We love Fairfax Veterinary Clinic. As we moved from San Francisco to Fairfax, our precious little cat Zeke developed crystals in his urine, which his SF vet missed and one of the Fairfax Vet Clinic docs diagnosed in minutes (right after he peed on the exam room floor, actually). Zeke became a frequent patient and all the doctors were excellent in dealing with his health particularities (for one example, he refused to drink) and his mercurial temper. The clinic is outstanding in dealing with emergencies--we had to get Zeke in a few times, and we witnessed several other patients arriving under emergency circumstances, and they respond well to the emergency, dont charge the equivalent of a second mortgage for the emergency visit, and can tailor medical advice to the patient. Dr. Katie was a godsend when Zeke was dying: she supported us in making decisions based on his illness and his REAL prognosis, the one based on him and his response to treatment and not just what might be medically possible. When it was time to let him go, she came to the house so he wouldnt have to go into the clinic (we may love visiting the good people there, but Zeke would literally rather have died). Were still grateful for the support through that time. Still missing our vet nine months later wasnt WHY we rescued a young cat with a biting problem, but it didnt hurt that we knew we had great care a half mile away.

I love Fairfax Veterinary Clinic!! The Veterinarians and the Staff have created an atmosphere that is as friendly and welcoming as the one that some of us remember from doctors office visits decades ago, only with all the expertise and up-to-date treatment strategies that are available in todays world. All the doctors are wonderful, and Dr. Aaron Wentzell is my cats Veterinarian. He also cared for my former cat, managing her hyperthyroidism and kidney disease in such a way that she lived in excellent health until the last weekend of her life. She was just shy of 19 years old when she died, and when that moment came, his compassion made all the difference in the world. Fairfax Veterinary Clinic is simply the best!!

Fairfax Vet docs Goetting, Wentzell, and Kristensen have been caring for my cat for nearly 2 decades, and my cat is in exceptionally good hands here. Shes still playful and healthy, and I love the docs at Fairfax Vet. More recently Dr Morey has been keeping up on my cats old-age issues and guiding me skillfully through these years in keeping her in the best health, and every doc and medic and aide in the place knows my cat and is very caring with her. Fairfax Veterinary Clinic has been the primary care for my cat since she was a young adult cat, and she has gotten the best care I could have asked for (and this is coming from a UCDavis grad). I completely trust the docs at Fairfax Vet.

Our dog Nancy was seen at Fairfax veterinary clinic her whole life of almost 16 years. The vets there always treated us all as though we were family and were so generous and caring about Nancys health. Even when we had to put our beloved friend down; the care was so touching and if we ever get another canine friend, Fairfax veterinary clinic will be the folks that will take care of that part of our family. We attribute Nancy reading the ripe old age of 15+ years to the care she was given at the clinic. I would recommend Fairfax Veterinary clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet friends, because so will the folks at the clinic. Ollie Lagomarsino

Aaron and Mary Beth have been looking after our cats now for the last several years and there is no superlative I could bring to this review they would not be worthy of. During a very trying time when Isis was very ill and at an emergency hospital in San Rafael (she became ill late on a Sunday evening and it was the on ly option) Mary Beth stayed in contact with the Vets at the hospital and called us every day (before they did) to give us updates and keep us informed. She and Aaron have given us and our cats the kind of caring and personal attention you can only hope for in this world and I would recommend them without reservation to anyone with a pet.

Mary Beth is incredibly talented, compassionate and resourceful. My sweet Shabby had rapid onset of blindness and she immediately got me to a specialist and then provided after care which resulted in her being able to see again with surgery. Shabby had other health issues as she got older and Mary Beth helped us navigate through our options without having us do expensive testing for everything. She and the staff were incredibly sensitive and caring. When we lost our dear Shabby, they sent a very heartfelt sympathy card with personalized messages of how our dog was special to them which makes Fairfax Vet special to us.

Fairfax Veterinary Clinic provided excellent care for my border collie mix, Griffin, for 12 years. They helped me keep him healthy between several difficult incidents (Dog vs. Car, Dog vs. Stick, and finally, Dog vs. Cancer). Griffin benefited from the kindness of the entire staff, and from the diagnostic and surgical skills of his doctors. When Griffins quality of life had deteriorated to a point when he could no longer be comfortable, the staff and doctors of the FVC were incredibly sensitive and helped me provide a peaceful farewell for my sweet dog. I will be forever grateful.

I brought my cat and before testing him the vet warn me of possible cancer and other diseases. I pointed his nose because he had something black attached that I thought could be a bug but she didnt look at it properly and discarded it with a simply "thats a scar" that was wrong, for later on that day I scratched and it was a bug. Finally he had no proof of any disease after taking his samples, so now he is happily back. The stress that cause me that warning, plus de $400 and more that cost us the different tests makes me feel a strong NO in this specific vet. Sorry

To anyone who is considering a visit to Fairfax Vet Clinic, I HIGHLY recommend this place for many many reasons!!! First off, the quality of care is top-notch and it is their passion and desire to be of service to you and your critter. They make you feel part of the family with warmth and love. The office is always clean. Never did I have to wait to scheduled nor wait in the office for long before seeing the Dr. If I move out of this area, you can bet I will absolutely return my critters here for love, care and top quality service. I have been taking my three little dachshunds to Dr. Katie Kristensen for several years now and have found her to be an excellent veterinarian with whom to work. My dogs have some ongoing medical and dental issues which sometimes necessitate urgent attention, and Dr. Kristensen has always been willing to accommodate them, even when her schedule is quite full. She is caring and knowledgeable, and does her best to keep costs affordable for me. I highly recommend her. The staff could not be more friendly, and my dogs love them all.

Small Animals!! We were very happy to find that Fairfax Vet cares for rabbits and they are very close to our home. I brought our rabbit to them because he stopped eating. Dr. Aaron Wentzell was very kind and took the time to explain everything form the difficulties of diagnosing small animals to the treatment and the cost and made sure I understood and was comfortable with everything along the way. Our little bunny had a full recovery and we will definitely continue to take him there for care.
