Del Mar Optometric has the most inept and rude office staff. Their assistant doesnt know how to put a call on hold so you can hear the office staff talk about you when she sets the phone down, specifically the office manager Genie. Shes condescending and rude. She sets the tone and example for her clueless office staff. The doctors are both incompotent. I have the same prescription in both eyes, and yet I had lenses made 3 times and each time they were incorrect. The office staff told me something completely different than both doctors, so I still have no idea why this was such a headache. I was gracious the first few times, but lost my patience. Im tired of spending money and time going to their office and getting the run around. One time when I came in, the girl at the counter was eating yogurt and told me she was busy. She finished her snack and perusing her phone and then said ok I can help you now. They really are the worst office staff. Ive also been hung up on twice. I decided to get glasses elsewhere. They wouldnt fax my prescription because the doctor wanted to redo my exam (at my expense). My contacts are fine, so I know the prescription is ok, they just aim to squeeze as much money as possible out of their customers. When I called back and was short with one of the office staff, she babbled incoherently, rudely told me she knew how to send a fax but wouldnt explain why they wouldnt fax my prescription to my new eye place. This is the point where she sat the phone down and she and Genie discussed me, thinking I couldnt hear. Completely unprofessional. Genie lied and tried to blame the new office I was seeing. Caught in her lie, because the office I went to quoted her and told me at exactly what time she called, she rudely called me honey and curtly said she sent my prescription when in fact she hadnt. She sent my prescription scrawled on a white paper instead of on a prescription pad with the doctors signature. Either she was being spiteful or really doesnt know what shes doing. I called back three times and they wouldnt pick up. Well see if they can send a fax. Another note, to squeeze as much money as possible from me, the office staff says I wont receive a refund for my lenses which they screwed up 3 or 4 times (Ive lost count) and every time I picked up the newest mistake, they rudely commented on how long it had taken me to pick them up. Im a very busy person and I dont think they need to be snark because my glasses were in a drawer in their office. Doctors Graham and Fasciani are nice, but Im not just looking for nice in an eye doctor. They need to get control of their office staff and not try to rip their customers off. I know most of their clientele must be wealthy, but I really dont have the time, money, or patience to be treated the way I have been at Del Mar Optometric.

I had a great experience with Dr. Fasciani! I made an appointment online through DocZoc, and unfortunately they called me back and said the time I asked for was just booked. They were able to accommodate the inconvenience and fit me and my husband in for eye exams the same day! Dr. Fasciani is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and really helped me understand my insurance and figure out the most cost-effective way to use my benefits. What a great experience!
