I am still waiting for my bifocals. Initially I ordered a pair of progressive lens glasses and was told they would be ready in two - three weeks. About two weeks later I was called and told that the glasses were in. I went in for the fitting and was told that if I had trouble adjusting to them I could bring them back and exchange them. About a week later I did so, requesting regular lined bifocals. Told they would be ready in two - three weeks. So far so good. It has now been nearly SEVEN weeks and the glasses are still "not in". About a week and a half ago the manager said (after my second call) that they were now ready and shipping from the lab and would be in the next day. Lo and behold, the next day when I called she said that the lab had discovered a problem during quality control and they needed to be redone. I was asked to call back in a week. The week ended today and I just called. Guess what? No glasses. She said she would call the lab and call me back. She just called and now they are ready and will be in tomorrow, or the next day. All of the staff that I have dealt with have been polite, obviously JC Penny optical is mismanaged and inefficient. Almost two months for a pair a glasses to come in? Come on!

I think the manager who runs the optical office, while minimally professional, is not all that helpful or sincere in her willingness to serve the customer. I have heard customers complain and argue while in the store before. I have been in there several times and spent several hundred dollars this last year. Three weeks ago I left voice messages with no return call. I finally drove there during my work hours to ask for a copy of my prescription. They said they would call. Again, they did not bother to return my call, and I just called now and guess what, its now ready for me to pick up. When were they going to call me to let me know? This should have been easily resolved three weeks ago when I first called. With below average service JCP optical doesnt deserve repeat sales. I used their eye doctor and bought several pairs of glasses. I think they should have their store manager re-trained OR removed. Note to JCP - she needs some counseling on good old fashion customer service.

I continue to have fabulous service for glasses there! I find the sales agents consistent each time I go. This last time the sales agent helped me hunt for replacement frames for glasses two years old. They were finally out of warranty after 2 years and the arm broke off. She called several places and found the same frames so I could just swap out the lenses. All I had to do was pay for the frames. Thanks guys for helping me find a perfect solution and not just telling me I have to buy new glasses.

Ive had nothing but good service there. However, its obvious they are understaffed. So, you really cant blame the associates if people have to wait, blame the management. I have had to wait, but when I am served, the associates are very good and helpful.
