I absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Dubin and regret having been with him for 10 years. First, he saw that my root canaled tooth was decaying on the x-ray, but did "not want to tell" me in the hope that it would "get better by itself". For more than a year, I was in terrible pain without diagnosis, with (as I now understand) abscesses from the root draining from the gums until I finally developed vertigo, googled my symptoms and self-diagnosed. The tooth had to be pulled, it was entirely black when it came out and the dental surgeon said that there had been so much bone loss that there was no hope for an implant. I was very lucky that I did not have severe blood poisoning from the infected tooth. I dont know why I continued to see Dr. Dubin... On Monday, during the cleaning I experienced some pain when the hygienist scraped under my gums. Dr. Dubin determined that I needed a new crown and had me scheduled to come in the next day. Fortunately, I took my children the same afternoon to their pediatric dentist, Dr. Brian Yoshida and I mentioned my crown. I wanted a second opinion and you can imagine my shock when he told me after thorough examination that my "tooth was perfectly healthy" and I did "not need a new crown" at all. The pain I had experienced was from the hygienist cleaning under the gums which is perfectly normal. Please spare yourself the trouble.

Dental Care Westgate is excellent! I feel fortunate to be a patient here for over fifteen years. Dr Dubin always meets you at the front desk with a genuine smile and briefly catches up on life since your last visit. An avid cyclist, he always excited to share a good story about a recent bike ride or an experience volunteering at Seymour Center Marine Lab in Santa Cruz. It makes for a relaxing atmosphere instead of one filled with anxiety. Above all Dr. Dubin is a professional and skilled dentist. Whether its been a filling or fixing a chipped tooth, hes always patient and takes time to explain the procedure before hand and while he works. Of course he has a great support staff as well. From his hygienist to his office staff all are very friendly and professional. Similar to the greeting at your arrival he always walks you back to the front desk, leaving you with the feeling he truly appreciates having you as a patient.

I had a crown done and the experience, and the final product was excellent. The whole process of getting the crown was far less stressful than I had anticipated. Dr Dubin is caring and attentive with many years/decades of experience and it shows in his professional yet relaxed manner. Dr Dubin was careful to make sure that the crown fit properly and it matched my other teeth since it is a prominent front tooth. The result is that the crown fits perfectly and is not noticeably different from my other teeth. His staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr Dubin and Dental Care Westagte.

Dr. Dubin has done a wonderful job. He repaired a chipped tooth. It was then discovered that the tooth was infected and had to be extracted. That was completed with hardly no pain. Even when the Novocain wore off there was no pain. I didnt have to use pain pills or any antibiotic. We are in the process of putting in a bridge. My experience with Dr. Dubin has been nothing but positive. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Dubin is a wonderful Dentist, he has replaced crowns, fillings, and a mouth guard over the years and I never a problem with any of the work. My son and husband also have all their dental work done by him and have been very pleased. What I like most is that his shots are not hurtful, since I am afraid of needles. I highly recommend him.

I never worry about seeing Dr. Dubin. He is so gentle and friendly. He has made crowns for my teeth and many people have told me that my smile never looked better.
