibly can expand their space. :)

I showed up for an 11:45 rabies shot and I didnt obtain the shot for over an hour. They also charged me an extra $15 because it wasnt their "vaccination Wednesday". When I called to make the appointment they didnt tell me it would cost more or even tell me a price. When I was told it would be $15, she never said extra... Made it seem like only $5 more. On top of it all the place is super out dated and uncomfortable.
