Ive been with the Contra Costa County clinics for approximately 15 years. Most of that time the doctors that I thought were pretty crappy. But I have to admit they are making an effort to make changes that are going to be beneficial to the patient. I have both a psychiatrist and a primary doctor who are both very professional. Im not being rushed and Im being listened to and taken seriously. Ive been treated by the two doctors that I have now with the upmost respect and encouraged to participate in my treatment. Unlike a lot of doctors Ive dealt with in the past these doctors dont make me feel intimidated. Im not sure if I just happen to get lucky and get two really good doctors but Id like to think that changes are being made to make the system better. Hopefully things will continue to improve making it easier for everyone to take better care of their health.

Go to a private doctor if you can. Long wait times in the lobby. My appointment was at 930 i got there 10 minutes early. Was not seen until 1030. I did not leave the doctors office until 1138. The website that you use to send messages to doctors they do not respond within 3 days. I wrote to my doctor dec. 22nd 2015 and to date have yet to receive a response. The clinics can cancel your appointment last minute. I had a scheduled appointment for 1/6/2015 which i scheduled on 12/07/2015. They messaged me on the website and said that my appointment had been canceled the reason was "resource maintenance". Which they canceled at 1/5/2016 at 435pm. They did not reschedule. Worse hospital clinic i have been too in m y life. i am a patient that comes in on time and plan my life around there scheduled appointments... highly dissatisfied.

...the mental health system in this country is broken......there are very few resources ...the doctors are nice but the staff could use some pointers ....
