Okay experience. I called a week before to get an appt. It was easily setup. I arrived at 9am for my apt (first time slot for that day). I needed to leave by 10a to see patients at work. I was told my office visit was $65 and more if other things needed to be done and I would be told so. Michelle the office manger (OM) was courtesy at the front desk. I printed the health hx forms on line and filled them out. This made everything faster as I was taken in for xrays right away. Leo, my dental assistant (DA) was pleasant. She completed my xrays within 10 mins. I thought all was going smoothly and I would see the Dr soon. However, another pt came in and Dr. Nguyen took her and sat with her for 20 mins before seeing me. They had the same conversation for 20 mins. The Dr. Nguyen did an OK job reassuring the pt but they were saying the SAME things for 20 mins, both the Dr. and the Pt. If the Dr. had sounded more confident and told the pt that her braces were likely to move throughout the process and small quick adjustments were made normally. The DA would had been able to come in and complete her exam. The exam lanes are partitioned by shelves so you can hear conversations next to your quasi-room. So I had at wait. I made sure I was the 1st appt so the Dr. could see me right away but that didnt happen. The pt that Dr. Nguyen took had worries about her braces. He took long awhile to placate her then started work on her (or the DA did). When he finally got to my exam room, he was pleasant and reviewed my xrays with me. That was nice. Before he started work on my teeth, I SPECIFICALLY asked him to review any cleanings or services that might be needed. He said he would. But he never did. Michelle told me that the routine exam was 30-45 mins and a cleaning may push the appt time to 1-1.5hrs. I wanted to know if I was going to make it to work and also how much the charges would be before continuing. Well Dr. Nguyen, checked my teeth then proceeded to work on my teeth. Afterwards, he said that the DA would polish my teeth. That was the last I saw of him. I waited another 20mins for the DA to come over to work on me. When I was done, Michelle rang me up and said the charges were $165 for the services. I WAS NEVER EXPLAINED THAT I WAS GETTING A CLEANING, OR FEES FOR THE CLEANING. I didnt even get a little sample of toothpaste or a free toothbrush. I was 30 mins late to work with patients waiting. Thank you Dr. Nguyen for being professionally courteous and telling me about the services you were providing and break down of things. If it was not your duty please inform your staff to do so in the future. The office was pretty slow that day however it still took me about 1.5hrs to complete my exam. I dont know if the office only takes appts but if youre a walk-in, please know that youll be there for quite awhile. I dont think Ill go back. Clinical skills good all around for the DA and the Dentist. Intrapersonal skills: OM - ok, DA - great, Dr - a bit above average however he chuckled at me because I looked younger than my age and for that fact I snacked a lot. Office skills lacking. My friend recommended this dentist to me. I got an appointment right away. After the consultation I was recommended that I needed over 10k of dental work done. I decided to get a second opinion and thank god I did. I only needed $1,400.00 of work done which was a shocker especially for the same recommendation as the first dentist. My advice to anyone is shop around and make sure the dental office has been in business for longer then five years and you are not paying extra for his dental student loans.

The staff was polite, the facilities clean, and Dr.Nguyen is excellent at communicating what kind of care you need, what the options are, and is very kind in helping determine what works best for you. Going to the dentist is something that no one enjoys, but my visit here was the best Ive ever had. You are treated with respect from start to finish, and your comfort and health are the number one concern here.

The entire staff at Montclair Plaza Dental Group as fantastic. The entire staff is absolutely friendly and professional. I am not being sarcastic when I say that my wife and I love going to visit the dentist only because they make the experience as painless as possible and are, in our opinion, genuinely interested in their patients. The best dentist I have ever been to ! Im terrified of going to the dentist but after my experience here I will defiantly be back the dentist made me feel so comfortable and pain free! and explained to me everything he would be doing. Would reccomend this place to anyone!

For the first time in my life (50+yrs) I had a great experience in the dental chair without having to use twilight anesthesia just to pull a tooth! My dentist and the assistant were wonderful and patient. I totally recommended going.

went in on an emergency visit.. doc saw me right away.. NO WAIT.. i explained to them my pain was beyond manageable.. they xrayed me and treated me immediately.. if you ever have a bad tooth ache this is the place to go..!!!

Dr. John Nguyen is the best. He is professional and "genuine". Very well trained staff proficient in quality of care. They all work very well together and that is reflected in the warmth of the atmosphere.
