I really like this office. The front desk staff is so friendly and the vets take the time to explain everything and to make sure your pet is healthy and happy. I have brought my 3-year old cat in for regular exams, vaccinations, and grooming since he was a kitten, but no major procedures. General comments about customer service: I had questions about vaccinations and one of the doctors happily explained everything to me in a 15 minute phone call. My own doctors office is often impatient and rushed, but my cat has it good!! These doctors provide such great customer service. Grooming services: Once they sent him home with a sticker on his carrier that had his name and hearts drawn on because they said he was such a sweetie. I was sold after that, felt that he was treated with TLC and I have never taken him anywhere else for grooming. They also did a great job with his matted fur (long haired kitty), which they charge a little extra for. Highly recommended.

I brought my cat in for tapeworms. The vet performed an exam and recommended that my cats back teeth, which were rotten, be removed, and his front teeth be cleaned. They also finally convinced me to try Advantage for his fleas. I was reluctant to use pesticides, but he has had no side effects and our house is finally flea free. They also clipped his nails and addressed his weight issue by recommending a no-carb, protein and vegetable kibble called Evo. Basically, they took total care of my cat and all of his issues. He is much happier and healthier since I have been going to them. I was formerly going to Creature Comfort Holistic Vets on MacArthur in Oakland and they did not tell me about his teeth, could not recommend any healthy food he would eat, and used Frontline for fleas, which he had a bad reaction to. There was nothing holistic about their services. Lake Vet is definitley the place to go.

Id like to give them zero stars. Went to this location for the last time about 6 years ago (perhaps the vets have changed? But I believe it was Dr. Dunn). We brought in our ailing, 13 year old cat, they said she needed surgery (~$3000), and then proceeded to berate us for not knowing that the female rescue we welcomed to our home was not, in fact, spayed, and that obviously a female cat that was not spayed would end her life in horrible pain with -whatever it was they said she had- and why didnt we know better - we were terrible owners, and we needed to get our13 year old cat this surgery, which she would likely not survive. We left in tears and went to another vet who gave us a more reasoned explanation of our options and what had happened to our kitty. Reported them to the Vet Board.

Dr. Dunn and her staff cared for my dog for 10 years, and saved her life many times. My dog had all sorts of health problems, and Dr. Dunn is an amazing diagnostician and obviously loves working and caring for animals. The hospital is immaculate, and the staff always helpful and accommodating. I have 2 other animals, and I will not trust their health to anyone but Lake Vet.
