I would never go here again. My son, 7 years old, had surgery and an external fixator placed on his hip/leg. His surgeon was assured they could help and treat him and help him recovery fully. We were sent here because insurance would not pay for him to go to Loma Linda Rehabilitation or San Antonio Rehabilitation. Our therapist treated my son, in my opinion, as a geriatric patient. The first visit she never assessed his range of motion until I brought up it that it had to be done. Also, she was more concerned on getting his arm strength going and only showed those as exercises to be done at home until the next visit. I, on my own, created exercises for the first few weeks of treatment to get him moving because he needed to move his LEG not his ARMS. My kid is strong and physically active and was up to the point of surgery. Also, going against hospital discharge and doctors orders, she did not want him toe touch weight bearing at all. For the type of procedure my son had, he needed to get active and move. By her showing him he couldnt do these things and how to baby his leg, it set him back by weeks in recovery. I spent more time at home on my own figuring out how to move his leg and getting him active. For weeks, we only spent time on a heat pad and doing a few stretching in clinic. I asked if I should be also stretching the hip and she told me no. I know now that was against what should be done for this type of surgery. The lack of communication she also provided with the surgeon was unacceptable. He was not pleased she was not doing the work that needed to be done with my son. I will admit we had to cancel appointments and did show up late 2 times. The first visit it took me longer than expected to get there and one visit I had the wrong time. The other times, our therapist was LATE. They knew I had other things going on in the morning, and she would always be late to those appointments. In fact, the receptionist would call her saying we were here. One time she was 20 mins late, took a call in the therapy room (discussed patient information on phone and then told me about it after), and texted in the same visit. That stretching visit only lasted about 20 mins. They also made 3 appointments and NEVER told me they made them. One time I was leaving and they said wed see us tomorrow. I had to turn around and let them know I had no idea about the appointment only to be told well, he is to be hear 5 times a week. Heck, I knew that, but Im thinking you didnt make a set in stone days or hours for him. Another time they called my cell phone, left a message saying we could come the next day (they were telling me the day before and hadnt said anything about this appointment) but not at 11 so could we come at 12. Then called again an hour or so later saying they hadnt heard from me, so they were cancelling the 12 pm appt and putting us back at 11. There was another time the therapist didnt show up at all. 30 mins into the visit when were to see her, another therapist was assigned to us for that visit. She stepped in and did what the other one had done before. The next visit with this new one, she asked about the heating and what we thought about it. Finally after nearly 2 months there, my son got to do ACTIVE physical therapy. For his condition, he should have been much further at this point. I know this is long, but seriously dont go here. If you get assigned, fight the insurance tooth and nail. This is not a facility for PHYSICALLY ACTIVE CHILDREN. I wasted my time and money here and wish I had fought harder. I am just glad I kept doing more and more at home than we did here. If you need to get your child moving, Precision Gymnastics in Rancho offers a great adaptive gymnastics class. I believe that helped him gain confidence moving with the fixator and seeing he could do more than sit in a wheel chair.

Good people. Can be very busy. Lots of kids around for speech therapy. Tiffany at the front desk handles scheduling and works from ... 9am? to 3pm. Schedule your appointment at least a week in advance if you want certain days or times. The PT Brian? Ryan? Hes pretty cool, laid back but seems to care about his patients well-being. Shirley the PT is a little older so she can have some difficulty adapting quickly to your needs. Its best to be very clear and willing to ask questions if you dont understand something or want more clarification. But she too seems to care for her patients, as a heath care professional ought to, so shes okay.

I could see where Horizon has gotten the previous bad reviews.. I had to be very persistent to get an appt with my Kaiser referral-2 months later i was in. Its a very busy place where the front desk is not very approachable. Does not smile or greet you BUT i am giving it 5 stars for my 2 year olds speech therapist Ariana Toews. She is AWESOME-patient, driven., and very hands on. We have been coming to her for two months. My 2 year old is non verbal but non stop babble. Very clingy to me but Ariana is working to fit her needs which i whole heatedly appreciate. Hoping she sticks around for a long time!

THIS THE WORST PLACE........ we were in hold for like 5 Months waiting for them to get the referral from Kaiser permanente. Finally they called us for an evaluation that took 2 visits to that place, they their UNPROFESSIONAL workers still couldnt evaluate my son to determine how many visits he needed. Customer Service The worst these places need more professional people so they can help others. People please there other better places than this.

This place is absolutely horrible I was referred here by Kaiser for my three-year-old son. I got the approval letter two months ago and Ive been calling ever since. I keep leaving voicemails and not one has been returned. This place is totally unprofessional! We definitely will not be coming here. I have already made a formal complaint through Kaiser as they are referring their patients to this horrible facility.

I can not describe the severity of the nightmare of this place and the disadvantages. The location could be perfect for some people but the amount of clients and adult and children mix is a nightmare. Therapists quitting left and right. Schedulers also quitting. Children with disabilities without services and the owner not caring otherwise on getting care for those kids.
