I wanted to rate them actually with no stars! I have an adorable french bulldog that I look at and treat just as if he was my son! I had to find another vet for my dog due tonthe fact moved from san jose to sac! I live in midtown and one morning i opened my dogs kennel and usually my little man cant run out quick enough well this morning it was different he didnt run out or even stand up! I grabbed him and set him on the ground to see that his left back leg was completely unusable! He basically could not walk I freaked out n remembered midtown vet! I rushed him there at first they were awesome! The price they quoted me was great! I leave to go get money from my bank and I realized that my bank since I wasa new customer kept a 7 day hold Only checks so I freak out I get to the vet and once they new there was an issue with payment they all changed! It was pretty scary how drastically they changed! I let them know I can pay the total except $100 bucks for it and I told them the cash will be available in 2 business days so I left my credit card info and in 2 days the$100 would be payed! They were So rude and annoyed, they kept telling me to call everyone I know and ask to borrow the $100, the receptionist called me irresponsible! It was horrible! So the lady pulls me into a room locks the door looks at me and says the vet will not talk to you on what the xrays show or answer any of ur questions until the $100 is payed! They only gave the medicine and would not tell me any info in why he needs these meds etc! Mind you I am already stressed out about my dog needing to be here then I cant pay the whole balance and now they are sending me home with no answers at all! The vet was suppose to call me with what the xrays shown and what the vet feltwas going on I didnt hear from the vet until 4 days later and numerous phone calls! So dont ever go there!!

If you love your pet you must believe he deserves better than this place. Ive never written a review here before but felt inclined after my experience at this place. When we walked in the door we were ignored right up until I demanded that someone clean the blood off of our 9 week old puppies crate that another dog had smeared across it. They unapologetically complied but missed some of it so my girlfriend had to go out to her car to get a cleaning product to clean the rest. The tech did not clean the table when we entered the examination room. The vet seemed knowledgable and friendly but he did not cut my puppies nails and they did not have the medication he needed. The girl at the front desk called to order it but could not get through. Said she would order first thing in the morning then call me with the cost and shipment info. 12 the next day I had not heard from her so I called her. She said that she was just about to order and would call me when done. 15 minutes later she called me back. The company needs to verify my credit card info and would call me shortly. Never received a call. Called her back, she called the company. It was friday afternoon by this point. She called me back and told me that they are not open on saturday and I would receive a call on monday. So my puppy has not gotten his med and I wish I had gone to a different vet - not a downtown assembly line like this place. I recommend finding a vet clinic that isnt quantity based like this place appears to be - a place that will spend time with you and your pet. I am not going back to this place and just hope that this review might discourage at least one person from going there. Your pet deserves better...

Best animal hospital in the city. Staff is professional, courteous, and efficient. Yes, appointments sometimes have to be scheduled several days out, because theyre usually booked. Thats because theyre such a good hospital. My cat and I generally see Dr. True, who is fantastic. She can be reserved at first -- she doesnt suffer fools gladly, and gods know she must have a lot of idiots and spoiled rich types coming in and giving her grief. But shes a hell of a good veterinarian, and once she gets to know you and your pet, shes awesome. Every time I bring my cat in, she remembers her, greets her, pets and skritches her, like shes an old friend. Shes sensible, sensitive to my cats history and needs (my cats an ex-feral,) and doesnt tack on unnecessary tests, &c. just to pad the bill. That said, payment is due at the time of service. Dont expect to waltz in, get your pet seen to, and then blithely inform them youll pay them sometime next week. Or next month. Theyre a business, and a dammed good one. They expect, quite reasonably, to get paid for their services. Once they know you well, and you have a history of paying on time, and in full, they may work with you on cost and payments, if necessary. But if you want to freeload or expect them to trust that youll pay them some day...eventually, go somewhere else. But theres no comparison. Midtowns definitely the best vet in Sacramento. Now that Im moving out of state, theyre one of the things Ill miss most about the city.

We too want to write a review based on our experience, which was very different from what some others have reported. We got a same day appointment to see our sick cat, discussed testing and treatment options with Dr. Dinger, and opted to treat the symptoms. Our cat responded and the illness was gone. We have found the staff very accommodating. On one occasion we needed to pick up medication before a long weekend but were stuck in terrible traffic. The staff person stayed beyond closing time to give us the medication--certainly not a service that we or others should expect, but which we greatly appreciated.

I have three cats and have taken all of them to Midtown Animal Hospital now for more than 4 years. Dr. Dinger, Dr. Rose and all of the vet tech staff have been wonderful. Dr. Dinger in particular is very kind and has a great way with animals. It can be hard to get an appointment on Saturdays, but I have been able to get an appointment within a day or two when needed. They are fairly affordable, although any veterinary service is expensive. I have recommended them to friends and they have also been very happy with the way they treated their pets.

I was referred to this vet by a friend. I made an appointment to bring my dog in to be seen. I was told to show up 10 mins before schedule to fill out paperwork. When I got there I was told to be seated to wait to be called. The clerks called others that arrived after I did to the desk then they noticed I was still waiting so asked who I was and how long I was sitting. I waited for over 20mins to be asked to come to the desk then was told my dog could not be seen because my appointment time passed. Wasted my day and my dog wasnt seen
