Dr Bretow is a miracle worker. I had been injured in an auto accident in Arizona just before going to California for vacation. I was in tremendous pain and no Chiropractor would see an out of state injury patient. Dr Bretow, made room for me in his schedule that day. Marcy, his secretary, was instrumental in getting Dr Bretow to understand my immediate need for treatment. They make a very compassionate team. Any time I am in the Bay area I make sure to schedule and appointment. I went in to his office unable to stand straight and in tremendous pain. In one treatment Dr Bretow was able to get me standing straight and virtually pain free. His single treatment combined with his advice remedied the pain from the accident as well as pain I had been living with for years. His treatment was very thorough, gentle, and incredibly precise in application. I have seen many chiropractors since this and another auto accident. A few have been amazing. None have been as incredible or provided such immediate and long lasting relief from pain as Dr Bretow!

Dr. Steve puts so much energy into his work and has many different approaches to pain relief. After a treatment it feels that a positive energy transfer has occurred from Dr. Steve to myself. Ive had an unexpected benefit after a few treatments: Significant improvement in my breathing. Previous to my visits, I could not sleep on my side without my nose on that side completely plugging up and not being able to breath in the other nostril. This would occur even with CPAP although to a lesser extent. I couldnt sleep on my back either without some breathing interference even with CPAP. When Dr. Steve started adjusting my neck, it felt like my airway opened up and stayed open even during the night. I could feel air in the back of my throat. And my breathing seemed more automatic. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. This has been a side effect of my visits to Dr. Steve, which were for back and neck strain from horseback riding and computer work.

I first went to see Dr. Steve Bretow shortly after I was involved in a car accident 2 years ago. It was late in the evening yet he was wiling to stay at the office until we got there. Steve was able to reduce my pain level from 8 to 1 after just one visit. That was almost 2 years ago and we (me and my children) continue to receive care at Westside Family Chiro. Not only is Dr. Steve a very friendly and skilled Chiropractor, he is knowledgeable about holistic approaches to well-being. His receptionist, Marcie, is fantastic--my kids absolutely love her. Kimba, who offers massage at the office is amazing as well. Here you will find a great group of people offering high quality health care. I highly recommend this office for your individual and family chiropractic needs.

I am pretty particular about the type of bodyworkers I use. Some bodyworkers (massge and chiropractic) have a touch that is too light for me, and does not alleviate the problem. My particular problem is an occasional lower back pain which, when it happens, can be very persistent. I have only found a couple practitioners who can make the pain go away shortly after one visit. Dr. Steve Bretow is one of those. After one visit, my pain went away. As I understand, some people prefer a lighter touch, and Dr. Steve is flexible enough to accommodate those patients as well. But the point is, he was able to listen to my needs and accommodate me.

Dr. Steve Bretow is a knowledgeable and dedicated professional. He has a clear understanding not only of the musculatory system. but its interaction with all functioning of the human body. He is not only good at what he does, but he greatly cares about his patients, taking the time to educate them about the chiropractic method and its importance in all aspects of health. Dr Steve is an excellent healer who brings compassion and understanding to his work. He is very intuitive when finding and relieving what is causing pain or stress in your body. Dr Steve has a gentle touch and a relaxed way of doing adjustments that quickly move your body into alignment. He also keeps up-to-date with the latest technology and tools to assist him in his healing. Dr Steve has a wonderful sense of humor and his staff is great - so helpful and friendly. I went to Dr. Steve for a few months until I moved back to Colorado. I was impressed with the kind and welcoming environment his front of house staff cultivate, as well as the work Steve did for my stiff joints and lower back. He was consistently able to quickly identify areas of tension in my body and was able to offer almost-immediate relief. I have been going to see Dr. Steve Bretow at Westside Family Chiropractic for over a year now and I am really happy with the results so far. My back has improved tremendously since I first started. I used to get frequent back spasms, but now the spasms have all but been eliminated. Steve is also a tremendous guy and is fun to talk to, so that keeps me coming back to his practice. Dr. Steve has helped my back greatly over the past few years. I have a knee injury, and, as a new mom, carrying around a baby caused me to limp and throw my back out of alignment.
