Dr. Jeffrey Cohen has the competency to diagnose what is wrong with your pet, administer the correct treatment and save your pet’s life. I met Dr. Cohen after I had taken my two 7 year old Blue Point Siamese brothers to have their annual shots and teeth cleaned at a local vet. I had taken them to the same vet since they were kittens. But I moved, so I had all of their medical records and vaccination information faxed to a local vet. My previous vet always pointed out that one of them, Booski, when given his shots had a tendency to have psychotic episodes and always advised me to keep him separate from his brother in a dark room for awhile after I brought him home. I was trying to do just that when I noticed that Booski was clearly not feeling well. I took Booski back to the local vet, who told me that she didn’t know what was wrong with him and that there was nothing that she could do. I rushed Booski to another vet, who very kindly told me that my cat was dying. He told me that my cat was having a bad reaction to something that was given to him, but without knowing what, could not help him and was afraid to administer anything that could possibly cause more harm. He told me there was nothing he could do to help other than to continue to inject him with fluids, which hopefully would keep him alive long enough for me to get him in to see a specialist, a Dr. Jeffrey Cohen in Newport Beach. I took Booski to Dr. Jeffrey Cohen and he saved our Booski’s life. I cannot tell you how grateful we were to receive that late night call from Dr. Cohen to give us the status on Booski’s condition. Not only had Dr. Cohen figured out what the problem was, but Booski was treated, doing well and expected to return home soon. The nightmare was over. Suffice it to say that words can not express the magnitude of our gratitude. Booski lived to be 18 years old, which I understand is rather unusual for a pure-bred Siamese cat. Boy missed his brother Booski and would continue to look for him around the house. When Boy became ill, I thought it best to let Boy go. That was over a year after Booski passed. So, I believe Boy lived to be 20 years old. I attribute both of my cat’s longevity to the expert and excellent care of Dr. Jeffrey Cohen. Take your pet here! Dr.Cohen has to be the most honest, knowledgeable and overall helpful vet weve ever encountered. My husband and I have been amazed at his care for our pets and will continue to take them to see Dr. Cohen whenever our pet family needs anything at all, from check-ups to surgery as we have for these past 8 years. My husband and I are very picky, and have only great things to say about Dr. Cohen who is even knowledgeable about and supportive of any of our home-care approaches to pet care! He explains all possible concerns, treatments and follow-up needs with such empathy and understanding. His love of animals is evident from the moment you book your appointment with his very knowledgable staff (smarter than many vets weve talked to) or walk through the door of a stunningly beautiful and clean clinic.

I tried to buy a soft ecollar from this hospital. They absolutely refused to sell me one since I was not an exisiting client. I have been a registered vet tech for 13 years and have never seen a hospital refuse to sell an over the counter product to someone. Even when I explained that I worked for an emergency hospital and we were out of the size I needed for my dog , they still refused. I will never reccomend one of my clients/patients to this hospital if they need a veterinarian, nor will I consider working for a place that has so little disregard for other professionals. If I was normal client looking for this product, they lost an opprotunity to wow them with their services by turning away business!

We are Scottish and very hard to please, but from the moment we met Dr Cohen and Deb, plus all the staff we were totally at ease with the care and attention afforded us and our Flynn. Dr Cohen is our superman, we have travelled all over and he is the exception to the normall, always explaining in great detail his findings and thoughts on our Flynns treatments. We trust him explicitly he is an amazing human being and we do admire him greatly. Thank you all at Newport Veterinary Hospital, you are our heroes.
