About two years ago, my wife and I were preparing for a vacation to Mexico when suddenly our dog went into heat for the first time, 5 days before our trip. As you may know, no doggy daycare will take a dog in heat, so our only options were to cancel our 2-week vacation or get her spayed quickly and leave her in the care of our good friends during her recovery. El Cerrito Pet Hospital was the only place in the bay area that was able to fit her in with such short notice. Not only that, but they did a great job, were very friendly, and were as much as 80% cheaper than some of the other places we called. So happy to have found them. We still go here now and they always take great care of our pup.

My dog had a cherry eye last week and I send him to this pet hospital to check. They want me to do the eye surgery. They said is a little surgery but when I get the call later that day, they said my dog died there and they dont know why! My dogs eye and noise were bleeding when he died! They must do something wrong to my dog! They dont admit but evade. I am so angry with them! That is so not professional and responsible！dont go to that hospital!

Worst experience ever. Brought my dog in thinking he had a lodge bone in his teeth. The doc gave me a $1000 quote and told me it would take a few hours. 6 hours later I showed up and he has been done for 4 hours. The lady tells me that there wasnt a bone and it was just an inflame jaw but since it was under budget so the proceed to draw blood and do these other things.

Excellent doctor. Very knowledgeable and took the time to explain. Our dog became very sick. I found this hospital through a friend of mine. The doctor did not give undue hope nor scare me into a spending spree. Just gave his straight forward opinion. Dedicated and very competent. We drive 40 miles to visit him and will continue to do so in the future.

This place is horrible I TOOK MY 12 WEEK KITTEN BECAUSE OF VOMITING THE DR GAVE HIM ALOT OF MEDICATIONS AND SHOTS WHEN I TOLD HIM HE ALREADY HAD SHOTS TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE ROOM AND DID EVERYTHING WITH OUT CHEKING FIRST OF COURSE HE CHARGED ALOT OF MONEY WHAT IS WORST 1 HR LATER AFTER LEAVING HIS OFFICE MY KITTEN DIED

The staff and the doctor are amazing!!!so competition for your love ones(pets) very honest and so reasonably priced. I will never take my animals anywhere else!!!!Please anybody who has a sick or hurt pet please take them here!!!! They are the best!!!!!

my friends took their dog there and were grossly overcharged. they were given an estimate and a bill for the services on the same invoice. never were they given an opportunity to review and ok the estimate. i would go to a different vet hospital.

I have been going here for years and have found the care and prices to be very good. I love my dogs and would not take them any place that was not great. I can also just pay vet tech for shots or nail clippings if that is what I need. Great place!

Alison Romero at El Cerrito Pet Hospital is great. Administering oral medication to sick cat isnt always easy but she has a great touch with cats and was always helpful with her care.

all they really do there is just take your money and eventually your pet will get sick again. "one thing they do know how to do good" is charge $$$$
