Staff was friendly, but that is really the only good thing I have to say. I waited to post this review because I had to return today for a booster shot, but on August 1, 2017, knowing that I am on a college student budget, Dr. Gilbert convinced me that my dog needed extra supplements (which are not FDA approved) for her hips and knees without disclosing the cost. They ended up being ridiculously expensive. I sent an email to air my concern Upon researching the products at home, I realized not only that one is not even made for hips and joints (but for skin and fur), but additionally, the vet had charged a 70% markup from the retail cost of the products. In a phone conversation, the vet simply said she had no control over the price and that I was free to purchase the supplements elsewhere in the future. At this point, while taking these supplements (which cost me well over $100), my dog has shown no significant improvement. On the same visit, the vet tried to push the need for my dog to have dental work done (my dog has stubs for teeth, and has for the past couple of years) insisting that a root canal may be the best option for her well being...out of pocket, that would cost well over $2000 (did I mention I am clearly a broke college student?) At the end of my first appointment, I scheduled my follow up for the booster. First, I was given the wrong timeframe for when the shot should be given, and had to reschedule my appointment accordingly. The day before my scheduled appointment, I recieved a call to confirm my appointment, but they had me put down for 2 hours earlier than the time I scheduled weeks in advance. Due to conflict, I had to move to a later time. When I came in for an appointment that should have taken all of 15 minutes, I sat in the waiting room for about a half our until everyone else had left and they finally realized that after check-in, no one came to take my dog back for her pre-scheduled booster shot... I can say with certainty that I will not be returning. They are very disorganized, and I can no longer trust that their suggestions are for my dogs well being, but rather for their own profit. I live within walking distance, but I would rather travel on public transportation with my dog to a different vet than deal with their shenanigans again.

Great service but had terrible experience. I had my dog vaccinated here for multiple things, including rabies. I got a call 2 months after the vaccinations telling me they injected him with an expired rabies vaccine and just so happen to catch it (I was not the only patient affected). I had to get him revaccinated the next day. Only gave us a refund on the original rabies vaccine (and not even the cost of the checkup) when I specifically asked them for it due to the ridiculousness of this situation. The 3 things that made me very upset about this: 1. My dog went for 2 months without rabies protection. He could have caught rabies during that time which meant he would have had to be put down + my family could have been bitten/given rabies. This is especially problematic because we travel often to Latin America where rabies can be a real issue. 2. No one likes having random stuff injected in their dogs. 3. I had to take extra time out of my weekend to bring him in. The kicker is after mentioning the 3 above reasons why this was terrible to the person at All Pets, their response was, and I quote, "all hospital make mistakes and were owning up to ours". Yes, all hospitals do make mistakes, thats why there are medical malpractice lawsuits.

Weve been taking our rabbit here for checkups, illnesses, and grooming needs since 2007, so weve seen all three rabbit vets and received wonderful care from each doctor. Be warned that diagnostic and bloodwork tests are expensive, but, pets are a luxury. The doctors always returned our phone calls to answer our questions thoroughly - sometimes spending as long as 10 minutes, which is really helpful because making rabbits travel to the vet is extremely stressful for them. Our rabbit lived for a good 10 long years and unfortunately passed away at the vet office (unrecoverable stroke). The doctor was completely upfront and honest on the diagnosis. The entire office was helpful and sympathetic - they felt the loss, too. The staff was professional in letting us know the options and giving us as much time and privacy to say goodbye.

I have gone to All Pets several times for both my cat and dog. I would agree with other reviewers who have said that they "nickel and dime" you here. Most recently, I took my dog in to get his vaccinations updated and was told he should have his teeth cleaned as well. The cost quoted was over $400. I was also told that my dog would likely have chronic ear problems when I first brought him for an infection 5 years ago which is the only such time he has had to have been seen for that ailment. It seemed both that the Dr. was wrong about his prediction and needlessly created concern about the future health of my dog. Regardless of having a scheduled appointment, the wait time has never been under a half hour. The bottom line is they seem to care more about their bottom line. Would not recommend

We moved from the peninsula after going to Adobe Veterinary Clinic in Los Altos for almost 30 years and several beloved pets. When we first got to SF we still took our beloved Chihuahua down to Adobe because we didnt think we could find the level of care we received at Adobe. Finally, after stellar recommendations from family and friends, we decided to try All Pets. We couldnt be happier! Not only is the medical care top notch in every way but the doctors and staff are responsive, caring and just honestly nice people. We couldnt be happier and feel the pricing is more than fair. (less than we used to pay at Adobe for similar tests, etc.)

I had a fabulous experience here this morning. The front staff was super nice and chatty and was very efficient checking us in. My bearded dragon Didymus and I were quickly shown a room and visited by a doctor. They had a heating pad for him which was a nice touch. My beardie was given a gentle and thorough exam and was ultimately prescribed some superfood to bring up his appetite. The initial exam price was given over the phone and all subsequent charges were discussed and agreed upon beforehand. Very professional. I couldnt recommend them more highly.

Dr. Herman is the kindest and most capable veterinarian it has been our pleasure to meet. We started going to All Pets for care of a hamster and other small animals, but soon brought our other pets there too. We recently had to make the difficult decision to put our dog to sleep and the way the office staff and Dr. Herman handled the entire procedure from start to finish, so much kindness and respect, made it better. I couldnt imagine going anywhere else. If you want top notch care for your pet, take them to All Pets Hospital.

I didnt know about being able to write a review or I would have written sooner, but about a year ago my parrotlet suddenly fell off his perch and was breathing shallow so I call this vet because they are only a few blocks from me. I asked if they treated birds and they said yes, but they were all booked up so I should go somewhere else. Even after I explained it was an emergency and that it would take too long to go an hour away to the bird hospital, they said "No, too busy" My bird died. I hate these people
