Dr. Raj and his team saved our Dexter!! Our 4yo lab retriever was showing symptoms of bloat (scary!) so I made a frantic call to Central Vet Hospital at 7pm on a Friday night (near closing) and they told me to bring him in right away, no hesitations or other questions asked. After meeting with Dr. Raj, he ruled out bloat from a physical exam but he wanted to do some x-rays to be certain there wasnt something else going on... and they ended up finding a large splenic tumor that was estimated to be 6lbs (!!!). As any other dog parent can imagine, seeing the x-ray image with a massive tumor taking over his entire abdomen was heart shattering but I cant express how thankful I am for the vet techs who gave me Kleenex and positive vibes. The radiology report was sent for a second opinion which came back with the same diagnosis... Splenic tumor that ultimately required emergency surgery. Dr. Raj professionally and realistically explained the situation and our options and put everything on the table transparently. Though the procedure to remove the tumor was risky, we only saw one option and we werent giving up on our boy! Surgery it was - which was a total splenectomy. I also want to point out that the surgery was clearly not scheduled, but Dr. Raj and his team stayed past midnight on a Friday night to complete the procedure. This speaks volumes!! I got a call around midnight that night with an update that the surgery was complete, Dexter was awake but he had lost a lot of blood during the procedure. Dr. Raj invited me to the vet hospital so I could visit with Dexter and I cant tell you how much I appreciated that chance, as I wasnt sure if it would be the last time. When I got to the hospital I saw just how much they genuinely cared for him - he had tons of blankets around him, a couple heated water bags etc and he was comfortable. This reassured me that he was in the best possible hands. The next morning I got the great news that he pulled through the night and we could come visit him again later that day and take him home that night! Dr. Raj went over the details of the surgery and explained the reality of what we were dealing with. Dexters spleen had already ruptured so if they hadnt performed the splenectomy that night, he would not have made it. I cant emphasize enough how grateful we are for his expertise and quick decision making that ultimately saved our boy! The next step was sending the tumor for biopsy to see if it was cancerous. We were given information on both types of splenic tumors (cancerous and noncancerous) so we had an idea what to prepare ourselves for. Dr. Raj was optimistic but realistic, which I appreciate more than words can say. Flash forward two weeks, Dexter is cancer free and recovering like a champ! His incision is healing beautifully with no issues or complications. All in all, the entire team at Urban Central Valley Vet has been incredible (shout out to Kim - Dexter absolutely loved her!) and I would recommend Urban Vet Hospital to anyone and everyone. They treated Dex as if he was their own which is soo comforting. Being new to central valley I cant express how thankful I am that we chose Central vet Hospital during this critical time. To the entire vet team - THANK YOU!! We will definitely be bringing Dexter back in the future!

As the owner of 5 dogs 5 Labs, 1 Rat Terrier, Candy, Boochee, Tiny, Jeter and Ringo. CVVH Dr. Raj and his staff have been nothing but the best family doctor to our animals. We have been coming to see Dr. Raj for almost 10 years now. When our labs Candy and Boochee had their first litter. Dr. Raj was there to oversee they were healthy and in good physical conditions. Following them all to this day. Dr. Raj has been more like a family doctor than a Veterinary Doctor. Dr. Raj, when our Boochee and Tiny were wrestling injured the leg of our little boy Tiny. Dr. Raj, was the physician whom took great care to fix the broken leg. Even during surgery placing a medal rod to allow our little boy to walk once again, run and play with the other dogs. Three years ago, when having our babies all checked. It was found that our mother Candy was diabetic. Never having to give insulin to an animal. Dr. Rag was there to teach my wife and me what and how to do the insulin. Also, if she were to go into shock, what needed to be done? Later, we found out that Candys son Jeter had cancer. Not knowing the true extent Dr. Raj researched, running tests. Once it was confirmed he had us go to UC Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital. There, Jeter our son was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Immediately, starting the CHOP Chemotherapy treatment. Jeter has been fighting since October 2014 and now is in remission. Once again, Dr. Raj was there in October 2014 during an appoint for our Boochee and father to the litter, was diagnosed with cancer. Again, Lymphoma was the diagnosis. Not waiting Dr. Raj had us go straight to UC Davis, where there the staff. Whom was already overseeing Jeter started the Chemo on Boochee. Unfortunately, the treatments were not enough to save our Beloved Boochee and he passed away March 4, 2016. June 6, 2016 less than 2 weeks ago, we were concerned with the breathing of our other son Ringo. Dr. Raj took X-rays, blood tests and came back that he suggested we have a CAT SCAN. As the X-rays were undetermined. Though there was a large mass in left upper lobe of the lung. Going to the ER at UC Davis Vet Hospital. Ringo was being seen by the staff whom was already taking care of his brother Jeter. It was determined that the mass in Ringos lung was a large tumor. The options were surgery, provided it was not cancer. Unfortunately, tests revealed it was cancer. No medical procedures would cure or stop the cancer and we were given 2 weeks to a couple of months. Depending upon treatments. Once again, Dr. Raj was there to help comfort us, as his has been in the past. Always giving his heart and soul to the betterment of his patients and family members as his considers his clients. So if you have read this, you can see for all the animal clinics in the surrounding area of Manteca. Central Valley Veterinary Hospital is the place to go. One thing to remember, Dr. Raj and his staff started to stay open until later than most businesses do. So you and your family dont have to go to the ER and pay after hour prices. He is a great Doctor. If I could have him for my personal HUMAN DOCTOR, I would. Thank you Dr. Raj. Respectfully, GREGORY DEAN "Iceman" WHITE STAFF SERGEANT, U.S. ARMY RETIRED MANTECA, CA

There is a huge difference between being a passionate, competent veterinary doctor and being a slick salesman of health services to animal lovers. The majority of people "love their kitties and puppies" so are easy targets for the financial traps of a third rate vet. Dr. Raj x-rayed my limping collie about 6 films, prescribed an anti-inflammatory for a couple hundred bucks. But she was till sick. Months later brought her back and he X-rayed her again about half a dozen films. No diagnoses so said hed sent the films to a radiologist and Id get a report in 5 days. Never heard from him again despite calls and faxes that were dead ended in the front office. Finally tried to transfer X-rays to a real vet and he calls me pleading to led him X-ray my dog a third time. Foolishly I agreed and it was the same story - no diagnosis but the story that a radiologist would view the X-rays...never heard from him. When I wrote a truthful, negative review, he faxes me a photo of his computer screen. Apparently he uploads the X-rays to a veterinary website where real vets comment on what they think the film reveals. So there were several comments "maybe it’s this or that...I think it’s this...etc." Hello? Where is the radiologists report he kept promising?! There is none. What is the diagnosis? He doesnt have one. He X-rays my dog from November 2011 to March 2012 and shes still limping in pain! Im sorry if this review of mine is over your head. Most are just "Oh, I love my Vet" or some such. But mine is a real case of a real dog that was X-rayed three times without a definitive course of treatment. So I went to the trouble of having X-rays transferred to one of the most intellectually rigorous vets in this area. Yeah, that vet is not a short drive like Raj, but the difference was astounding! Now I have a treatment plan for her shoulder and elbow dysplasia - which is what it is. I weigh her food to slim her down 10 pounds, distilled water in her indoor dispenser to lower the calcium load of our well water, fish oil for anti-inflammatory, Dasuquin MSM for her joints/cartilage, meloxicam (NSAID) formulated for her by a pharmacy, and Adequan that I inject twice a week. Yeah - a real vet let me order prescription meds over the Internet at "best prices" then demonstrate I can properly do an injection at home. Instead of $400 in Adequan treatments it only cost me $98. THAT IS A REAL VET! The animals come first! Not posting x-rays on a website and never bothering to formulate a diagnoses/method of treatment. My collie is a pedigreed "Lassie" type who herds sheep. Shes so well behaved as a Service Dog shes been to the San Francisco Zoo! She is a wonderfully sweet, obedient girl who deserved a hack of a lot more than what "Dr. Raj" had to offer. Some people are happy with mediocrity. I will never tolerate it. You may feel differently. OK.
