I really like Dr Lavassani. I enjoy her as a person, have had a couple dental procedures performed and been very happy with the quality of her work. Ive even recommended her to others. However, her receptionist/front desk lady is atrocious. I will not be returning to this office due to the mistreatment and incompetence of this lady. Months ago I had work done, she went over the procedure cost and what I would pay out of pocket after the insurance portion, before the procedure was performed. I had the procedure done, paid my portion and went on my way. I just called with tooth pain needing an appointment and was treated as if I was a complete nuisance. The receptionist seemed so put out and told me that they were too busy... made a bunch of noises "ack, oh...geez" gave me tons of attitude and then went on to say that I have a balance due of over $200. what?! I asked her how this is possible when we had discussed it at length...even called the insurance company together, at my request and in her office, she said I should have a copy of the statement and refused to tell me what the $200 is for. Then when I explained we have a change in insurance, she was unwilling to look up our eligibility over the phone with the ID number. I asked how am I supposed to get my tooth problem fixed if we cant verify insurance, and you cant tell me what this balance is for? She said "I dont know, you cant". Finally, after me explaining that I really need to get this tooth fixed (and that it is illegal to refuse medical service over this) she, totally exacerbated, and annoyed says " I can maybe fit you in today at 1" I explained that I have 4 kids and am not looking for an appointment for today...she interrupted me with a scoff and barked "seriously?!" ....my thoughts exactly. Here I am , a customer/patient, in pain and needing medical service, Ive spent well over a thousand dollars there in previous services (thats just my out of pocket portion) and Ive had to spend 10 minutes fighting for an appointment, treated like crap, and told that I owe $200 for some mystery reason. NOT WORTH IT, clearly their patients health and well being is not priority. (which is the entire reason their office exists in the first place...their patients) I will be taking my business elsewhere

I have been a patient of Dr. Lavassani in the past and she is a very good dentist. Unfortunately the receptionist is less then helpful. Last year I had a root canal done in one of my front teeth, unfortunately the dental insurance didnt cover getting a crown so all I had was a temporary filling until i could afford to pay out of pocket for the crown. Some months after when I was brushing my teeth, the filling fell out. I immediately called to inform that the filling fell out and it needed to be replaced. The receptionist called me back about it the next day and said that I couldnt get the filling because my dental insurance only covered fillings every 37 months and they couldnt put in another filling since that front tooth was dead. And then proceeded to chide me about why I needed get the crown in the first place. I was able to change my insurance from DentaCal to Delta Care, which did cover the crown up to a point. Unfortunately when I called in to make an appointment to get a crown put in, I was informed by the receptionist that I couldnt make an appointment because they were booked through December. There was no offers to put me on a waiting list for any potential cancellations nor any requests to take down my name and phone number so that I can be informed of any openings in January. As of the beginning of this year, I have begun working in a Dining Hall at a retirement community in San Francisco. At this point I am planning on sticking out until May when I am able to get medical benefits so I can move my dental services elsewhere.

After having had a dreadful experience with the dentist my carrier had assigned me to, Art Dental, I did my due diligence and found Dr. Lavassani and her team through both personal and on-line input. Dr. Lavassani and her staff are everything the other so-called provider was not. Their word is their bond, the pricing structure is very fair, and Dr. Lavassani and her staff are hard working and very accommodating. They provided a crown in even less time than expected, with no complications. Im a client for life. I recommend Dr. Lavassani without hesitation. I observed the interactions between other clients and Sr. Lavassani and staff, and the mutual respect and caring between them is plain for all to see. Would that all service providers were as professional and caring as Dr. Lavassani and her staff.

Dr. Lavassani has been my primary dentist for years now. Shes a great dentist as well as an amazing soul. Her team is also very kind, and helpful. Sorayya khanum/front desk has always tried to find a time for me when my case was time-sensitive, even when I didnt have an appointment and Dr. Lavassani was fully booked. Lulu is also an exceptionally talented and experienced assistant. Ive introduced a few friends, and all of them were satisfied with the services.
