After my appointment this morning at Murphy Pet Clinic, I can say with confidence, that I have chosen wisely and my kitties are in good hands. I recently moved to Sunnyvale and needed a new vet. I called several vets asking about cost of service, hours of operation, etc. I chose Murphy for several reasons, one of which was because of Brittany their receptionist. She cheerfully and patiently answered "all" my questions when I called. The cost of service at all four vets I contacted where basically the same. But I came back to Murphy because Brittany said she hoped I would choose her clinic. Their hours of operation fit my needs and bottom line, I had a very positive first impression. From the moment I walked in this morning, the staff seemed happy to see me and thanked me for my business. The techs were gentle and patient with my kitty. Dr. Lee and the tech both explained what they were doing during the exam and did not push me to do any additional exams. Options were explained and I was offered an estimate of charges if I was interested in other procedures. Also, very important, the staff was sensitive to my cats needs. Sasha was very nervous and instead of pushing to complete the rest of the exam immediately, they offered to keep her, let her calm down and do the rest of the exam later. I am already comfortable with the Murphy staff and would hightly recommend them to any one looking for that "special kind of vet." Linda Vaganov

This clinic was recommended to me by a good friend of mine and we are really happy to find out about it. Dr. Ken Sawyer as well as all the staff at Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic proved to be very caring and professional — they took care of our puppy from the very first day we got him. They helped to treat all the diseases and parasites the puppy had when we received him, performed perfect neuter operation after which the puppy recovered quickly. Ken Sawyer always explains all possible options and helps to make the decision that is best for the dog. The staff also always reminds us of due visits and calls after difficult procedures to make sure the puppy is doing fine. Highly recommend Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic — they helped us to raise a healthy dog.

We took our cats here for two years and I regret it. Dr. Sawyer is rude and makes you feel like an awful pet parent if you dont do everything he recommends (and they charge almost double what it should cost on everything). The vet techs were also very sub-par and made mistakes every time I went (like when shaving my cats arm too close and his whole arm was bleeding. But they taped it up and didnt tell me. When I found out I called Dr. Sawyer and he basically yelled at me for not noticing sooner and blamed me. What? Such a jerk.) I spent thousands and got crappy service. I am never going here again and hope no one else makes that mistake.

Well be leaving the area soon and I want to let people know how great we think Dr. Sawyer and his team are and how much well miss them. Dr. Sawyer has taken care of all my fur babies (dogs & cats) for the last 12 years or more. I appreciate his honesty about diagnoses and treatment. And hell recommend specialists, if necessary. He genuinely cares about our pets and thats a great feeling. Last year we had to have our big dog euthanized because of cancer. Dr. Sawyer was so compassionate before, during and after the procedure. Dr. Sawyer & Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic are family.

Doctors are supposed to be compassionate. Dr. Sawyer not only was rude and condescending, but he was very obviously trying to do everything in his power to make extra money with his scare tactics. Didnt fool me buddy!
