Never Go There. Having checked the facilities, it seemed a good place to board my dog for a week. She does not attend this vets usually, so I copied a recent senior blood test check shed had, which was all fine. Also took her vaccination records. On the day of leaving her, I had three phone calls to ask if we were definitely coming in. Yes, Id arranged 3.20pm... I luckily took all paperwork I had, as they then said they needed a receipt showing shed attended the other veterinary surgery. That evening, we had a call saying our boxer dog had an intestinal problem - which they say shows on the blood tests, and would recommend x ray and scans. She has a lump - which I had noted on her form, which they recommended a needle-biopsy. Also her ears need cleaning, which would be the cost of procedure plus ear drops twice daily for the remainder of her stay. So then she would be a medicated boarder, and the price would increase. I declined all this, but had to leave home worrying even more about leaving the dog. Out of State, then got another phone call saying we are worried about her breathing Not a nice message to have on your voice mail. I spoke to them, and they said she is stressed and heavily panting. They want to try sedatives, they are worried about her heart. They give a low sedative and move her to a quieter place. Next day, they phone and say they sedatives have little effect, they want a stronger dose, but will not give it until the dog is tested for heart health - which can be a problem in boxers. I say, ok she is healthy, and has been checked by our vet, give her the sedative, but they will not without a scan. The scan can only be done before tomorrow, when the ultrasound is there. All of these are costly procedures, but its not that I worry about, it is the constant worry, the guilt, the emotional blackmail that I felt they used to make sure we did what they suggested, or our family member may not be there when we return as they said. It was my worst nightmare, to be so far away and not know what to do for the best. We eventually had to email/call everyone we remotely knew, who would be willing to get her out of there. There is no one there overnight and they said they didnt want to find that shes gone blue and stopped breathing overnight. They were telling me all kinds of things about what could happen, to her - in great detail, both confusing and scary to me. The paperwork I have lists prices of recommended treatment, over $400 I do think they are wanting the best for the animal, but they do not have a sensible or even sensitive approach. There was no empathy, no common sense and I think if the dog had a minor complaint they would throw every medical explanation at me to make sure I paid top dollar. Definitely agree that many of the tests would be unnecessary, and the staff have a poor bedside manner. I made mistakes. I did not ask my vet who they recommended. They do not recommend this place, I later discovered.

After going through a few different vets, we finally found a good place. The place i was going to prior was just after money and nearly left my dogs leg disfigured because they casted it wrong, but luckily we caught onto what was happening. Everytime we come in, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, they greet my dogs like they were their own (my dogs are quite fine with this, it actually puts them at ease). The doctors: Dr. Hueston and Dr. Tran are very knowledgable and take the time to go over every detail and let me ask as many and whatever questions i have so i have an understanding. They are honest about pricing and procedures. For instance, one of my dogs has been dealing with a foxtail in his leg for awhile now and they lanced it and tried to flush it out the best they could, but unfortunately it didnt get all of it. Instead of doing the procedure over and over again with no avail, they referred me to a specialist because they didnt feel it right to continue to do procedures over and over again if it wasnt working (he had 2 procedues prior from a different vet who claimed it was a tumor, which it wasnt). I appreciate their honesty and will continue to bring my dogs here.

Dr Greenberg is one of the most respected vets in the country and for good reason. I am shocked at the bad reviews. It leads me to believe that the money may have been more of an issue to you than your pets welfare. I have never experienced a test that I felt was unnecessary. I hate forking out money but I do it without consideration for the welfare of my kids. Just ask my Care Credit Card. This is one of the few vets around that cares about the animals and not the money. But realize this is a business and without money they cannot function. The front desk, most Techs and the Vets know myself and my wife by first name and every single pet we have, Koda, Renji, Skittle-butt, Nani, Scruffy, Toffee and Charmin. How many Vets do you see who need to look at a chart just to remember your name? and still pronounce it wrong. I have even had calls from Dr Greenberg just to see how my kids are doing. I have nothing but respect for Westminster Veterinary Group and you will be doing your pet a great favor by trusting them.

The worst experience possible! The facilities look nicer than a Beverly Hills pediatricians office, but you pay for that in numerous excessive charges. That would be almost okay if Dr. Dielo knew how to treat rabbits. My bunny had GI stasis, which he has had before. Before I could even talk to Dr. Dielo, my bunny was taken away for what I thought would be an exam and I was handed a stack of papers to complete. This vet gave a bunny with low blood pressure intervenious fluids! Typically they are give subcutaneous fluids--what was was "very worried." No wonder--she initiated a non-standard treatment trying to get fluid into a rabbit through his veins. She told me she pinched his stomach "firmly" and felt a gas bubble disperse. Actually, she probably popped his gut at that point. Thats how he died. It didnt need to happen. The standard treatment for GI stasis is less the $200, but I paid over $300 to have Dr. Dielo improperly "treat" my rabbit that resulted in his death. Dont ever go there. You will regret it.

This Vet group doesnt care about the pet, they are solely in it for the money. I just paid $509 to have my dog spayed and repair a herniated umbilical cord. When they brought her out she had a cone on but her incision wasnt wrapped or covered. I asked why and they said just keep the cone on she will be fine. 2 days later she had ripped the incision open by scratching it with her rear leg. I took her back in and $365.00 later they wouldnt admit it was their fault, they had to put her under again and re suture and staple her incision. They brought her out UNWRAPPED again and after I questioned them AGAIN they said perhaps she shpuld wear a t-shirt to prevent her from scratching it. You think? They needlessly and selfishly put my dog through 2 surgeries in as many days. I will never take any animal back to them and will tell anyone wholl listen to stay away from them.
