My father went to the emergency room via ambulance at 2 pm on Sunday. At 2 am on Monday, my fathers blood pressure was dropping fast. The doctor and nurses oversee it stated to me that he is going to die in a few hours due to toxic shock. They constantly insisted that we sign permission to cut off his foot because the toxic is from his foot. I refused. They came in again insisting that he will die before it is noon or end of day if surgery does not happen. At about 7 am Monday, surgeon came in and stated the same thing. There was no other options. My father is going to die before noon. We told them that we have to wait until my brothers and sisters from Merced come and discuss the options first before we decide on anything. The doctors and nurses again insist that he will die before my brothers and sister arrive. The doctors and nurse use intimidation to push us to make a decision against our beliefs with constant insistence that my father will die, They told us that he will not be moved to anywhere until after the surgery or die. Finally with many arguments, they moved him from emergency room to ICU. Another doctor came again and spoke to me in a very disrespectful, threatening tone that my father will die so we need to make a decision and sign for them to cut off his foot. Doctors and nurses are suppose to be compassionate when families are face with difficult situations. However, there were none at this time toward my family in our time of needs. They use intimidation to try to make us make a decision in a disrespectful way. The doctors and nurses at this hospital seriously need to be train in being compassionate, caring, cultural awareness, and respect. If I had a choice at the time of ambulance service, I would never have my father come to Methodist Hospital. They have poor customer/patient service. They assume people of color to be less educated than them so they are using their position to intimidate. However, doctors and nurses need to respect whoever walks in the door to their hospital. Without patients, there would be no job.

I have gone here two times, the first wasnt so bad, guess I got lucky. The secound time I went in and sat down, and was asked to move from the seat I sat in as it was for emergency based people, we were in the emergency room. It was the only seat, my friend grabed me a wheel chair as im disabled, pending spinal fusion and hip replacement. They had a security guard that for some reason after the nurse or who ever it is that comes out to call people back is load enough, but the security guard come up and very loadly says the name again. After the 2nd or 3rd time it was getting hard to take as I have been in therapy for 4 years for PTSD for major abuse, so my friend walked up to the big security guard, and explained nicely, if he could not yell, that his tone was very much scaring me. He didnt even care, infact I think just out of anger he yelled out the previous name once of the person that had already gone into to room. Needless to say, I went for stiches on my wrist, but decided to leave, because they had no seating and I am disabled and the guard now wanted the wheel chair I was sitting in so he could go put it up. I cant stand so I had to leave.

Alright well I went in because I was aving uncontrollable shaking, a strange rushing feeling to my head, muscle spams, and stomach pain. I do have panic attacks and was trying to ween off of my medication so that night i told a PM tablet to help me get some sleep as oppose to my normal pill. A few hours later the chills started. I had been having stomach pain for the past 2 to 3 wks as well.. anyways, got to Methodist around 3am. wasnt seen by the one doctor working til after 5. He did not do any test on me other than a urine test. Didnt check my stomach. or anything. The nurse who they call Mikey was absolutely rude. He made sarcastic comments and it was causing me, the anxious woman, to be irritable. After giving me some medication I finally left at 7am. When I left I felt worse than I did when I got there, the only difference being was that I wasnt shaking. I will NEVER go to methodist.. Oh yea I must add there was an elderly woman in a room across from us screaming " ooooh it hurts!!! somebody heeeeelp meeee!!" and she was in the room alone!! crazy! dont go there!

This is my first time in a hospital here in Sacramento, came in to the ER very anemic and the staff immediately took care of me- I was in the lobby less than 10 minutes. I was very frightened but the RN who cared for me while I was in the ER (Angela) was just great, very sympathetic and caring. Turns out I had to be admitted for a transfusion. The nurses in the 2nd floor were very attentive- Hannah RN and Jayme RN were quite a team while they were waiting for my blood to come in. Of course I cant leave out the phlebotomist (lab) who were great as well since I arrived- my absolute favorite was Dawn, she always came in all smiles and shes awesome at what she does. Another good one is Olu, theyre both great because it is scary to have blood drawn, but when either of them do it its almost painless- my veins werent too easy to use but they had very little trouble. All too often we read or hear of how awful the care at hospitals is, so I decided to pin point the goodness in my personal visit and although no one likes to be sick this was a good experience for me. :)

My grandmother was here twice within a 3 week period of time for a total of 12 days. She had been admitted with pneumonia, which cleared successfully however during this first hospitalization she was not given several medications, and then upon discharge the doctor put her back on all of them at the same strength, within 24 hour of being home she was rushed back to the ER practically catatonic. The doctor putting her back on the full strength of those prescriptions caused a type of encephalitis. He also later admitted he discharged her too early. Now her initial condition of pneumonia was resolved, but due to the doctors incompetence she had a range of new issues, which the nurses and case managers just wrote off to her "dementia". She was given food she couldnt chew, half the lights in her room didnt work, the bathroom had no soap, and the case managers miswrote her discharge orders twice. This hospital is old, grungy and dated, it needs to be remodeled and staffed by competent medical professionals. Do not go here, ever.

I had a fantastic experience at this hospital, top notch care. I had bariatric surgery 4/18/17 with Dr. Ruby Gastchet. I stayed on the second floor which is the bariatric and orthopedic unit. My day time nurses were Valarie and a student nurse Nicole, they made sure my pain stayed controlled and were so very encouraging and caring. Their attitudes were positive and upbeat and they made me feel like it was truly a pleasure to be helping me. Im telling you when you have the kind of pain I was having when I got out of surgery you need that sort of optimism and positivity. My night time nurse was Mary Jane and she had such a sweet demeanor and took my vital signs with care not to fully disrupt my sleep. Before my discharge Rondi the bariatric coordinator went through every detail of what I should be doing at home and answered every question. I really felt that my success was important to my medical team..I would recommend this hospital 100 times over. Thank you!!
