If I could leave 0 stars, I absolutely would. Do not bring your pet here unless you are hoping to give them a long and painful death. On December 23rd I brought my 10 year old kitty in for a very routine anal gland expression and check up. She was a bit overweight and had anal gland issues since she was a kitten, but nothing hindering her quality of life. The nurse checked her butt and it appeared she had an infection and that antibiotics were needed - something I was totally fine with. But then the vet and nurse took Izzy, my kitty, to the back room to express her anal glands. The vet, Helena, came back a few minutes later very jumpy asking if i had ever noticed Izzy displaying something they called "swimmers legs" - a gentle term for total inability to use her back legs. We said no. The vet then carries in my kitty who is now hyperventilating, drooling, screaming and unable to use her back legs. I was in a state of shock. We asked the vet what happened and she said Izzy had jumped off the table while getting her anal glands expressed. The vet said this might have caused a blood clot resulting in her current state. She was wrong. My brother and I watched as our screaming cat was dumped into a box as we were told to go to the ER in Antioch. However, before we were pushed out the door we were forced to pay $100 for the damage they caused to our cat. When we arrived at the ER, the entire staff was in a state of shock because of our cat. No one could ever get close to her because of how much pain she was in. 5 hours after her initial appointment with the vet at Fairview Animal Hospital we were forced to put our kitty down due to her pelvis being shattered in 4 different areas. Needless to say it wasnt the fictional blood clots that killed her. On December 26th my mother called Fairview Animal Hospital to see what exactly had happened to our kitty in the back room. We demanded that the hospital take responsibility for what had happened to Izzy and simply appologize and show some amount of sympathy. Instead we were greeted by the owner who tried to claim we were negligent pet owners (we arent), that the cats pelvis was already broken (it wasnt), that the cat had rabbies (she didnt), and that is was dermatitis - also known at dandruff - that killed our kitty (it wasnt). She also couldnt make up her mind if the cat had attacked her vet or not - obviously showing it was a fictional story. The phone call with the owner of the hospital ended with her telling us that the death of our cat is problem and we caused it. She refuses to take responsibility for what her staff did and furthermore she refuses to show any sympathy in this terrible time for my family. We would advise everyone to beware this vet for the very sake of your pets lives. They deserve so much better than what this hospital offers. TL;DR: This pet hospital does not know how to care for animals. They do not truly care about the lives of the animals they are treating. They shattered the bones of a healthy cat resulting in her being forced to be put down. Instead of taking any responsibility for the pain they caused my family and cat - They deflect everything with illogical responses.
